Salah not nominated for the balon dor again despite 39 GA last year. The most disrespected player of all time. If this man was European we would never hear the end of it. But the truth is, because of where he is from, he has to work 3 times more to get similar respect as others.

Absolutely outrageous that Salah was not nominated for the Ballon d'Or in the 30 man shortlist. The greatest winger in premier league history and still performing consistently for both last year (while being injured for 3 months) and this season already and is still omitted from it.

Craig Burley is right in saying that it's early days and we shouldn't draw too many conclusions yet, but at the same time, Arne Slot is simply tweaking what Klopp built last season. He's not making things worse is he? Liverpool already look better than last season and hopefully they can push City and Arsenal a bit further than they did last season.
Arsenal is probably gonna get 3rd or 4th if every team stays the way they are with no injuries
Not conceding the first goal in every game is a great start. Last season we drew with Luton , so that's another positive making sure we put these teams away.
I think the tough part will be injuries and squad depth. I feel like AFC and MCFC have deeper squads with better quality. Could be tough to maintain form if key players have to play all the major games in the league and CL and the two cups!

The good thing Arne has done was to give Gravenberch a key role in mid, where Klopp often played him as a super-sub. Also with a 4231 formation with high press, seem to work well in surprising opponents early in the season to give Arne much needed love and support from adoring fans singing praises….
Most notable for me Is not conceding the first goal in every game , the full backs play where full backs should play and asking TAA to take responsibility as a defender. Also glad to see Gravenbach given game time.
Yeah last year, even though we were winning a lot, we knew deep down we would struggle eventually if we kept conceding first. This season we look rock solid.

Arne Slot is the new big thing in football now...He's right up there with Pep Ancelotti and Arteta in terms of tactics and only when he get the chance to actually play them we can know who's who but until then Slot has introduced a new style of football that can be seen as Jurgen Klopp 2.0 minus the mistakes!! Yes he's better than Klopp and this is coming from a huge Klopp fan as even Klopp himself would admit it to himself being the fair humble smart man he is because Jurgen never managed to plug those gaps at the back no matter what he tried it was always there and could hurt you from almost any opposition which was pretty crazy and depressing at times..now Slot plays the same attacking football but much more realistic and calculated which is exactly what Liverpool needed!

People forget how defensively sound we were under Klopp for multiple seasons we went like 1-2 league losses like back to back seasons with Klopp
These lot need to calm down and not get ahead of themselves. Big Ange won 26 points from his first 30 in the Premier League last season. But has only won 44 points from 93 since. The point being that new managers can start off very hot and catch the league off guard. But if they don’t adapt they will eventually get found out. All the best to Slot but just a word of caution to these pundits to not get ahead of themselves.

That's true but it's not the same situation. Ange is stubborn and refuses to adapt to the opponent and persists on playing all out attacking football even when he doesn't possess the personnel. Slot on the other hand is far more technical and tries to adapt to the opponent. There's also a big difference in the quality of the squads.

Craig eats up all the air time and constantly interrupts Shaka when he’s speaking. Shaka is a good sport about it but I’d be disinterested too if I had a colleague who ate up all the air time, constantly interrupted others, and appears to be in love either way their own voice.

Klopp arrived in October 2015 so had no pre season and had to rebuild an entire team. Slot had it easy, and an easy run of fixtures to start.

I think a lot of people are forgetting we were amazing last year under Klopp with this team and we dominated so many games without winning near the end. Do the fans forget, we dominated City in that game at Anfield and we had never done that, but we couldn't take our chances. We had over 30 shots against United and couldn't score and it was 0-0.
We also had such bad luck with VAR against Tottenham where we probably could have won. We had a deadset handball against Arsenal turned down by VAR against Arsenal which we drew and of course that kick in the chest by Doku against City where we should have got a pen at the end of the game. Then you add in all our poor finishing that cost us so many games and we surely would have won it last season. The only reason we are going better this season is our finishing has been SO MUCH BETTER and of course the clean sheets help.
Look at Moh’s stats that’s mental🤯 I know he was good but this is incredible🤯

I was equally disappointed but not exactly shocked by McManaman's luke-warm answer for Slot's start.
The dreaded 12:30 pm game was an Ipswich Town who was ready for a "moment game," in that it was a newly promoted team with a raucous crowd behind them at a small pitch stadium looking to have the same "moment" Luton Town did against LFC.
Fast forward to a so confident Brentford side, that they're not even including Ivan Toney in their lineup and so far it doesn't look like it matters. Wissa and Mbeumo have started the season off well, but it just so happens that Anfield is a fortress and despite the unusually quiet crowd adjusting to this controlling tempo of Slot, Liverpool once again held on to a clean sheet and outperformed them.
Now move on to a game that no matter form or momentum, derby rivalries come down to just how bad you want it. This Man U team had held chest from their performances last season where they got draws and a extra-time victory against us Reds. It could be said that win and the eventual FA Cup title win are why ETH even still has a job. Old Trafford is never an easy place to win, much less score and control the game and that is what the Reds did. So when you hear someone say, "Oh it's just any of the aforementioned, or oh it's only three games you have to retort by saying any game in the Premier League is a potential banana peel that can send you reeling. Not only navigating but creating an identity and confidence amongst your players is a true asset and testimony of a well coached team. Plain and simple give props and keep evaluating the process.

My worry is that Trent wants the same money as Salah which would put the club in a difficult position because they won't have two players on 350k+ a week which is why neither have signed new deals

They seem to give up a lot less chances compared to last season; I think we only had 3 clean sheets all of last season, every match we seem to go 1-0 and need to score 2-3 to win matches.
As a gooner I would take Salah on loan anytime. True student of the game.

Good start, but let's see how LFC will perform between the international breaks and after the next international break. Both Pep and Slot are curious if their teams can win 10 out of 10. But gladly to see that many fans see that Slot is not a bad head coach because he is Dutch, bald and from the Eredivisie.

I don’t know why there is so much talk about arne , its way too early to talk about the football however the way he walked in after a generational manager like klopp & commanded the squad and made them play a different style without much fuss is amazing and should be talked about more he managed the dressing room brilliantly as for the PL their next 5 fixtures are quite easy & then there is arsenal i can very much see them go perfect 8 games in 24 points going to the emirates which would be fantastic its very early on so the team will only get better with time , the international break will help players like nunez chiesa some youngsters to bed in and get more work under slot especially nunez who didn’t have much preseason and is like under huge pressure to make things tick along. So yeah if they manage a top 3 finish & idk like at least quarter finals of the ucl i d call that a successful season a cup win would just be an extra icing on the cake
He's been wonderful, absolutely wonderful, but the club cannot be held to ransom by any 1 player. Salah will be the one to have to choose between what LFC can afford and what Saudi can offer.

Craig always such a downer on LFC. No one discusses Klopp had about 10 significant injuries to KEY players last year for large chunks of season…yet still sat atop the table w/ few weeks to go. Nobody wants to speak on it…(example- Alisson missed almost half last szn,..Thiago & Matip neither barely played one minute all year. Jota & Diaz, Robertson,& Trent , etc etc etc all missed significant time, that’s just off my head bc there were more. Yet still LFC were in contention until in the very end it all dissolved. Lol. They LOVE sleeping on LFC which I’m sure LFC or their fans don’t care but it’s just weird tbh. Context matters.

Klopp rinsed the squad most years and it showed at the end of the season, they ran out of steam. Slots approach is more progressive rock and I'm hopping they won't be shot at end of this season.
