The first 2 Exp containers in area one will get the Bubbler straight to level 3 with exp to spare. So at the beginning of room three, consider stopping to recover, and remember that the rooms most always reset upon re-entering, so that includes hearts that you can grab. I am currently at 16:53.xx and have all of my weapons (exception of spur because of behaviour) at level 3, full health. Also make sure to grab bubbline as shown, because you can take out butes quickly even with level 2 variant of it. I have never used Nemesis, but from what I hear it is as good as Spur. However, the Spur may be used to take out Mesa's with one clean shot. I am open to constructive criticism.
i used life pot at undead core, and had not good weapons (used fireballs on butes and rocket launcher on press). i somehow managed to reach Ballos, he slammed me and i appeared in the save room. fuk this game.
@@randomnerd4600 i know! i killed ballos month after this comment. Core is a intro to ballos. To See truly disgusting finał boss battle, Look Super Cyborg final boss. Hard AF!
Hey everyone. I know this video is kinda old, but I recently remembered I wrote out an entire 100% guide for this game on Steam. Here it is: steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=125498521
My problem is the first and second area. If you want to get through there without taking damage, you need to know the booster 2.0 inside out and backwards.
remember that the booster v2.0 works differently than the 0.8 one. In the first room, press Z button during very small moments to keep some fuel for the end. If you pass the "descending spikes stairs", spam the Z button to reach the gap when you hear the first part of Ballos story. Get the EXP. Then spam moderately (3 clicks for 2 seconds), follow the right wall and breath to get right at the good time and get the life capsule. Spam moderately to Curly. I always die at the middle of third room, but i've not my life pot (used during doctor fight), and the second room is SOOOOOOO hard. But you know how to pass the first one. Good luck, and I hope at least one of us will pass this ending...
My god thank you so much, I watched the video until Ballos because I don't want too many spoilers. I just wanted to see if there was a faster way than mine to pass the hell zone. Thank you anyway ;)
Thank you, just a short while ago I defeated the Blood Stained Santuary using what I learned in this video and the comments, I didn't think it was necessary to use the Missil Launcher until I saw this video and I REALLY loved doing that thing to put myself in the eye of Ballos and shoot him with everything! Also, i don't know if there's an important diference but i want to say that i played the original Cave Story (The 8-bit one, in the original page it is free.)
The reason its extremely hard is not because its hard, it just needs some practice... the thing is THERES NO SAVE POINTS. and i had no life pot because my bro said ballos' dog would give me one, he made it up and now its basically impossible
In the part after the falling blocks, the hearts on the right side surrounded by the spikes will respawn if you go up and come back down, but this should only be done on speed runs.
I beat the game with the 3DS eShop version, and stupid kid me took the machine gun, but I knew how to get the best ending, so I ended up just using the Blade for the whole Sanctuary. At Lv 2, you can just stand in Ballos's eye in the second and final phases and spam to win.
Okay, i made it to the heavy press, I just need to start off with a charge shot, and then rapid fire Heavy Press while dodging enemies and stay in the center place whenever possible, then move out the way after I defeat it. Ballos 5 phases, each one has an opening or two that I can take advantage, with his final phase, I can make my difficult final fight, much easier. at least this way I'll earn my true ending...
My recommendation is to get to Heavy Press with a ton of health, and then (if you have the Spur, release the shot), then stand underneath the weak spot after he fires the initial laser, and spam Spur/Machine Gun.
You know it's bad when you have ran the true final cave front to back twice, cause you wanted that star and health booster, yet cannot get past the final stretch of the gauntlet before the *final boss rush* Fuuuck
nop nop I suck at this game so hard my timing with booster is bad and here you have to be almost perfect and just seeing this video just tells play something else
The constant shaking *DOESN’T HELP THE PLAYER ON AN ALREADY ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE LEVEL.* I know why its shaking, the islands falling, but its very obnoxious.
