Old time rock n roll was released in 1978
I recommend Turn the Page by Bob Segar
Old Time Rock and roll is one of my favorite songs lol
Johnny cash storytelling and his voice in his old age was amazing. Between this "hurt", when a man comes around, and "god will cut you down "
70's Rock is hands down some of the best.
Stephanie C ABSOLUTELY andthese guys are still rocking out in their 60’s and 70’s.
One thing you never have to apologize for is being away due to seeing your daughter. Family first.
"I've heard this before in something?"
Ya. TV commercials, movies, radio, radio commercials. Just about everywhere. Lmao
The song "I Hung My Head" was originally written and recorded by Sting. 1996 Mercury Falling album, which I still have. Great song. Great album. I love Cash's version though.
A really great story telling composition by Sting. But in the Sting version the message is drowned by the music. So just like you I love the Cash version more for it allows the story to pierce through you, as it's form connotes a more old western setting appropriate for the story, like it's also a movie not just a song.
@@MrKockabilly Very true. It's amazing how much the feel of a song depends on the artist.
Old Time Rock and Roll was released in the late 70s, sort of a protest song about disco music and Bob Seger was the original singer. You are listening to a love version. The radio single is actually a little faster paced. It has been covered a bunch since then.
Bob Segar....Night Moves
bob cigar his songs are smokin'
Lol I didn't even know who Bob was until this video and even I was like IT'S NOT CIGAR lol
Hands down, you are a favourite reactor to watch! So much fun :) Bless you! 💕
No one like Jonny Cash R.I.P.
I like johnny cash. He's the best
You need to be Holly Wood Nights and Night Moves by Bob Segar..
Vadershake turn the page
Night moves definitely
He's done night moves
At the end when he says I hung my head the person legit hung is head, words have many meanings
Metal bands like this are slept on along with symphonic metal bands because the US is all about promoting pop music. Foreign metal is where it's at.
The sock sliding Tom Cruse in "Risky Business"
Bro great reaction i loved it i was here for cash and you didn't disappoint ❤
You need to react to more Johnny Cash. "When The Man Comes Around", "Hurt", "Ain't Not Grave", and "God's Gonna Cut You Down"
Any Segar song is excellent!
Love this song!! Just makes you feel good!! Best rock song ever!!!Bob See-grrrr. Also sang Night Moves. Nice Reaction!!
if youve ever seen da movie risky business wit tom cruise, tom cruise dances to old time rock n roll in da movie
I was around when risky business was in the movie theaters back in the 80's.
@@hasanimiller4336 I was around too but a little kid. lol i was like wen it was in teaters
No, I grew up in the 80's. Magical 80's.
In his tighty whities. And it's Seger...See-gur.
@@hasanimiller4336 well yea so did i. lol born in 80
Yes Bob Segar
Joshua Weigang My favorite song by Bob Segar
BILLY....TYTY FOR REACTING TO THIS SONG....I WAS RAISED WITH
BOB SEGER..USE TO HAVE ALBUMS OF HIM...ROLLING STONES...
THE EAGELS(MY FAV)..ELVIS ETC...YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY RIGHT..
BOB'S BAND MEMBERS WERE AWESOME...
MUSIC THESE DAYS IS NOT WITH HEART & SOUL...
ON THE TV PROGRAM...THE VOICE..SEEMS LIKE YOUNG PEOPLE
SING SONGS LIKE THIS LOL
i WAS BLESSED GROWING UP WITH ROCK & ROLL....:)
The lack of comments about Myrath breaks my heart...The band is so highly under-rated its sickening. They are very unique. A metal band from Tunisia...that combines Metal and classic Arabian/Tunisian music. Sings mostly in English with some Islamic mixed in.
Myrath is something else...
Old time Rock n roll was my dad's favorite song.
If you're a Veteran, you've DEFINITELY heard this before. Even if in passing, like passing thru the Barracks!👍
I love the pronunciation of Bob Cigar lol
Bob Segar is the pride of Detroit rock. This is the original of this song. His last concert tour was a couple years ago and he filled the venues.
Johnny Cash could have sung about a lollipop and made it sound like an epic. He had an incredible voice.
Off that topic: A song to think about listening to is White Russian by Marillion
Johnny Cash a true storyteller !!!!!
So happy you know Bob Segar he is the original.
Johnny Cash is the man!
Check out bob Segar like a rock. That was my dad's favorite song and he made me promise to play it at his funeral. So I did.
