I'm so tired of bioware copying and pasting their games. Why can't they just be different? With Mass Effect Andromeda It literally was dragon Age Inquisition with a Mass Effect skin over it. Now it looks like this next dragon Age is going to be dragon Age with a Mass Effect Andromeda skin over it. Is every game going to cannibalize the previous one? This is madness.🤦♂️
I cannot for the life of me understand why somebody would take away "agency" from an RPG game. A crpg something that dragon age has been in it's core for many years is not a hniderence to anyone. And for many fans something that is very much essential to the enjoyment of such games. So, the more agency the better. I understand that the devs will define just how much and in what regards the players will have agency because they themselves need to have the "agency" to design the experience for the whole game on all levels. In any case. BioWare is a RPG dev team with hopefully good intentions for RPG fans aswell. And I can only wish that they will offer us at least as much agency as we had in Dragon Age: Origins! Even though it sounds from hearing these informations that it would not be the case.

Rook feels too impersonal to be one of Varric’s nicknames which he’s only given to friends/rivals (ie: chuckles, ruffles, smiley etc) - I do think Rook is an agent for either our chosen faction or the Inquisition since the name is something more in Lelianna’s field

Case in point: the hubs in DA:I would NOT WORK for a multiplayer live-service RPG.
Regarding the comparison to Destiny, the author’s comparison would carry more weight to me if they actually described what was Destiny-like about the hub that would make it a departure from prior games. Having a centralized hub where we depart on missions from is so vague as to be meaningless. Almost every Dragon Age and Mass Effect game had a hub that could be described in that way. As to the ability wheel, both other leaks say it is closer to the ability wheel used in Mass Effect and even previous Dragon Age games than FFXV.