I dont have the spur i have booster v.8 ive betten the game (fight the docter) can I still do the hell run if so tell me how do I get there which room is it in BTW curly died in the core room she drowned anyways pleas get back to me I really wanna do this run but I dont know how to get there
Nope, without Curly/Booster v.2.0 You won't be able to do it. You have to skip that part when you Professor falls in the labyrinth, and he will eventually appear in the future to give you the Booster 2.0. Also, search on the internet how to save Curly. Takes a while.
How did you get the Spur with Booster 0.8? You can't, is the short answer. To get the best ending, you have to jump the pit where Prof. Booster falls (save before the jump, and quit to retry), pick up the Tow Rope, which is in the Core boss room, BEFORE YOU TALK TO CURLY. It's on a robot in the lower right corner of the room. After the Core boss, pick up Curly and go through part of the water area. About halfway through, there is a small house. YOU MUST GET INTO THAT HOUSE TO GET BEST ENDING. Use the bed, then PC, then bookshelf, then Curly twice. When you've picked her up again, go through the rest of the game like normal. When you find her in the Plantation, you can get Ma Pignon, the mushroom thing that's in a room in the Graveyard (Mimiga Village). Answer his questions and kill him. Then use Ma Pignon on Curly, and go fight the Doctor. If you've done everything correctly, during the escape, you should be able to go into the Prefab Building, which is the save room before the last boss gauntlet. There you'll be locked in, and have to go through this hell.
Oh hell no, I could hardly beat the Undead Core with the Machine Gun. Get the spur! Don't worry about replaying the game a couplet times, it's not all that long except for the last few parts. You can find walkthroughs all over the place, good luck!
While in the Labryinth, you CANNOT talk to Professor Boost or else it's gameover there, you can get the tow cable during or before the Core boss fight this is ESSENTIAL or else you can't get this, in the water way if you have the machine gun level 3 when you see a random door, SHOOT DOWN or if you're skilled, jump and land on the platform and go inside, rest on the bed, read the computer screen, go the the bookshelf (right one) check and you'll learn how to flush out water inside Robots (This is for Curly) walk over to Curly and apply this new found and only used once skill on her, examine her a couple times and select NO to leaving her there, go through the plantation but go down and find a Chuthulu guy and Curly on a bed, talk to the green man, then Curly, then the guy again, go to the mimiga cemetery, then boost up to a door that you couldn't reach before, talk to the mushroom say in this order YES NO YES YES NO, then examine the badge, talk to him again and fight (he's easy if you know what you're doing, I died twice cause I was experimenting my weapons on him) beat his ass in, go back to Curly and then just progress normally after finding out your characters name (I'm not saying his name unless you already know.) and then go through one part of hell (FUCK YOU HIDDEN FINAL CAVE!) then get your weapons back to level 3 except the nemesis if you have that, beat the 3 bosses, Misery, doctor (two forms) and the undead core, when running back to jump off, don't, go INTO the shack and save if you wanna go through hell, and lastly go through the blood stained sanctuary and there ya go. You could've looked this up on steam as I did, but I wanted to point it all out.
Its called the spur. If you get the booster 2.0(you get it by not talking to the guy who falls down near the end of the Maze/labyrinth) at mimiga village you can go to the starting section of the game talk to the old man and he upgrades your polar star
It's not all lost! The Blade and Nemesis are still great choices, and are required, one or the other. Plus, the Snake can make Heavy Press easier with the swerving, and it can trigger Deletes earlier than usual. Any weapon but the Bubbline is good in the Sanctuary.
This level is hard! which also makes that final boss very hard! which I end up giving up on this game all thanks To this stupid level and even final boss which is a shame there is no save point..
