Beach volleyball made its Olympic debut at the 1996 Atlanta Games. USA and Brazil shared all the gold medals in the subsequent four editions, except in Sydney where the Australian women's team dominated.

Every-time Walsh hits it’s 99% side out she’s beast!
I hate the fact that people comment about the girls bodies. Go watch men's beach volleyball. No one is commenting about their body. Why is it different for girls? If you click on this video you should be watching for the volleyball and not the butts. As a fellow volleyball player, I am offended. I might be a little biased because I play and because my coach coached Misty May as a teenager but these girls are amazing players and deserve better.
People watch sport for different reasons. Some watch the amazing skills, some watch the good looking players. I have female friends who watch football and beach volleyball because of the good looking guys. There is nothing wrong to watch beach volleyball for players' asses.

Feel a little bad for the Netherlands. Like the commentator says early on, they did not play badly, they just ran up against one of the best beach vb duos in the sport's history. If you get past Kerri at the net, then you have Misty in the backcourt. Look at everything that she does as the shortest player on the court (5'9") in the rally @ 21:49.

Because they are anticipating the ball going somewhere else. It happens often when you're trying to guess on defense.

Ahmed Mujtaba Sumra Its not the same game. Your speed and jumping is restricted in sand. You MUST have ball control to be able to pass the ball to your partner...sand volleyball is for those who have mastered indoor volleyball.
Beach vball is SO hard!!!!!! I only play indoor vball and I thought it was the same thing, but I struggled so much. Even my friend who is very good compared to me struggled on the sand. You have to be very agile - moving quickly while sinking in the sand is def an extreme sport itself lol
@@erikaInDR Never indirectly discourage someone from playing beach...if you learn to drive stick-shift then automatic is a breeze...if you learn outdoor then indoor will be much easier; you can master indoor and still have trouble adjusting to beach.
