Hello , thanks for the video. i have a question i am looking for a Microphone to record mi voice reading a storie , and i really like the melon ma 67 , do you think its a good choise for record voice reading a storie - book? thanks.
It's actually crazy how in a world where eggs cost like $8-10 a dozen, you can get a fantastic mic for like $90, and the prices just keep dropping every year for both mics and headphones/speakers/IEMs alike.
I would say to viewers that as a non professional musicians or recording expert. I can barely hear the difference which means that to the singers out there. train your voice.
Just my few cents.. In the future, also test the noise floor of the mics. For Voice Overs and voice actors doing quiet parts, the noise floor can play a huge role, and its those factors that sets companies like SE and AKG apart from others like Behringer. On cheaper brands you can actually hear the noise floor when doing quite parts, but not while singing etc.
I have the SE X1 USB and the AT2035 and you honestly can't go wrong with any of these mics starting out! It's your audio interface/preamp, and the sound treatment of your environment that's waaay more important. The MA-67 definitely seems impressive at this price range, but there's not much point if you don't properly treat your environment first.
Hey I just come across your RUclips channel other day and you were talking about music studio set up also talking about headphones. I wrote to say how I enjoyed watching the channel because well though out how you put everything together in video and edited, very clear and easy to follow if you gets me you know what I'm talking about. Hi Edward, I’m actually having a really difficult time. In your professional opinion, for VoiceOver between the AKG-p120 and the AT-2020. Which one would you advise???
Thanks for a great video... which affordable microphone do you think has the best sensitivity? My friend has MSA which has resulted in his vocal cords getting tremors & deteriorating, so his voice gets breathy and cuts in and out to the point that his phone mic can't pick up most of his voice and it sounds like his signal is dropping out. I can't understand most of what he says on the phone, and he is unable to use voice to text. Unfortunately, his whole body is affected so he can't do text to voice, either! Also, could you plug these into a smartphone? Or, would he need to use his laptop to make calls with messenger or zoom, etc.? Cheers.

Personally I like both microphones. If I had to try break it down via categories I like to focus on when buying a mic: Design - This is a preference thing. Build Quality - The MA-67 is built better than the spark. Capsule - MA-67 Accessories - MA-67 for me… (the Spark comes with a wooden box and the 67 does not… but I personally prefer the pop filter and carry bag because I would actually use the pop filter more)… ALSO A PREFERENCE THING Sound Quality - Both sound really good. The Spark sounds a bit more detailed, but can sound harsh and tinny at times. The MA-67 sounds smoother because it has more low end (which is something you only find in more expensive mics) So, for me when looking at price and what you are getting… the MA-67 stands out most 🫡
@@EdwardSmithMusic Oh, so I know which microphone to buy, thank you very much and regarding the build quality, it is true, I understand that the blue spark sl usually has damaged -20dbs switches and the high-pass filter.