I used to think that, yes. In retrospect, though, that's what makes it so good. In order to say you mastered Cave Story, you have to be able to take on it's toughest and final challenge. I've yet to beat Ballots, outside of Cave Story 3D(in that version, you have 100HP), but I now realize the challenge.
all I can say is: this is the most poorly designed part of the game, way harder than the rest with the difficulty spike, to much on the midboos, and balos is cruel
I mean, the difficulty spike is a bit crazy, but I feel that the level is hard without being too bullshit (apart from the 2nd room of course). Most of the level simply requires application of the skills you learnt and planning. Also Ballos is fairly easy to figure out, you just need to have good dodging. It's honestly one of my favorite parts of the game in my opinion.
I would just like to point out the obvious FATAL FLAW IN THIS GAME of NOT INCLUDING A WAY TO REPLENISH YOUR HEALTH AFTER THE SAVE POINT. (really?!?) With 11 health getting past the second room is waaaay too difficult and nothing short of..... INFURIATING!!!! ..... Therefore in light of certain factors 1. The bookshelf which sends you back to the previous area with no way to heal making it pointless! 2. The broken bed.... 3.The fact that this game has soooo many ways to FUCK UP your game by only giving you one chance to do something (which for any sane person would be IMPOSSIBLE to figure out). and...(this is my "FAVORITE") 4. NOT ALOWING YOU TO CHOOSE YOUR SAVE FILE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've come to the conclusion that this game (or at least THIS part of it) is just one HORRIBLE TROLL!!! The difficulty spike went from easy as kirby's dreamland.... to more difficult than IWBTG which I've played and beaten more than once don't get me wrong games like that are MEANT to be frustrating THIS GAME IS SUPPOSED TO BE FUN!!!! I mean seriously this level is like the second castle in syoban action without checkpoints and from the looks of it a possibly an equally difficult boss All I ask is that you have a refill station or WORKING bed or let me choose where to save so if I make a mistake I can refight the doctor and NOT WASTE MY ONE LIFE POT and get permastuck. So I don't have to replay through the WHOLE GAME! (FOR THE THIRD TIME!) That's not so hard. These are just BAD game design. Simple changes such as these would've made the game so much better. I cant stand it when GOOD games are designed poorly.
Dude, the point is to make it hard! If you aren't good at dodging, get good at it or get used to the normal ending. And the game sometimes gives you an alternate way to heal, farming enemies. If there wasn't a healing station, I would go back, kill some enemies to get health and save if I gained any health. You aren't always just handed things, sometimes you have to get them yourself.
Also, about the not allowing you to choose any save files, there is only one save file because the maker of Cave Story didn't think there would be anyone retarded enough to whine about something so simply solved. You screw up and become unable to get the best ending, QUIT WITHOUT SAVING! And there is also a thing called BACKING UP YOUR SAVE! Seriously dude, try to actually think up some solutions to your problems before you complain demanding that he change something in the game. He expected players to figure things out on their own
the sign in the first room doesn't lie when it says 'Welcome to Hell' thats for sure...
I've been playing the 3DS version and I just can't get past the third room. This ending requires so much micro-management, timing and skill that a filthy casual such as myself will probably never beat it.

So like where can you save?
That's the neat part.
You can't.
how do you get the nikimaru counter? i cant seem to find it.
you need to go somewere on the outer Wall (have booster 2.0)
When climbjng thr side of the islands w the booster 2.0 you find japanesw text and a clock icon go to the edge where you see ropes and there it is
I have the machine gun, I am currently playing on original mode, Is it still possible to beat the game easily with the wepon I have?
*weapon
Oh hell no, I could hardly beat the Undead Core with the Machine Gun.
Get the spur! Don't worry about replaying the game a couplet times, it's not all that long except for the last few parts.
You can find walkthroughs all over the place, good luck!
SwiftKiller487 Thank you, I've already beat the game several times!
I've only just started recently, first try at the Sacred Grounds and I'm already halfway through B2.
+SwiftKiller487 That's good.
how do you get in?
amazing
how do u shoot so fast
Easy just get good
Seriously, how did he kill Ballos' third phase so quickly?
