Chrissie, have you made any tutorials in your little fabric books? I love them and I'm trying so hard to figure them. Are the pages decorated muslin that is sewn together? Your work is so pretty!
ruclips.net/video/bIHHeecuKRg/видео.html Candy, I haven't really done a tutorial but the above link is to a video I did show one way I had worked out how to do fabric pages. As for my little fabric books I just use separate pieces of fabric for the pages which I embellish individually and then just sandwich together and sew around them. Hope that makes sense but if not let me know and I will try and explain it better :) The pages are usually calico or whatever other fabric I have that I think will work.

Love, love. love the way this pouch turned out! and I too would cover the areas where the seams are visible. I love to use tule and fibers to add softness, I always for get to tea dye cheese cloth when I do the avocado or tea, or coffee dying lol Loved the result of this pouch! Thank you so much for taking the time to make a tutorial, I know how much time they take. : ) God Bless
Dear Chrissie, I think this might be the first video I saw when I discovered your channel. Also one with your granddaughter. Thanks for this I love your style.

Hi Crissie! Just saw this tutorial and I love it! The simplicity of it is fabulous and I'm now going to make one for my laptop. Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful work!
Thank you sweet Chrissie, this is beautiful and I learned a lot, so now I might need to try it myself. I think you are a pro at tutorials, didn't seem like a first!! xoxoxo
+Lin Tresadern Hello Lin, Thank you for watching and by all means give it a try with glue. If you use a glue specifically for fabric it should work ok. Chrissie x
Thankyou for the wonderful tutorial. I have a few questions are there different kinds of cheese cloth? Also on the muslin, I have only seen something that appears thick and kind of more like canvas. Is there another name for what you used, it looked very thin, filmy, and lovely. Love your style
Hello and thank you for your comment and questions. Yes, there are different cheese cloths...some are a lot coarser than others but I think maybe I have confused you a little as I tend to use both the words 'cheese cloth' and' muslin' for the same fabric. I did notice I had done this in my video. I hope I have clarified this for you and not made it too confusing. Chrissie :)
Thank you so much Chrissie for your wonderful tutorial....I love all your work. I have sewn all my life from being a little girl and now I am trying my hand at junk journals and this sort of work. I have noticed that you pop into your projects “words of wisdom” printed on fabric.....how do you do this ? and where do you get your lovely messages from?
Hello Kathy, thank you for taking time to spend with me and for your comment. I am not certain what 'words of wisdom' you mean but perhaps they might be the little stamped words I sometimes use or maybe some are the printed words I print onto fabric. Sometimes I will use a little quote or scripture that I cut from a book I have and make it into a tag. I hope you will share with us here what you create too Kathy. Chrissie :)
I would like to add my thanks also for this great tutorial, the tattered look is fabulous and I will definitely give it a try, you made it look so effortless. -Elaine
Thank you so very much for making this tutorial. Your eye for putting everything together is exceptional. I'm sure if I attempted to do this it would turn into a jumbly mess! Your video has inspired my to at least try something a similar, maybe on a smaller scale. I have a few ideas of coloring/dyeing the laces I have. I love the flowers you make. Any chance of a tutorial on how you make them? Thank you once again - Julie
Hello Julie, thanks for dropping by the Attic and watching my tutorial. Please give it a try...you will be surprised to see how easy and enjoyable it is. As for the flowers...there are just so many wonderful tutorials out there. Mine are mainly just a variation of a lollipop flower really I guess. Just circles layered. Chrissie :)
Julie Blake Julie, I always give the edges a 'help along' to fray :) Wherever possible I just rip the fabric to give a tattered frayed look but if you meant the flower circles I kind of go around the circles with my fingers to help it along and fray it as much as possible. Some fabrics don't fray though but the fraying just adds to the appeal I think. Chrissie x
Thank you for this. Not sure what you mean by "avocado" look Does that mean it is green? It didn't look green on the video so I would love it if you could clarify. Thanks
If you Google avocado dyeing Kathy you will see lots of videos of showing the method. The skins colour the fabrics in a very subtle pink colour and not green as one would expect. Hope this helps. chrissie
Sorry for another question but just wondering what you use to dye your laces and trims? I tried coffee dying them but didn't like how they came out, maybe I didn't do it correctly, not sure.
I wish I was able to make a video but don't know how to do that....don't have equipment to do it and not sure even how I would be able to take a picture and post it anywhere. Maybe I will look into it one day because it would be fun to show off my creations!
Hi Donna, yes, we would love to see your work. If you can take a photo and would like to send it to me, pm me and I will send you my email address so you could send it to me that way. Chrissie
Just wanted to let you know I am in the process of making a tablet case and it is GREAT fun! You are so right, you just need to play with the materials and eventually you get a placement that is appealing to your eye...and that is creative! I have made some mistakes in the construction but nothing serious...so my next attempt will be better...learn from experience.
So glad you are enjoying creating a tablet case Donna. Mistakes are always a learning curve. We learn from them. Are you able to make a video to show us? Chrissie :)
I love this and all your works of art ! I tell everyone else, except you, that my one intention is to be able to make something in your style which I love! I think I finally have enough vintage pieces so when I get the courage & feel confident , I will try and then if it’s not too badly, I’ll show you! I’ve always loved your work & channel but not sure if I ever remember to comment! It’s tricky for me to be able to place things & layer in a tasteful way! But, I’m determined to give it a go :-)). Hello Natalie, I am afraid I don't change my needle very often and use the same needle for stitching on my paper and fabric ( probably frowned upon by the experts lol!! ) I think mostly I have a needle about 90?? Nothing special :) Chrissie
tk u so much for responding, didnt think u would remember my name ! lol and I have a Singer 301, that I just love and havent changed the needle on it, in for ever! lol! not worried it sews like cutting thru butter - lol - so I understand - tks again for responding, God bless.................(PS: for some reason I want to call my sewing machine "she' - haaahaaa......its weird) :)
I am going to try to make a banner with this idea....something like a rectangular piece hanging from a vintage hanger (have to find the hanger). I think your style will make a pretty collage that would hang on a wall...or anywhere. Maybe you will do one too? :-)

