this is so Christina Aguilera's "Come on Over" aha. But on a serious note... i miss Stacie. I have tears in my eyes at this very moment..i miss her and love her will always be her biggest fan. -Christina-

same here. some kids in my youth group introduced me to contemporary Christian music and i was like, "what?? this is christian music". When i thought of christian music i thought of hymns and southern gospel lol
This album was fire I used to wear this album out back in my highschool days, ah the memories. I wasn't really feeling her 2nd album when she signed to virgin records, she tried to go leftfield with her sound. But the genuine album was top notch.
This is by far my favorite Stacie video that I've seen. It's beyond adorable. I always liked this song but I never saw the video before. I didn't know Stacie back in 2000. My first taste of her was in 2003 with "Stuck".
🙋 normally I do not listen to this type of music however there is something about Stacie orrico voice and music that is fantastically out of this world. When she sings she sounds like a very beautiful goddess of an Angel. Also she has a soothing voice I guess you can say. Anyway there's just something about her music that I cannot get enough of. Stacie's music is just that good. Hopefully she's going to be working on new music soon. Would love to hear a new CD by her with all new songs.
I only know this song because one summer I didn’t have cable so I was watching a Christian cable network and they had a countdown. This song and shackles by Mary Mary were my jam lmao simpler times.
Omg, I saw stacie at the big fresno fair years ago while in middle school! Her voice is so calming and amazing. She really communicates thru her music. She seems like she has a genuine soul. I'm not even "christian" and these songs speak to me. Stacie got me thru a lot in high school.
I remember watching this music video on like a WOW music video compilation or something. Summer between sophomore and junior years of high school? Even then, I thought there was too much orange going on here, but the lyrics are great, and the song, with its hip-hop edge, is a refreshing difference from so much of Christian pop.
I rememebr first discovering this beautiful song at the bible book store in Newark CA when I was 11 yearsold. My mom would bring my siblings and me along with her while she’d shop for Sunday school supplies for her students. They had listening stations near the store entrance where we’d browse through different Gospel jams, headphones on full blast.. replaying my favorites over and over again 😂
My sister gave me this cd on my 11th birthday before things turned ugly between us. I still have the cd to this very day and I'm turning 20 and I still listen to this song and sing her music
@@abebahena727 unfortunately I don't think that will ever happen. My sister is very Narcissistic and is obsessed with me. I literally just got a boyfriend 2 months ago and within a couple days of me and him being a couple she started stalking him on Facebook. At one point because of her stalking and sending implied death threats about me I had to take her to court for a restraining order. That's not to mention the abuse she did to me as a kid that has resulted in me getting Severe CPTSD. Some people are just best loved from a distance. I love my sister to death, but I will never let her back into my life because of how toxic she is.
I really love Stacy even with me not being Christian anymore. She has so much talent and I'm so happy how she has grown into a beautiful woman. It brings back great memories. I remember seeing this video and listening to this song and how much I loved it. It was like wow this is Christian music? It was a real special time back then. There was a lot of creative and talented bands. It was a great time to be a teenager. Oh the 1990s! My youth I miss so much 😢 but I also embrace the future!
You’re not alone. A lot of us that grew up listening to Stacie no longer follow the faith. Hell, neither does Stacie after leaving CCM in 05 & the faith nearly a decade ago.
Can’t believe this music came out 20 years ago. I miss this sound and her so much. Still follow her on Instagram though even though I don’t think she’s ever coming back
she lives in washington, i live there too, and as far as i kno, she works in a bar. but she's supposed to be recording for her 4th album. and this was the first time i saw her and found out about her music way back in 2000. what a great song and i love her voice! i can't wait 'til she returns with another album
Sprinkle Spangle I think you can tell she obviously listened to christina aguilera a lot because there is a lot of similarities in they way the sing these sorts of songs
weetacker Stacie was signed in 98, and came out during the time of the pop explosion. As someone else stated, they had a lot of the same influences and singers they enjoyed. Stacie did not grow up on Christina’s music, because they came out around the same time. Stacie at the time was often referred to as the “gospel/Christian” Christina.
@@weetacker I don't think so, in an interview she stated she didn't listen to Christina or Britney, she was influenced by people like Lauryn Hill, Crystal Lewis, Whitney Houston, etc. But at that time all pop music sounded the same.
OMG I haven't heard this song since 2000 !! I used to watch the music video on Sky Angel, they played it this song a lot. I was 9 years old. Good times :[
I loved her music as a teenager!!! It's very unfortunate that she stopped singing for Jesus and turned to the world though... It's really a shame. She's a little similar to Rachael Lampa they were popular around the same time, but Rachael stayed true to her faith and still sings for God...and Stacie went the other way...
I Don't Agree with you at all. She doesn't have to say Jesus in every song to prove that she is a Christian. In her second album, she became more grown and was experiencing more things in live so she included more of it in her second album, which is totally ok. She did not take her clothes off and sing about crazy stuff she was telling the stories of her life and also singing about her faith and advising people. I think it's a misconception that a lot of People create. If you compare Stacy to her peers at that time, you can clearly see the difference Christina Agulara and Britney were totally wordly in their style, the lyrical content, the Message, the Sex everything they did was to promote darkness, and Stacy did totally the opposite. I understand what you try to say, but her music never felt Wordly to me. The way she was presented herself through her music was the key and also she helped a lot of people with her music.
I like Stacie, and I like Christina Grimmie. They both have two different voices. They both sing amazingly. So you guys shouldn't compare them with one another.
This album still holds a place in my heart. A solid mix of pop, R&B, & a dash of gospel. Literally, a hodgepodge of Christina, Aaliyah, & DC sounds.
Miss her music. She never dressed inappropriate in any of her videos. Met her years ago. Was thrilled and happy.💓💓💓
this is so Christina Aguilera's "Come on Over" aha.
But on a serious note...
i miss Stacie. I have tears in my eyes at this very moment..i miss her and love her will always be her biggest fan.

I miss you Christina xx ❤️ God bless
We love you 🤎
Christina Aguilera? No, this Stacie Orrico, giving young women hope in God, not in men and the world. Two different messages!
This is so "what a girl wants" no doubt!

i agree, I wore this album out. She used alot of rnb sound which i loved
This is so Destiny's Child's "Say My Name", one of the influences for Stacie
That’s because Matthew Knowles signed her.
@@DayvidDavis this is true.
She's so young in this video. The album Genuine was released when she was 14.
Happy 20 years to this album!!!
This was Stacy’s Christian album! We still listen to it!
stacie was wayyyy ahead of her time in the Christian music world
I LOVE THIS SOUND OF THE LATE 90s AND VERY EARLY 2000s 😢😢

Stacie Orrico’s video Genuine does give me Destiny’s Child say my name vibes and the song sounds like What A Girl Wants by Christina Aguilera.
Beyoncé's father managed her.
