You are one of a very few non-Anglican Calvinists I have come across with an actual Calvinist view on the Sacraments.

Can you recommend some "truly Presbyterian" Pastors/theologians? I'd say Douglas Wilson approaches the confessional Reformed view more than most others.

well... with Doug Wilson it's complicated, because he values Baptism more than people like R C Sproul, but he subscribes to Federal Vision, which has many problems of its own such as Paedo-communion, and even some Trinitarian Problems.
I would recommend R Scott Clark and Michael Horton.

@@redeemedzoomer6053 I'm aware of the Federal Vision controversy surrounding Pastor Wilson but what Trinitarian problems does he have?
Also, thank you for the recommendations.

@@tjs.5044 Eternal Functional Subordination - the belief that the Son eternally submits to the Father, which is based on the few that God has 3 wills, not one.
R Scott Clark, one of the guys I listed, has a high view of the sacraments, while also criticizing things with Federal Vision as a whole

@@redeemedzoomer6053 From what I've seen Douglas Wilson has explicitly said that he does not hold to eternal subordination.
I know R Scott Clark is a huge critic of Pastor Wilson, I've looked into some of the stuff and it seems he really dislikes him and that its personal. Seems like Douglas Wilson derangement syndrome to me.

John Piper is heavily quoted among my Baptist Collegiate Ministry, with many of those at the BCM coming from Presbyterian background. What’s happening is that Baptist overall are taking up a very Calvinist theology, so we find more affinity with Presbyterians rather than most other denominations as for some reason they really resistant to Calvinism. John Piper is what we consider to be a more “reformed” Baptist. MacArthur is also considered Calvinist. Other newer Baptist theologians like Donald Whitney are also Calvinist. It’s definitely the only main reformed belief that we Baptist have taken up, and I also think a lot of it is the frustration of many Presbyterian who are not happy with the liberal direction of the PCUSA church, and we are most friendly to Presbyterian reformed beliefs, mainly that of Calvinism and predestination.
I hope y’all at PCUSA are able to come back to your beautiful traditions and true theology. Though I am southern Baptist, I am starting to lean more into a more true reformed theology, but it is hard to give up the view of baptism I grew up with.

I heard a PCUSA pastor speak of communion as if it was a symbol, ngl.

he does not like it because he thinks it is not intellectual enough but he does not find it heretical