I love your attic. Thanks for the tutorial
Thank you Karen.
Chrissie :)
Thank you for sharing your wonderful talent! I could watch and listen to you all day. I don't have a sewing machine so could I use glue instead? Xx
+Lin Tresadern
Hello Lin, Thank you for watching and by all means give it a try with glue. If you use a glue specifically for fabric it should work ok.

Chrissie :)
Absolutely gorgeous!!
Thank you! 😊
Thank You so much for the tutorial. Its great to see how your project came together. Please do more tutorials..Hugz..Janelle

Chrissie :)
A really big help. Thank you
That is good to hear :)
I would like to add my thanks also for this great tutorial, the tattered look is fabulous and I will definitely give it a try, you made it look so effortless.

sillyeels Thank you Elaine. I appreciate that very much.

Thank you for sharing. It was very helpful.
Chrissie :)

Thank you Chrissie. Do you just leave the edges to fray?
Julie Blake Julie, I always give the edges a 'help along' to fray :) Wherever possible I just rip the fabric to give a tattered frayed look but if you meant the flower circles I kind of go around the circles with my fingers to help it along and fray it as much as possible. Some fabrics don't fray though but the fraying just adds to the appeal I think.

Thank you very much for your response. Yes, in this case I did mean the flowers. Hugs, Julie
Hi Chrissie , love the tutorial , it helped me a lot, Hugs XXX Francisca

Merci pour ce tuto , magnifique.
Absolutely love your tattered vintage style and that you don't do perfect! I am working on that one. Thanks for sharing.
Hello Shirley, thanks for dropping by the Attic and great that you are working on one. I would love to see it and hope you will do a video.

Chrissie
The clutch is gorgeous. tfs
Maureen Zigulis Thank you Maureen.
WOW!!! Lovely
Thank you
I'd love to see a tutorial on your adorable needle books
But, I’m determined to give it a go :-)). hi miss Chrissie - what type of needle do you use for these fabric collages?
Hello Natalie, I am afraid I don't change my needle very often and use the same needle for stitching on my paper and fabric ( probably frowned upon by the experts lol!! ) I think mostly I have a needle about 90?? Nothing special :)
Chrissie
tk u so much for responding, didnt think u would remember my name ! lol and I have a Singer 301, that I just love and havent changed the needle on it, in for ever! lol! not worried it sews like cutting thru butter - lol - so I understand - tks again for responding, God bless.................(PS: for some reason I want to call my sewing machine "she' - haaahaaa......its weird) :)
still a good tutorial, thanks
Thank you :)
I am going to try to make a banner with this idea....something like a rectangular piece hanging from a vintage hanger (have to find the hanger). I think your style will make a pretty collage that would hang on a wall...or anywhere. Maybe you will do one too? :-)
Please share your banner with us here when you are done Donna.
Chrissie :)
