And Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful." Is this a covering for the "modesty" too? Stop changing the words of Allah, have some shame. Just because you do a sin doesn't allow you to go around justifying it. Hijab is one of the greatest signs of Islam in a woman. Without it, society collapses.

"Draw their cloaks over their bodies" is understood by Arabs (the verse is in Arabic of course) to be a complete cloak that covers the woman from top to bottom, which is usually black in color, famously called the Burqa. English translates it as cloak, which is close, but the Arabic word Jilbaab has much more to it. Check up actual Arabic to Arabic dictionaries. That goes beyond just Hijab, which only the head coverig. Even kids know that. This is an Islamic ruling, which majority of Muslims till the 19th century abided by, for over 1400 years. So, get educated. If you're not a Muslim, and haven't studied Islam, don't try interpreting Quranic verses with that dead mind of yours. Islam gives life to whatever it enters. You cannot WEAR MODESTY! This is a wrong translation!
Hijaab translates to "covering" or "barrier" not modesty. So anything that covers or acts as a barrier between two things is called a hijab.