SEEEE ger
Myrath, i love this band, please reacting to Beyond the stars
Chuck Berry, Little Richard and Elvis are some of the old timers of Rock and Roll
Johnny Cash gets you like that...every time. If you can find it, I suggest you listen to Dear Mrs. No need to react to it, just check it out. It's not a really a song as much as him talking to music, but I found it powerful and it really moved me. I love it to this day.
This recording of this song is from Bob's, Nine Tonight live album, from 1981. I have an original copy from when it was released. Half of the album was recorded in Boston, Mass, and the other half was recorded in Detroit.
Bob Segar is the original writer and performer of this song as far as I know. I think everyone else took this from him. Bob Segar and the Silver Bullet Band. Segar ruled the 1970s. The man from Dee-troit! Check out the Live version, it will blow your socks off!
No, the definitely don't make music like this anymore. Love me some old time rock and roll. You kids have no idea how great our music was and still is today. I love seeing you all discover these old classics.
Bob Segar was original. Done back in the early/mid 70's
Trust me Billy, we knew you didn't know anything about Bob Segar when you called him Bob Cigar and his hit song Old Town Rock and Roll. ;)
Lol ikr I didn't even know who Bob was until this video and even I was like IT'S NOT CIGAR lol
It’s the one and only
Bob Seger ('Seegar') songs worth your time:
Even Now
Makin' Thunderbirds
Shame On The Moon
Roll Me Away (from the movie 'Mask' - not the Jim Carey thing, the 1985 one with Cher, Eric Stolz & Sam Neil (EXCELLENT film too BTW))
Well one things for sure he had pretty good aim
Like literally he must have had godlike aim to hit that Rider somewhere where it would kill him instantly from that great a distance
it is See gur and also.. When i was 8-9 or so I got to sit on Johnny Cashes lap and listen to my Grandparents have a beer with The Highwaymen.
There's not enough Johnny Cash reactions. All of his songs have that effect. Check out Man in Black
When Myrath Believer came on for some reason my mind went straight to Jack Black and Kevin Glass. Sounds very Tenacious D
Bob Segar
Try "Hollywood Nights" from Bob Seger! He has dozens of great songs you could react too!
I love your commentary
Bob Seger, Night Moves is a good one. I used to listen to that song when I was to young to understand what that song ment. lol Don't think my mom was paying attention to the words either.
This song was written by sting from the police, he wrote it because he was inspired by old Western movies
Old time rock is just such a good song it stands the test of time. Its covered by so many artist in concert, always gets a crowd hoping just like billings head bobbing.
Bill Segar is the original singer of this song.
Myrath is cool. Oriental metal! Try one of their official videos. They're good. The official video has far more views for this song.
This is a live version of this song. So that's why it sounds different. It's also im the movie risky business
More Cowbell!!! 🤘
Bob Seger is amazing! He is my father’s favorite artist to the extent that I was named after his song, “Jody Girl”
Down on Main street. By him is great
Bob cigar is a classic musician. Love him
Totally love this♥️ I’m seeing him in concert in October. He has a lot of hits. Do a live one. Turn the page, Against the wind, Nite Moves so many hits. 🧡 NAME is Pronounced SEE-GER. 🎸🧡
I can see it too! What a great song!
This song was on the soundtrack of Risky Business with Tom Cruise
Risky Business with Tom Cruise. He sings the song in his underwear when the parents are away.
Bob Seger ( pronounced see ger). This song is in Risky Business, Tom Cruise singing and dancing to it his underwear. Plus multiple commercials and everywhere.
Myrath ❤️❤️
Just an FYI, it's pronounced "SEE-GEHR" like meager but Segar. That said, I had figured you'd heard this one before! Most have, but like you, they didn't recognize it. And there have been SEVERAL who've covered it - Nickelback, Bon Jovi, Rolling Stones, SOOOOO many! Bob was on it! If you ever get the chance, check out "Come Together" done by Joe Cocker, check the version from Across the Universe. WORTH IT!
Bob Segar = Bob See-grrrrr.
I'd like to see you react to Perfect by Simple Plan. It meant so much to me when I was a teenager.
Simple Plan entirely just has lovely music
Yes. This. All of Simple Plan though. Welcome to my Life meant so much to me as a teenager. And This song saved my life is about all their fans who wrote to them about how their music helped them through.
But do you know the words?🤪 Shoot! I couldn’t help but sing along!
