That's beautiful! Did you arrange it or is there a way to get the score for this?
My modest harp playing needs a long way to go to come close to that! Thanks a lot for this

Aurore K please visit my website www.ElizabethLouiseHarpist.com and click on the menu where it says Sheet Music and you will find it for sale. It has some pedal changes but you could skip these notes if you wanted. You will be able to preview the first page.

I am new to harp. Very new. But I am wondering about her right hand in particular. Her thumb is always fully extended. Never relaxed, never folding down over the top of her finger. Is this okay to do it this way? It looks like even when her hand is pulling away from the strings her hand is tensed in an extended position. The playing sounds beautiful. I am just wondering about it, not criticizing. I want to learn about this technique.

Hello Sharon. I'm the harpist in the video, so any comments on my page are directed towards me. I don't post other harpist's videos on my channel. What you're seeing in my right hand appears that I'm not closing my thumbs all the way. Sometimes I am, sometimes I'm not.The angle of the recording doesn't help this. I recorded this song a long time ago and the nerves may have attributed to me not relaxing as much as you'll see in my later videos (and there are several to choose from) where you'll notice the thumb closing more often. You want to close your thumb all the way (sometimes speed and repetition of notes keep us from closing completely) and you want to maintain a relaxed position when playing. The "tension" should only show in the energy used to pluck the string, then immediately relaxing the hand/wrist.

@@ElizabethLouise thank you so much for responding. I am watching so many videos and then I have questions but don’t intend to criticize anyone. I mean who am I? I’m just beginning! Ha. I appreciate the response. I tend to watch hands closely to try to drill it into my head.

@@SharonCullenArt It is my pleasure :-) It sounds like you are giving yourself a good education to watch others play. Be careful not to establish bad habits :-) I have a free beginner's course on my website. Please feel free to check it out. courses.elizabethlouiseharpist.com/collections

Dislikes are from jealous folk who cannot play harp to save their lives.
