- The incredible singer/keyboard player/arranger/composer Jonah Nilsson of the band Dirty Loops is featured in this Jazz fusion arrangement of Last Surprise from Persona 5 co-arranged by the great Button Masher! When Jonah approached me about singing something with the band, I knew we had to do something from the Persona 5 sound track for him, and I recruited Button Masher to help bring some more advanced harmonic sensibility commonly found in Dirty Loops' sound. @@aperson6692 I had a buncha hectic stuff happen to me during production while also working fulltime at my job-job, so it took me two months working late evenings.

just kidding of course, your animation was really cool. I particularly liked the part where they were all following up after each other, plus recognition that Johanna and Necronomicon are also vehicles, something the game itself tends to overlook.
@@Chubby_Bub @sirpotatobottom1810 ahahaha, yeah, I'm guilty of making multiple enemies that null or counter physical damage get got by physical damage. I just like their designs so much, I wanted them included, yknow? But also thank you for the kind words too! I like animating vehicles cuz it shakes up the motion and adds variety!
Bassists were killing it in this one!
Shame they were so low in the mix, feels like the arranger hates bass in a lot of their recordings 😢

it's low because it serves as a mere groovy base, most of the work it's done by the synth slap bass if you pay attention.

Just incredible! Dirty Loops has been one of my favorite bands for years, and when i saw Jonah's feature listed on the album I couldn't believe that these two musical forces were colliding. And more specifically, colliding into one of the best JRPG battle themes ever composed. This was such a delight to listen to, and I am so unbelievably hopeful that this song or one of the others on Album 4 will be considered for a Grammy.
The animations are so pretty!! Taylor Russell outdid himself here! The arrangement is really unique and I like it a lot, though I kinda miss the original bass line 🥲

I actually enjoy the fact you didn't stray too far from the source on this one. Bringing in ButtonMasher again was a real tour de force as well.

This cover is amazing 😩👌 one little detail with the animation I found funny was Yusuke cutting up Shiki-Ouji when that demon nulls physical attacks in 5 + Royal 😂

I appreciate that the bullet in the animation being shot out by Joker was indeed an actual bullet, and not the bullet and casing.
