I saw an early screening a couple weeks ago, and I enjoyed it. I know nothing about D&D, and typically don’t like CGI-heavy movies, but this was enjoyable. Likable cast, I’d give it 3/5
I have to admit, repeatedly hearing D&D called a boardgame made me laugh! It's a pen, paper and dice role playing game that can have a map and miniature figures to help visualize the story/movement, though it isn't always required. But unlike a regular boardgame, the map isn't static and would change with every encounter. It even be drawn and filled in on the fly. Anyway, now I need to see it because I'm sure there are lots of references /gags you didn't notice that probably make it even more goofy and fun. The best kind of action movie!
...when i played D&D (admittedly in the 1980s so maybe it's different now) but it was no board, no cards, it was role playing and the decisions were up to chance, rolling dice and that's what made it kinda like the movie, chaotic
Joseph should watch this one, it was a fun movie! I'm not a D and D fan, and still thought this was a good time! All the actors did great. It's better than any recent Marvel movies/shows, and John Wick 4 (too long ,imo). 4/5!
I really enjoyed this movie. I'd watch it again, it was fun and action packed. The script was tight and clever. Far better than the marvel movies we've been getting.
I was very interested in wondering what you guys thought of this movie. I actually loved this movie. It was a fun time at the movies and perfect to watch with a big crowd. I laughed a lot and the end was epic and these days its hard to get any kind of a good movie especially being soooo disappointed with last weeks Shazam!2. Definitely gonna rewatch movie again. 😊 easily a 3.5/5 for me... but mostly cause it WAS for me.
D&D is a VERY involved game. LOL. It can be a lot of fun if you're a giant nerd and have a group of other giant nerds and A LOT of time on your hands. It will suck up your night, like bingo. LOL
Was watching this and decided to check out the podcast. First one I watched was the one we’re y’all discuss film criticism. Funny enough y’all talk about Chris Pine on that one (well some of his moron fans). Really loved the episode and y’all’s perspective. EDIT: different Chris but whatever they all blend together
Thought this movie was great. I played D&D and even ran a few games. I don't people have to know anything about the game to enjoy it just like funny heist movies like Time Bandits. For fans of the D&D cartoon there are cameo of the cartoon characters.
I know less than nothing about D&D. I thought the trailer looked surprisingly decent. I'll definitely stream it sometime when I need something to watch.
Dungeons and Dragons is not a card game or aboard game. The closest thing to it would be a Choose Your Own Adventure book. D and D has many worlds that you could create very successful franchises from (Dragonlance, Dark Sun, Ravenloft) yet, every time they make a movie, they focus on the "game" aspect and turn the whole thing into a goofy pseudo-comedy.
I don't know what you just said about a helmet and resurrection of somebody dead wife and all. The "underdark" sounds like an unfortunate sex club so I'm intrigued
I honestly was dozing on and off throughout. Kinda like Nick said, I caught myself occasionally asking myself... are we still looking for the helmet? Trying to get in a vault? Retrieve a missing luggage item at the airport?? Lol. It was just alright for me as well. Kinda meh. 2/5. I did like the chase scene /shape-shifting sequence. The extended graveyard interviews w/the newly undead was cute. Overall, a little slow and too many diversions for my palate! Guess it's like the game in that regard. 🎲🪄😉 Thanks gentlemen! 😍
Hmm, there's talk of boycotts cause the director said something that hurt their feelings. Another outrage over a line said in passing playfully in some interview. I only hear this BS from the right; all the outrage, cancel culture. It's interesting.

Hilarious editing from the start 😂 nice job guys 🙌💖

I feel the exact same. It also helps that I'm completely fan of medieval fantasy ^^
@@Narusasu98 I love medieval fantasy!
Perfect movie to watch with a big crowd. Love it's special effects, silly jokes, and epic ending!
@@upgradED32 yeah I agree!

I was waiting for this review! Great review as always guys!

I liked tiny Bradley Cooper
That's nick.
And that's Joseph!
That's shake and bake
And I helped! 😁
Are you guys going to review “I see you” 👀
Tabletop game.
NERDS!

The trailer imo looked average but I found it to be a rather enjoyable film 😁
Taking a chance on this tomorrow… very surprised that it wasn’t a disaster, in terms of critical reception
Love u guys and ur reviews
I don't follow the game But your review made it look like it would be a good time. Not a lot of good movies released in the last 2 months!
I look forward to seeing this film…I just hope to enjoy myself with a basic story… I expect no great revelations .
Would you review knock at the cabin because I want to see it but I also don't UNLESS it's good.

Easy to understand review! So informative comments, on a card/board game ambitiously being brought to live action. 2.5. Out of 5? "Yeah."
Great video! 🌞💕

The funny thing is, Chris Pine has the exact same impression of the film that Nick has, but he can't say that in interviews. A gentle shrug.
Thanks!
Thank you!
You guys really need to play DnD lol the movie will make more sense
My screening…my guest fell asleep! This movie was meh, and I’m not sure if all these people saw the same film I saw. These rave reviews are baffling.

People can have different opinions. I thought the movie was a good time!
I have zero interest in this movie and would not have watched even any other review about it. 😂
Thanks! 📽 🎫 🍿 🍫 🥤
Thank you!

Yh, the left never do anything like that cancel culture, and outrage stuff.....
Movie was hot garbage. I fell asleep in the first 20 minutes. Children will love this, and adults, don't go in this sober. 😅
I dozed off numerous times as well... and that was with my special "film enhancement" meds! 😉🧸
I liked it and I'm an adult 🤷🏾♀️
u guys got so much better review than chris stuckman orjermeny johns they are crackers
Do Vin Diesel not pay Michelle Rodriguez? Is she broke? I mean she's in a super popular franchise... and yet she always does these types of movies.
Very that!! To paraphrase Nick... Grunting through her lines!😉
@@jay-dubb.dubb.68 hahaha that is true😂😂
