    I dyed my hair light brown three months ago and decided to go back to blonde, I wanted to make a tutorial showing the highlighting process.
    Hoping to make more fun tutorials!

    You actually dont want to color or lift with clean hair... dirty hair works best. The oils protect your scalp and hair from damage and irritation. Also color holds better in dirty hair. 🙂

      I usually wait for my hair to be dirty or oily before coloring or bleaching, I just found it is easier to pull through the cap if it is clean.

      Kristen Ashley Mermaid even if your hair is dirty, you can spray a detangler on before you put the cap on. Honestly I recommend something so stupid simple, like Johnson & Johnson’s tear free detangler (green bottle, baby aisle at target).
      But on a side note, come over and do my hair please!

      Girl.... no ... dirty scalp is good to protect your scalp it will do nothing for your hair and color takes better to clean hair wtf lol

    I used this kit today and washed it out too soon. I'll be trying again soon. Thanks for the demo!

      Careful! Last time I used this kit I left it in TOO long and ended up with a LOT more breakage. I suspect the developer in this kit is a 40 volume (Although it doesn't say). I think next time I highlight my hair, I will use Schwarzkopt Blondme bleach (very gentle, highly recommend also) and 20 volume and get a pull through cap from Sally's since it will be highlighting over previously bleached strands.

      Kristen Ashley Mermaid It says on the developer bottle now that it’s a 35. I bought this kit but haven’t used it. I’m thinking your idea of using the Schwarzkopf Blond Me and their 20 developer with a Sally’s cap with using a brush (since I have some long grown out highlights) may be the best way to go for me too, with its protective ingredients. My hair is fine and I’m afraid of breakage. This kit came out really nice on you. I saw you tried the Schwarzkopf Blonde Me/20 developer but you did your whole head. You could use any color or color combination and look gorgeous! Are you still doing your whole head platinum blonde now?

    You did a really nice job. I tried the cap method but could not for the life of me figure out how to pull my hair threw the small holes.

    • @Lauren-vd4qe
      @Lauren-vd4qe 2 года назад +2

      you stick the hook end of the spatula sideways into the holes, hook onto a strand of hair, then pull it out through the hole.

    • @LadyMermaid
      @LadyMermaid  4 года назад +6

      Honestly this kit did cause some damage/breakage, I high recommend SchwarzKopft Blonde me bleach and developer (20 volume) it is WAY less damaging. I will actually be going completely platinum blonde here pretty soon using Schwarzkopt!

      I posted another video recently of using Schwarzkopf blondme on my hair, it was WAY less damaging than this kit. I highly recommend getting that bleach and using a highlighting cap from Sally beauty supply.

    MUCH EASIER if you prepoke the holes through BEFORE you put it on.

    Honey, your highlights look fabulous! I like how meticulous and precise you were. Try mixing Wella T18 and T27. Your color will have a balance of ash and beige. PEACE

    you're actually supposed to brush your hair straight back and not part it when using a cap, besides that it turned out great!

    Did you wash out the color toning rinse? Or did you leave it in and then style your hair?

    • @Jessicajsaylor
      @Jessicajsaylor 4 года назад +1

      I would like to know the same thing! Because I used this same highlight dye box and my hair came out very orangey so I then put that toner and I had thrown away the directions because I sworn it said not to rinse out to leave it in! So I did leave the toner in it and the next morning it died my hair blueish/purple and wouldn’t come out!? So I’m wondering if you’re supposed to leave that toner mix in or wash it out? That answer would help a lot

    • @Lauren-vd4qe
      @Lauren-vd4qe 2 года назад

      no just pull a bigger chunk of hair through the holes, u may have to go in thru the same hole to hook more strands.

      Yes, it won't change the color of darker hair, it only tones the blonde parts.
