  • Today, we are featuring HOW TO FREEZE PERSIMMONS. This video shows that you need to wash, dice, and use a strong blender, for example, the Ninja Pro 1100, for this job. Once the persimmons are in liquid form, pour them into freezer bags. The persimmons will be good for up to six months and can be used throughout the year. This is a Vegan plant-based meal for your entire family.

    It's a big persimmon. It's good to eat.
    You also have a black dog.
    I've been taking care of the Black Dachshund for a very long time.
    You grind the persimmons and store them.
    That's a good way.

      Hello my friend, yes I used to do that, now I freeze them in their skins. I found out I did not like the persimmons all ground up. I have a black and white Basenji and I have a red and white Basenji. TJ is the black one and he is my buddy, Joy is the red and white and she belongs to the entire family but sleeps in my room. So I guess she is my buddy too. THank you for watching, Gary

      Beth, You are so welcome, and thank you for watching. I gave up the compost bc it was against the HOA rules. But I did it for a long time. What is a pawpaw? My name is Gary

    • @bethra.flowers
      @bethra.flowers 8 месяцев назад +1

      @@HealthyVeganLiving A Pawpaw is a north American native that has been practically wiped out of wild existance with urban development. It looks and feels like a mango on the outside but has many seeds on the inside. It tastes like a blend of mango, persimmon and hint of banana without the banana aftertaste. The texture is that of a pudding similar to Mamey or Custard apple. Here in Arkansas I rarely see them but was able to find some at a farmers market about 8 years ago.

    Ok so you freeze after blending. What do you DO with the persimmons after you thaw them out? How do you prepare them afterwards?

    • @HealthyVeganLiving
      @HealthyVeganLiving  3 года назад +2

      Hi Cynthia, take out a bag, I used quart size bags, place it in a large bowl, when the bags thaws they always damage the bag and they leak. Start using it immediately, after thawing, because it will only last 3 days. Then I start using it on my cereal in the morning. They are raw so they can be used in drinks, on toast, in breakfast cereal, in cooking. Is that the answer you needed. Use my email address in the comment section, and see if I answered your questions. Gary

    Never tasted this fruit! To me they just look like tomatoes :) Like!

      @HealthyVeganLiving  5 лет назад +1

      OK it would be a very sweet tomato and it comes from a tree. This fruit can live in cold climates you might have a smaller tree than I but it would be delicious. Gary

      Wonderful then you can plant the seeds and in 5 years you will have a big tree full of fruit. Gary

    Can we freeze them whole.

    • @HealthyVeganLiving
      @HealthyVeganLiving  2 года назад +1

      This is what I do, I have a new batch again. When the persimmon is very ripe, like a ripe tomato, then wash it cut it up, to remove the three seeds, and put the persimmon in a freezer bag, it will hold its flavor up to 3 years. I still have some that old and I use them for cooking and over my breakfast cereal. Check out my other uses for this fruit and soon I will be baking a persimmon bread for New Year. Thank you Ayape for watching and commenting on this video. Have a Merry Christmas and I hope you come again. My name is Gary

      @@HealthyVeganLiving Thanks Gary. Great info. Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. P.S. a neighbour of mine brought me over a hundred hachiya persimmons that aren’t ripe yet. I took them off the stems and lined them up on my dining room and kitchen tables. I’m giving some to my friends so they can enjoy them. 🕊💎❤️🌈 Cheers.

      Hachiya persimmon are exactly what I have and over here in Riverside County (USA) each cost over 5 dollars. I received mine from a good friend, and I return the favor by trimming her persimmon tree. Gary

    Save the trouble and you can simply freeze the whole fruit.

    • @HealthyVeganLiving
      @HealthyVeganLiving  Год назад +1

      No, you really can't, the reason why is that 3 seeds per persimmon need to be removed before freezing, skin does not need removal. I know some viewers that freeze the entire fruit, but opening up the fruit gave you a chance to see that the fruit is not damaged, has bad spots, etc. That is why I do it this way. Thank you Dale for watching, soon my Persimmon pie will be out for your review. Gary
