  • Today we're discussing the Mystery of the Progress M-27M Mission in Part 2 of my "The Long Year In Space" Series. Shortly after the Orb-3 mission was lost, The Russian Space Program tried to help pick up the slack with the their own Soyuz/Progress Launch but after a seemingly nominal launch, the spacecraft lost contact, leading to a race to figure out what went wrong, reconnect, and hopefully save the precious cargo.
    This video is blatantly inspired by Jon Bois (with the help of a BobbyBroccoli Tutorial)

    Ok random 1:15am thought - if I put a 7 mile long (indestructible) pipe vertically in the ocean leaving a few feet above water, would ocean pressure from depths constantly push water up and out of the pipe like a fountain forever?

      No, the pressure would push water into the pipe but only as high as the surface of the ocean because pressure is a function of depth
