will the subwoofer apply high pass filter to the left and right speaker when they are connected, such that we don’t need to worry about that ourselves?
When routing the speakers through subwoofer, the subwoofer will apply high pass filtering. However, there is some exceptions, where its need to be applied on the loudspeakers. These exceptions are mostly on the previous models not manufactured at the moment. If you are planning on buying Genelec system, don't hesitate to contact us at support@genelec.com and we are happy to help.
Apologies for the late reply. Could you be kind and reach us at support@genelec.com and also let us know what speakers and possible subwoofer(s) you have, and we will be happy to help more in details. 🙌
I believe this is geared towards the non-SAM systems "If you’d like an audio solution with fully automated calibration, check out our range of Smart Active Monitors and Subwoofers.." in the description. I believe it is useful to learn REW either way as many people trust it to validate their systems.
Thanks! That's explains a lot of my questions.
Great to hear, Manuel! You're welcome! ;-)

@@genelec thank you for your answer. I purchased a 8020D and am going to get the 7040A subwoofer
If you calibrate volumes with just one speaker, when you turn the other on, it will be decompensated?

Do you need to calibrate your interface and levels? REW says you do or is it not necessary?
Calibrating them may give you more precise results. 🙂
@@genelec OK thanks.
Hyvä Suomi ! 🇫🇮
Valitettavasti Marcel ei puhu suomea. ;-)
Ummm why is there a need to leave glm to calibrate SAM speakers or is this for speakers without GLM
