I just finished the live version and then caught up with the first few minutes that I missed. Thanks again for these videos.
I don't see myself trying to do the pushup challenge. I'm doing about fifteen to twenty inclined pushups a day just before I walk. I want to keep doing that, but I don't see myself going much higher. I'm trying to figure out the best way to add a hanging bar in my garage. The snow drifts are bad this year, so I'm having problems getting into the shop where I usually do the hanging exercise.
I have made my own walking stick. I started with an inch-and-a-quarter oak dowel. I soaked it in mineral oil for a long time. I've finished it with boiled linseed oil. I added a foot on the bottom. The foot and a rubber cane tip gives me a height that works a little better for me. Although I probably won't walk with it that much, I put sand inside the foot to try to get the same effect as a dead-blow hammer for when I'm walking. I'm hoping that the sand will keep the impact of the ground against the bottom of the stick from moving up the stick to my hand. I used a rubber-type material to support the sand, and that might also reduce some vibration. I might add a head someday or I might leave it as it is.

I love your description of your walking stick. Especially using the sand that’s very smart!

Great video. All your videos are great. I love sticks, especially the shillelagh, being of Irish descent. You present your information simply, effectively and no nonsense.

Update , just finished ! Sticks all sanded and given first coat of oil(,coco nut) .one is 1& 1/8 inches by 4 feet and the other is 1 inch by 5 feet ,both made of ash wood which had a decent hardness rating .lm gonna use the longer one for bringing the dog out. You would not believe how bold and brazen coyotes are becoming in this region, they seem to be loosing their fear of man.

Hi Matt, i was heading in for the weekly allergy injections when you made the video, sorry i missed class. I will get the shillelagh practice (on the heavy bag) going.. I purchased another shillelagh from a different seller than yours. Big mistake. I am also going to try the pushup challenge. My DOB: 31 Jan 50. Stay safe. Doug.

I never reslized you could do so much with a cane. Some practice would be super helpful. I have a tactial walking stick. It is a bit heavy but with practice Im sure it will be more managable. I do have a wrist with no cartlige. But I suppise in the heat of the moment that will not ne an issue. Was referred by Tim Miller
Glad I took a l9ok see. Tjank u for very vauable moves.

Hi, Matt. Unfortunately, all the shillelagh in your link are sold out. The only one that I could find is one from Cold Steel (37 inch Irish Blackthorn Walking Stick). I was wondering if you were familiar with it and had any feedback on it. I have been watching your channel and won't mind starting to learn how to use one.

You use a walking stick in self defence in the UK you'd get 6 months for possession of a dangerous weapon

Yes I keep hearing that about the United Kingdom. When will the citizens start to push back and take back their rights? When will the citizens of the United States start to wake up to see what’s happened to Europe, and fight stronger for our rights here? It’s all very scary.

@@pasquinilli considering what law enforcement carry on their person over here, yet citizens aren't allowed to take their safety in their own hands it seems. The criminals have more rights than hard working tax payers

Interesting. Do we live in a 'cold' universe where things are progressing in sequence away from the safety of the good-willed. Or is there a method to the madness of the unfolding of time? Either way anything can happen at any moment so always be prepared, thanks Matt!

Re: UK, Canada, USA, or anywhere else in the world, a cane or walking stick is never illegal...as they say be the grey man or woman, be cool and take it wherever you go...no problem...stop whining about a problem that doesn't exist, even in the UK...what would an English hiker be without their walking stick or staff...by the way have fun with your cane, just don't do your practise at the airport... your cane will be waiting on the other side of security and they will politely hand it to you..cheerio Matt

Yesterday I have decided to watch one of your other great videos on self-defense every single day as a training in self-defense, self-esteem, workout and meditation all in one.
It's so great you're mentioning the position of the shoulders. One of the great stretching exercises I do every single day thanks to my manual therapists is touching exactly that point you're making at the end of your video.
Best regards from me and stay safe...🙏. Best wishes.
