This is the final part in finishing off this build!
Very awesome rebuild ❤ 5:35
Thank you! My wife picked out the colors.
Great job🎉
Not bad for your first trailer. Now you can pull all the windows and put in the flashing. (You can get the supplies and advice from any window installation company.) Those Jalouse windows WILL leak like a sieve and all the water will run down into your walls and rot our all your new wood. While you're at it, pull all the emblems and get them re- plated.
I had actually replaced the seals in the jalouse windows because I couldn’t afford to replace any windows at that point. Unfortunately, I sold it about a year and a half ago. A little after it was finished.
Beautiful!!
Looks great
Awesome job on. The painting.
Thank you
Looks great!
Thank you
Awesome rebuild! I've done a couple Airstreams, I have a 1985 Fleetwood prowler and now I have an early 60s Mayflower that I've just acquired. These things are a lot of fun!
You did a great job with the paint work. I would guess that the sanding was very tedious if not nearly impossible especially in the teal colored sections that seem to have texture in the aluminum. Roughly how much time did you spend preparing to paint and then doing that sanding?
The caulk sealant that you used seems like a lifesaver product. I have used some gutter sealant on my airstreams and it works great because of the aluminum color. But I have not tried painting over that product and so now I know a product that suits the purpose and is paintable.
Thanks for sharing all of this online. Informative and also an inspiration
Its beautiful ❤️
Nice
Thank you
amazing i HAVE AN 85 I am working on now!!
I hope it goes well for you
That's the only right way to do it. Spraying on house paints ect looks like trash this is a real restoration
The sealant you showed was the self-leveling kind. Is that really what was used? If so, didnt it run?
Question. What type of paint did you use? Im looking for that high gloss finish. Camper looks great
I used The Restoration Shop single stage automotive paint and high build primer.
And thank you
How did you get the window frames so shiny? Thanks
I have another video where I pull the windows, polish them and then reseal them.
Self leveling runs i read. Any issues with that? Beautiful job!
I didn’t use self leveling it was hi-build but I had to go real slow because it was barely spraying because I forgot to turn up the air volume knob on the bottom of the gun. 🤦♂️
And thank you!
Looks good! And came in under budget right?
Yeah….. so about that. After we finished it we decided what our budget was and we came in just under it.
if you dont mind, do you have a estimate of how much it cost to redo the rv? up to the paint portion, debating buying a 16-17ft 1989 shasta cheyenne thats been half gutted already to redo with my girlfriend and the input would be greatly appreciated
Take whatever budget you think it’ll take and triple it. 😁 we were in about $12k total
why does everyone use the fantasy colors? nothing like coming out and getting blinded by the reflecting sun, or worse you got a flood light in the forest ..,
Honestly I would just ditch the background music. The info is great, but the music ruins it, and I imagine it's more work for you to raise and lower the volume, etc. I'm a musician, so it's not that I hate music ;-) Make your life easier ;-)
I really appreciate the feedback. It’s hard for me to tell what is going to help the engagement, so any feedback is great!
