hello! I think this would be a great mic, but I have no clue what I would need and how to set it up to actually record a sound. Do you have a tutorial?

Hi! I'm really enjoying your videos, super informative and enlightening. I have a wireless clip on mic and I want to recommend better sounding covers. Would you recommend I get an audio interface sound card like behringer or a mixer? Also is a condenser mic necessary or is the clip on mic sufficient?
Hello Tuke, thanks for dropping by and for your kind words. I'm glad you have found my sharing informative. If your clip on mic is a USB mic then upgrading to a condenser mic is a better option. USB mics cannot work with audio interfaces not mixer boards. Having an audio interface is gold, you can better control the input of your sound so as to avoid unwanted peaks. When upgrading the process is, audio interface, mic, then (mixer board which is optional for out of home performances when you have to carry your own gear). If you already have a mic that has a quarter male jack, or XLR then then you don't need a new mic. This is the audio interface I've been using for the past 3 years: amzn.to/3qoEWqL. In terms of the sound quality, it's the sound that goes into your software initially and how you mix it that will make the greatest difference.
Hello, Michal. Great question! Yes, the PGA98H-XLR can work with the NUX B-3 Wireless Microphone System. What you will be do is converting a wired signal into a wireless signal. One consideration to keep in mind is that the belt hook on the PGA98H has a bit of weight, and adding the NUX connection will make it heavier. The alternative is to get a complete wireless set-up from Shure. Here's the link: amzn.to/3clORZ4
@@michaltanay2315 I'm glad you asked that question I totally forgot about the Phantom power. The NUX can only work with dynamic microphones. The PGA98H-XLR is a condenser mic. Sorry!
Thanks for dropping by. Because it doesn't have a clamp that's suitable for the body of the guitar I wouldn't recommend. It's better suited for saxophones and brass instruments.
@@KadrianThomas I am recording my saxophone similar to you. My recordings have a very thin range of frequencies. Like I am not getting the broad, voluminous range of the sound of my saxophone. I noticed I almost prefer phone recordings from distance. Any idea what is the issue? Secondly I am annoyed by the fact that the recordings include the sound of liquid in the saxophone too much.
@@schnecktec One thing to keep in mind is that when you record your sax into any device you'll need to build back the sound by adding some eq, delay, reverb and compression. Yes, if the gear is not so good you'll have some challenges. Better gear means less work. Although, you have to produce the best sound when you are recoding so that you can have the best quality when mixing.
@@schnecktec Great! do you mean that you paid someone $150 to loan you the gear? If you borrowed the gear for that amount you could have bought yourself this gear amzn.to/3yArXFE for that same price. This is the exact audio interface I've been using for several years.

I need advice this Shure PGA98H-XLR NUX will be working with B-3 2.4GHz Wireless Mic System ?

Does that microphone need phantom power to work
Hi, yes it does.
Beautiful indeed... By the way which make & model of saxophone you have used here ?
Thank you. The saxophone I use is a Yamaha Custom 82Z
@@KadrianThomas great 👍
Is it posiible to connect it straight to a mixer?
Yes, that's how it works. You can connect it straight to a mixer or audio interface.
Does this work well for string instruments too?
Sorry! I wouldn't suggest using this for string instruments.
Great Review Thanks!
Glad it was helpful! Peace!
Can you use one of these for acoustic guitar?

Very nice Mike how much sir Mike🎷 price
Hi, thanks. Use the link in the description. The price may change over time on amazon.
My recorded quality is very bad. Is it due to my low cost audio interface (M-track Solo)?
Hi, Cchnecktec. Great question.Bad is relative. What do you mean by bad and what are you recording? Your voice, an Instrument, what kind?

Update: I borrowed an interface for 150 bucks instead of my cheap one for 50 bucks. Big difference!
