I always find it really interesting to see people's thoughts on baseball who didn't grow up with the sport, and I really appreciate all of the work you've put into understanding the game on a deeper level. Keep it up, man!
In baseball consistent success requires mental toughness. There are many factors that are out of a players control, for example, a batter can perfectly time his swing but hit it directly at a fielder. What you didn't address in this video is preparation. Not only do players need to physically train for the demands of a 162-game season (in MLB), but they also need to prepare for their opponents by studying the scouting reports to learn the weaknesses of each pitcher and batter they will face. And even after doing so the best hitters will only, on average, be successful 3 out 10 times.
For a batter, mental toughness and confidence is paramount because the BEST batters, those with a .333 batting average (considered elite) actually fail to get a hit 7 out of 10 times. I'm not sure in any other sport, if you fail to perform 7 out of 10 times, would you be thought of as one of the best players .
Definitely Agree. I'm really into basketball, football (soccer), and Boxing and it sessions the level of confidence you need in Baseball is on a different level to other sports
Ted Williams one of the best hitters of all time and the last person to .400 in a season said "Baseball hitting is the only endeavor where someone can only be successful 3 times out 10 and still be considered a success".
Baseball is a country onto its self with its own culture language and customs. For instance, every team has its own set of announcers with its own set of slang terms and sayings.
That's crazy that they have their own language. Been checking out some of the different written and unwritten rules and I can definitely feel baseball is its own world
Here's a couple of videos you might like 1) the science of hitting you might like. ruclips.net/video/KhpKr1YvyRM/видео.html 2) Think you can hit a big league pitcher. I think is a little misleading as the camera perspective makes the pitcher look like they are further away than they are.

"the 90% mental" comes form Yankees catcher yogi Berra
"Baseball is 90 percent mental. The other half is physical."
Yogi Berra once said ""If you don't go to people's funerals they won't come to yours.".

HI, GUY. Keep it up.
Thanks, will do!😁
What are you talking about? Learn the game. Then preach.
You talk to much.
Dude lose the annoying freaking music background. Distracting and overrides understanding what you are saying.