Do some Jackson Browne “Rosie” or “Stay”. And Peter Frampton. “Do you feel like we do”. Peter was one of the first to use the talk box. It used his mouth to make his guitar sing to you. You can google guitar talk box for a better description
Metallica did a cover of a bob seger song called Turn the Page.
….and they totally sucked on that cover.....just sayin'.
@@MrBallisticbob I have to agree, and I like Metallica. It was unfortunate.
Oh yeah!!! Love me some Bob Seger - You'll Accomp'ny Me, Katmandu, Turn the Page, Her Strut, Roll Me Away, etc. Love the Johnny Cash one. And that middle song was dead cool, but for some reason I was so getting "Eurovision Scandi-metal" vibes.
Billy: It's not all in the computer
Me: They didn't have computers in the music industry back then buddy. And also, it's pronounced Seeger.. not ciger :)
Jeez
See Payne: They didn't have computers in the music industry back then buddy. And also, it's pronounced Seeger.. not ciger :)
Me: Yes they did indeed have and use computers in the music industry back then buddy. Also, if you're going to correct someone's pronunciation in visual text format perhaps you should use actual symbols for vowel sounds. Bob Sēgĕr :).
1. Segar is See ger
2. Myrath sounds like an 80s power ballad they are Tunisian
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Myrath
3. I hung my head was apparently a cover
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I_Hung_My_Head
This Old Time Rock n Roll is recorded live, so the album version is the one you’re probably familiar with, and the tempo is a little faster.
That is possibly a live version so it is faster in the studio version.
Bob Seger is from Michigan and he is the original singer of this song you should react to turn the page by Bob seger it is one of those song you would listen to in a bar and drink not get drunk just drink
If you've seen Risky Business with Tom Cruise. You would've heard a small clip of the song in the one scene. Also. The Flash sort of does a skit from Risky Business which contains this song as well. :D
When you get a chance react to the movie Risky business with Tom Cruise. It has the Iconic Dancing in the Under wear scene in it
Bob segar
Roll me away also Bob's we've got toi
Billy, my daughter says you need some Panic At The Disco in your play list. She watches with me. She said please listen to "I Write Sins Not Tragedies " or "Death Of A Bachelor " she would love to watch it.
Bob Cigar? nice.
This live version is a little slower and more country sounding than the studio version...I prefer studio. A killer live performance by Segar is "Her Strut". Check it out 👍
Bob Seger actually re-wrote Old Time Rock & Roll for his 1978 album Stranger in Town. The song was originally wrote by George Jackson with different lyrics except for the chorus. Bob didn’t even take writing credit for it. The version you heard was from his second live album “Nine Tonight” the sped up version you mentioned is the one heard in Risky Business and the guitar hero commercials
Sea...ger... is how you say it hahaha
I like you showing your range in this 3 piece reaction. Seger and cash was and are storytellers and are legends. The believer song sounds pretty good, never heard of the band or song before. Sounds like something for a Rocky or Creed training montage or something.
Bob Seger Ol Time Rock n Roll is instant feel good music! Another instant feel good song if you haven’t covered it yet is Ram Jam’s Black Betty.
It's SEE-GER !!
Please react to Johnny Cash's cover of "Hurt." It is so amazing!
This is a classic on risky business Tom cruise dancing I. His underwear
Believe it or not... Bob Seger didnt want to record this song.... but he eventually did and still 1 of the greatest songs of all time!!
Please react to The Impossible by Joe Nichols or two black caddilacs by Carrie Underwood!
Yes to both
Funny you thought it said old Town rock and roll, when I was a kid I thought it was "old timer rock and roll". Funny what kids hear
The thing about Johnny Cash and other great artists, they are great story tellers. Check out Jim Croce, lovers cross or one less set of footsteps.
I got a name or operator
Bob Seger
One of the best Johnny Cash songs.
I agree with you Billy mate music these besides a rare few have no soul and just enough mediocre talent to still be called them music artists especially new age pop, mumble rappers and people who just sing in auto-tune or don't use their own voice to "sing" their songs, it's why I pretty much just listen to artists from min 90's and earlier and most rock.
Please try to react to Bob Segar "Turn The Page," "Night Moves," "C'est La Vie," "Still The Same," "Like A Rock."
The oldies you here are always better because you hear the best of the time. They made some bad music back then also they just don't play it now. And you hear every thing that comes out today the good and the bad.
