Yes they lost a lot of soldiers, Blackbeard played them in his hands, and their stronghold is hanging by a thread at the end of the war but they succeeded to accomplish more than what they need to do; not only did they killed Roger's bloodline but they also killed *the strongest man alive*
@@UrDadAintHome actually, wb won the war entirely. WG used ace as an example of committing piracy. But instead of decreasing the number of pirates, wb announces that one piece is real and gave adrenaline rush to people to become pirate to find one piece.

Yeah man. Blackbeard is a cool character indeed. I like him as a pirate a lot. He's cunning, opportunistic, rational. His character as a villain is just top notch. And all now need is a backstory. He has the potential to be the best villain in the whole series. (So far my most favourite villains are 1. Crocodile 2. Arlong 3. Dofflamino).