+Tamamitsune Brand Soap Rockets. He saved them all the time for this.
Wieprzek Yeah, I get that. When I tryed it, it took him much longer to die.
Tamamitsune Brand Soap Maybe the level was the case, or how fast you spammed it.
I barely got to the 2nd phase. And god why did I use my health pot.
+Issacc20 Yes! Thanks to that little trick at the end, I was able to beat him! :D
Just a little bit.
This level is literally imposible
I think he spammed the missile launcher
How you can get to the blood stained sanctuary?
get gud ending
Aaron DeVack Iv'e searched the Internet for that question before you responded.. but thanks anyway. ; )
No problem, it's up there now for others who ask the same question now. :p
Aaron DeVack 😀👍
What's tat pistol your using and how do I get it
Its called the spur. If you get the booster 2.0(you get it by not talking to the guy who falls down near the end of the Maze/labyrinth) at mimiga village you can go to the starting section of the game talk to the old man and he upgrades your polar star
You can also get it with booster 0.8 the jumps are a bit more tricky though
What if you got the snake and you did it by accident
I hate the snake
It's not all lost! The Blade and Nemesis are still great choices, and are required, one or the other.
Plus, the Snake can make Heavy Press easier with the swerving, and it can trigger Deletes earlier than usual.
Any weapon but the Bubbline is good in the Sanctuary.
What version of cave story is this?
Cave Story+ but you'll be able to get there in the original, WiiWare and Eshop in and Cave Story+ is on Steam
This level is hard! which also makes that final boss very hard! which I end up giving up on this game all thanks
To this stupid level and even final boss which is a shame there is no save point..
He never said you had to use a rocket launcher at the end so I used my spur and died...
No... But my instinct told me that the rocket launcher is the pain of the bosses xD
AT LEAST PUT A SAVE BEFORE BALLOS OR GIVE ME A LIFE POT GOD DAM IT
4:18
WHAT
+Jeffotron My reaction was the same xD
My surprise was because it wasnt a save point :"(
all I can say is: this is the most poorly designed part of the game, way harder than the rest with the difficulty spike, to much on the midboos, and balos is cruel
This stage was originally called Hell.
This level is dumb
This place needs save points
Ricardo Zwein that would not make it hell tho
@@Dark-ok9wy but is hard as heck
needs a challenge i guess
@@Dark-ok9wy ok
I would just like to point out the obvious FATAL FLAW IN THIS GAME of NOT INCLUDING A WAY TO REPLENISH YOUR HEALTH AFTER THE SAVE POINT.
(really?!?)
With 11 health getting past the second room is waaaay too difficult and nothing short of.....
INFURIATING!!!!
.....
Therefore in light of certain factors
1. The bookshelf which sends you back to the previous area with no way to heal making it pointless!
2. The broken bed....
3.The fact that this game has soooo many ways to FUCK UP your game by only giving you one chance to do something (which for any sane person would be IMPOSSIBLE to figure out).
and...(this is my "FAVORITE")
4. NOT ALOWING YOU TO CHOOSE YOUR SAVE FILE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've come to the conclusion that this game (or at least THIS part of it)
is just one HORRIBLE TROLL!!!
The difficulty spike went from easy as kirby's dreamland.... to
more difficult than IWBTG which I've played and beaten more than once
don't get me wrong games like that are MEANT to be frustrating
THIS GAME IS SUPPOSED TO BE FUN!!!!
I mean seriously this level is like the second castle in syoban action without checkpoints and from the looks of it a possibly an equally difficult boss
All I ask is that you have a refill station or WORKING bed or let me choose where to save so if I make a mistake I can refight the doctor and NOT WASTE MY ONE LIFE POT and get permastuck.
He expected players to figure things out on their own
I played the WII version :/
I see where ur coming from, but dont u feel like a badass when u become skilled?
Work for your damn happy ending.
