A tip to make your yearbook process a little less time consuming is to create a homeschool album on your phone and everyday / week / when you have time, move the pictures to that file and at the end of the year they will all be there. That’s what I did at the beginning of this year when I decided that I wanted to do this.

You spoke on your Nashville outfit...my hubby is over the Entertainment District in Nashville. So many themed bachelorette parties and the stories that go along with a nightly shift down there.

We have a similar work environment for my husband- he is eligible to retire in 2.5 years and we are planning to take it! Like you, I say we as we have also built our life and traveled this difficult journey together!

You should make the drive down to AFHE convention in Phoenix. I've been homeschooling (officially) for 12 years and attended the convention for 15 years (not 2020). And every year I come away with something since every year seems to bring a slightly new season as my kids grow. One of my favorite parts is worship every day before the keynotes with thousands of other homeschoolers. I would guess that 90% of the speakers and 80% of the vendor hall is Christian. It's refreshing. Spiritually at least. Walking from the hotel in 115 degree heat in downtown concrete is not so refreshing.
My husband is the same, without saying too much my hubby was in the army in the past but now he’s like your husband, same job, and works for the fed govt and he has less than 10 yrs to full retirement.
You answered my retirement question:) Thank you! I didn’t realize your husband was in law enforcement (here in Canada we’d refer to that as a “pension”) so all good, makes total sense. We are small business owners, so no pension, but we save in stocks etc., to also ensure that when retirement comes we have (hopefully) a good pot stored up! What I was going to say though…is that I love the idea of early retirement if it’s financially possible regardless of how people did it. I think our culture sometimes can frown on that idea of spreading our wings sooner than later, letting go of the 9-5 and continuing to explore and adventure while we are still healthy and young enough to do it! Not to say we retire in our 50s and never do anything or any sort of job again, but to have the freedom to work when/how you want is huge and finances and “financial freedom” will be something we really chat about with our kids as they get closer to adulthood:) I feel it’s a missing link in talks with youth in general.
i have actually toyed around with this idea, but theres a few concerns i have. 1. safety 2. logistics haha it would be soooo much, and I'm not sure thats what I have capacity for right now

At my job I am able to retire at the age of 51, same as my father. I have seen the importance of finding a small job or hobby to keep your mind and body working while enjoying an early retirement. I also have a job that not many people want but has great benefits.
