Albania has a huge potential for tourism. I have travelled through whole country from Montenegro and visited Gjirokaster and Ksamil. Those were really nice places with very kind people. There are problems as in every country and Albania has a long way to solve them, but at the end I think this country is beautiful and I will surely come again! The gipsies are the same in every country they live in, dont be fooled they live like this only in Albania. Its very hard to integrate them into major society.
Well I am from Albania and I want to share with you that things have changed a lot in 4 years. We have done a lot of progress and we are almost closing the landfills and conserving the waste to turn them into gasses. People arent collecting cardboard or metals anymore but they are working legally in the landfills maintenance. This is a lot of progress but we have a lot more to do!

The food here is also delicious and healthy. I mean the traditionally cooked. People here are very welcoming and the prices aren't high either. Someday in the future, those dumping sites will be *GOLD MINES,* as plastic wastes are now re-convertible to oil, compostable to soil by lab-made bacteria, etc. Science is making new advancements in breaking down plastics. I watched a very old woman go through the bins every night at my hotel on Rruga Paverasia looking for items to sell and buy food. Call Albanians what you like, but they get off their ass, to work hard and earn money. A country where Muslims and Christians walk together. In Albania the one thing that came from the west was Ponzi schemes. The sucked the country dry in less in then 5 years. I think only Moldova suffered true a bigger economic collapce. For Moldova it was the loss of the Eastern block's internal market. The guy who is struggling to make payment's on his truck, could just set up a pick-up route. He could start with other businesses first, and install side rails on the truck at a 20 degree angle to maximize how much he can pick up in one run. Over the years, I have seen many stories told in these documentaries, of poor people around the world. They are neither hopeless or helpless. They just need many legs up. Poverty is one hell of a hole to climb out of.

Yeah the Albanians are poorest in Europe for last 2 decades. That's why they emigrated to Kosovo (Serbia) and Macedonia (ex Yugoslavia), Yugoslavia welcomes them as their own, allowing them to build a mosques (Not a single EU country allows it) They have at least 6 to 9 kids each married couple. And now 50 years later they took Kosovo and probably Macedonia in near future.

Over the years, I have seen many stories told in these documentaries, of poor people around the world. They are neither hopeless or helpless. They just need many legs up. Poverty is one hell of a hole to climb out of.
It doesnt help that they have had no education so have no idea how to get out of the cycle they and their families have lived in

@@andrejkumer Food there is more expensive than cigarettes and smoking is an addiction as far as I know.Again the majority of the people shown on the video are living on the borders of poverty and they never had the opportunity to change their life.The problem with this documentary is that is showing only a fragment of how Albania is.The country itself is divided between the very rich and the very poor.The government is so corrupt that supports only the handful of wealthy families that get richer by stepping on the head of the low socio-economical class.You might have a valid point saying that these people are starving to death and ironically they smoke instead of buying food.Also , don't forget that most of these people don't have the basic education on how to seek a quality way of life, when the only thing they can do is find ways to survive in a country that doesn't care for them.

This is a minority of Albanian population and as such they have their traditions (most of Albanians don’t marry 12-13 years old ,we don’t have kids 15 years old and not all of us collects trashes😐) this documentary describes partially the reality! Some things are much better and other things much worse but looks to me like this documentary tries to generalize the problem and at the same time doesn’t dare to go deeper and investigate for real!

Yeah the Albanians are poorest in Europe for last 2 decades. That's why they emigrated to Kosovo (Serbia) and Macedonia (ex Yugoslavia), Yugoslavia welcomes them as their own, allowing them to build a mosques (Not a single EU country allows it) They have at least 6 to 9 kids each married couple. And now 50 years later they took Kosovo and probably Macedonia in near future.
