    loved that old Fosters commercial.....Australian for remote control....a bloke throws a stubby at another in a pub...hits him in the head....and he reaches up to change the channel. LMAO

    Stubbies used to be a small bottle of beer made from glass about 10 cm across and about 15 cm tall.

    You can attribute "stoked" to a fire. When you stoke a fire it gets invigorated and/or excited.

    A stubby is a small bottle of beer, usually 375ml. A large bottle is a tallie and a can is a tinnie or just can.

    What you Aussies call "bogons", we Americans usually call either a "redneck", or a "hick", other terms would be "country bumpkin", "yokel", and in the southeastern U.S. (especially in upland areas), a "hillbilly". But there might or might not be other terms we use for them.

    Pretty sure "crow eater" is a reference to the SA coat of arms. Looks like a crow on a plate. Or a magpie in any case.

    A can is a can, a stubbie is a glass bottle, the same shape as a bundy ginger beer. A paddock is exactly the same as a field, it gets plowed.

    A couple you left out are...dunny = a toilet, or the little room where the toilet is
    Durrie or dart = a cigarette

    A lot of these we use in the UK! 🇬🇧😄 But then a lot of Australians have British heritage plus we grew up watching Prisoner Cell Block H and Neighbours 😝 and in London we've had a large Aussie community.
    However, a lot had me stumped and even I was amazed at the unique phrases. Love you guys! ❤️

    At 13 i came to Australia from NZ. I had a soft drink and a kid at school said...give us a swig...i did not know what he said...it meant a sip of the drink.

    - Chunder.
