same bro i am in 12th 18 years old only 35-40 stars visible highly even when i live in tier 3 city and town when i was young many trillion stars were visible with milky wya when i wa sin primary it was such a next level nostalgia we lost it
there is only 1 star visible here in delhi whereas Milky Way can be seen in Ladakh easily!

2-3 years ago when COVID and lockdown started , I always was fond of astronomy. I always wanted to see the milky way galaxy arm . But was never able to see as of light pollution, but at that time I thought maybe it will visible on some specific month that i must missed . I asked my elders about it. I asked did you ever see a milky way galaxy or any big arm in the night sky ever . They replied yes that they saw a arm like structure filled with stars . This truly show me the effects of light and air pollution. Guess I will never see milky way galaxy in my neighborhood or village or maybe city .
arre bhai go to Ladakh.... there are many amazing view points... it looks like you can jump and catch the stars they are too close due to refraction of light... its real fun... you can see Milky Way easily there

I am astrophotographer and I live in my village and I can relate with this and today 90percent of people have not seen it,get out of your city away from light pollution and you will see the magic of nature believe me you wil get goosebumps whenever you remember that moment in your life.☺️☺️ I Am lucky that I have seen it.

Yup Light pollution is a real threat. I myself remembers the time when I was a little kid in early 2000s… I was able to see so many stars but nowadays hardly 10-15 stars are visible.

I live in Mumbai. Here we can only see 2 stars clearly(jupiter and saturn). If we sleep on terrace and observe for long duration, we can see some stars but well under 10. When I was 8-9yrs old(1993-4), I remember being in my native village back in telangana and seeing a sky filled with stars and white cloud shades around it. It was crystal clear. Kids today will only be able to see such a sky in ladakh or arunachal.

I still remember during my childhood days back in 2004, use to watch so many stars at night which gives me goosebumps during summer nights from my house roof when electricity use to go off but now sadly very few left & remaining saptrishis has also faded.
Now I wish to again see those skies full with stars with same intensity of getting goosebumps fir chahe ladakh hi kyun na jana pade.

Gaurav bhai, I have a question. I want to know that how many hours or days all the man made lights should be turned off to get a clear sky. ( Considering the air pollution is very minimum ).
Because in my village, there is no air pollution. But here we have light pollution. (Not very much though).
There is no answer to this question. The less the pollution, the better.

I think about this last night (21/11/2023) and today i found this the reason why stars disappeared from sky. when i was child arround 2010, i was watching the stars clearly but now im 20 years old and there are no stars such as ☹☹☹🥺🥺🥺
I know when i was 5-10 yrs old in Village we used to sleep out in summers and sky used to look colourful with different light of stars and the line of milky way but now there are less then 20 stars everyday 😢
That was such a wonderful and amazing experience spent with our family. which we cannot forget in our entire life. 😢❤

I do remember more stars at my young age , but now I only see few . I never knew you could see Milkyway from earth with naked eyes ... I wish I wasn't born in this century
Few days ago I went to darjeeling where I specially expected for a clear night sky but it was not that starry but as starry that it would satisfy me cuz there I would be able to see such constellations that I can't see from my city and even I saw a clear star cluster Pleiades it was really a nice time

I remember when I was 6 years old kid at 1998 I could have clearly see a huge number of stars but nowadays I literally see 70% less stars in the sky compared to that time
I grew up walking home only with moonlight no torches were required most days.... And we used to stargaze at night laying down kn carpets that were spread on the ground. All the kids from the neighborhood would lay down n do that and just look for shooting stars and make wishes. I'm sad to say that might not be possible for my kids in the future whenever I have them.
And that's why I always say I want to live away from the lights and noise of the city. Somewhere outskirts where the air is still pure and you can wake up to sunlight and green fields around. Something so precious that i could pass on to my future generations.
I'm still crying that I will no longer could watch Milky Way Galaxy😢😢😢
