- I wanted an onboard glow system for my Mew Gull, primarily so I do not have to attach a glow stick or lead on starting the engine, and also providing the secondary benefit of operating at low throttle settings; here is a short review of some options I considered.

Remote glow connection, moves the external glow plug heater connection to anywhere you want on the fuselage. Use them on all my glow planes now. So nice. No extra on board battery, no extra drain on receiver pack, no fingers near the prop. Easy, easy, easy. I'll never not use one again.
Hi, Very interesting, i am about to get a couple myself. My only concern is the alligator clip on the plug tail. Is it not jumping off with the engine vibrations? Should i get the bare kit and a proper plug connector? Thanks
I was concerned about the alligator clip coming off but I now have three models with this arrangement and never had an issue. I also found that plug connectors often would not fit, particularly on a 4 stroke engines where the plug is often recessed. Use good quality clips, obviously with insulation, would be my advice.
@@davids_model_flying hi, thanks for your feedback, i will just go a head then. 🙂. I will try to run glow engines with gas and this glow switch to improve idle. I already ran my os 120ax with os g5 plug, had the same top rpm as on glow 5% nitro but idle was complicated bellow 2800rpm when the plug wasn’t supplied, with energized plug i had idle bellow 2000rpm.
It actually ran just as good with an os 3 plug ( very hot if i recall right).
Gas usage was incredibly low vs glow fuel.
Can you please share the name of the device and where to purchase it.
Thank you so much
It's called a 'MRW01 Standard Glow Switch' and is available here: modelradioworkshop.co.uk/shop/glow-plug-switch-devices/standard-glow-switch/
