I think its interesting that these stories did actually make it into the Gen 4 games, even if heavily edited for a game that children can play. You do mention that one passage from the library that was removed from the translated version, but there is more. The Veilstone Myth talks about a young man who finds a sword, with which he killed Pokémon. He then talks to them, and they basically warn him, that if he attacks them, they will attack back, even if they dont want to. And the young man regrets finding the sword. This pretty much parallels the story with the Ursaring, they cut out the Octillery portion (why was that even there) and the graphic depictions of him mutilating the Ursaring. And instead of actually taking revenge, in the new version they just warn him. I also think the Sinnoh Folk Story 1 is the story with the Octillery. The newer version talks about throwing the bones of the consumed Pokémon back into the ocean instead of having relations with them, but in both instances the Pokémon returned and was thrown back again. Sinnoh Folk Story 2 is then the Typhlosion story, as it not only tells of Pokémon disguised to "sleep as a human", but also the last line "Awakened, the human dons the Pokémon hide to roam villages." This fits the woman of that story becoming half-typhlosion and living with the humans (only to be awakened as a Pokémon) My conclusion is, that these Stories were specifically written for that purpose. As little folk tales, for the player to find when interacting with a book in a library. The stories do have old japanese yokai folktale vibes. The Typhlosion one specifically is similar to the story of the Mujina, which is a shapeshifting badger yokai.
I like the idea of Typhlosian being a werebadger who just wants love. People love the anime movie Wolf Children. This is basically a more tragic Pokemon take on the same concept
I mean, with the way everyone reacted they proved themselves right, irl myths are worse but everyone flipped out over non-canon scrapped world building exercises :/ if it's any consolation, the international dppt release still kept the story about the slasher swordsman, and pla makes it very clear that people can and do get attacked & done in by pokemon

Honestly i dont think he realized or put it together that slaking did that bc its pokemon, its supposed to be a kids company. Its not explicitly stated in those stories, where as in octillary its literally stated “he had relations” which is much more implied
What are you talking about? 34:24 38:19 He basically gave the same reaction, the only difference is that he questioned who wrote the Octillery story. His reaction at that point was probably due to the fact that the stuff that happened in the slaking story wasn't a one off thing but a common theme.
Somehow, despite how controversial these lore stories are, I kind of want fans to animate short episodes based on them, drawn in a mature but old folktale like artstyle. Show the more graphic stuff, but don't go too far with the "relations". Somehow I imagine the octillery scene a bit like that old japanese art "the dream of the fishermans's wife ". While reading the stories I can literally see the storyboard in my head. How the girl burns a wodden box containing the 3 things from typhosion humming the melody alone on the snowy mountain. How the woman puts her dead slakoth into the river. Or how the boy and the Ursaring fight each other to death. Almost no background music for the shorts. No clear morals. Just short occasional sentences and most of the storytelling done through visuals and atmosphere. At the end you are left with a feeling like "that felt powerful and heavy, not like pokemon at all" and you are left with this unclear feeling like a mix of feeling emotional, shocked, pensive and like you're needing a few hours to come down.
That’s like saying you feel powerful and dark when you hear a father sa their child or something stupid, bruh just because it has shock value doesn’t mean it’s deep in any way.

08:59 I have always maintained that X/Y was my favorite generation, because it came the closest to a REAL and FULL story without pulling punches like every other game does.
I think the point of these old stories, especially the typhlosion one, was to show that there was a time when humans and pokemon were much closer. Like two different species of monkey, or lions and tigers, in today's world. Weren't there also hints from Khu during the S/V DLC about a secret link between pokemons and humans? The Ia/Ea old lore confirms that pokemon and humans were descended from the same "gods" and that AUS looked like some weird mix of pokemon and human. So I think that during the times of these old stories, they were trying to imply that the boundaries between pokemon and humans was not so cut and dried. Humans might see a pokemon and think of them as a similar being or existence. Even Zorya/Zoroark can pass as a human in canon. I think we associate pokemon heavily with animals because of their close resemblence to them, but it seems like we were meant to think of them more like magical creatures or spirits who have the same intelligence or base essence as human beings, but happen to exist in animal like forms. To be honest, the style of the stories is very reminiscent of japanese folklore and how they depict and talk about ancient tales of oni and kami (good and evil spirits that often had fractious interactions with humankind). Japan in general is a land where the storytelling can offen be extremely intense and they dont seem to shy away from more taboo concepts. Just look at manga/anime like 7 Seeds or Death Note.
It is possible when they were thinking about the concept of life and death, they were gonna tie to the creation trio. Makes sense why certain pokemon appear in the drafts. Yeah all the folklore are modeled after myths and stories in the real world. Im pretty sure the typhlosion one was based on a shape shifting Yokai story.
It would be so cool if Pokemon Showdown had a version of that gym building concept that game freak had come up with, where you can either make the 1st-8th gyms and the levels and how many Pokemon you can use are limited by which gym it is. And after you beat other player gyms, you can use their teams in your own gym to put them as a gym trainer
Its cannon human and pokemon used to kill eachother and mutilate eachother greusomely as well as had sex with eachother and married and fell in love having human-pokemon hybrids.
Hoopa is the cute mythical of Gen 6. Also, you never noticed that the Ultimate Weapon was Floette’s flower in design? That was obvious. & the graves were in the final cutscene.
this world war theme from xy also connects with the context of the "belle epoque" (that peace state before the war striked on france) that i think thats what they are trying to bring this belle epoque feeling in legends za
I disagree on the "Mewthree" idea. I'd say it was a prototype concept for either a Mewtwo X or Y, that they didn't fully conceptualize until after making the box legendary differences and had a clear path for X and a Y variant. Also, I'd theorize that if that is the case, ZA will certainly complete the sequence of X,Y,Z with another version. One which may not be a typical Mega, but a form that Mewtwo can evolve into and stay in.
Bro it's already been debunked that it was incorrectly translated and typhlosion is innocent, and in any other story, it's the humans that are at fault aren't they?? People gotta stop being so closed minded and do their own research 🙏🙏
I find it really interesting to see how they planned out their mythology. They basically took old real world myths and adjusted them to work in a Pokemon world. It's not fair for people to think these guys are furries and freaks. They are GameFreaks I guess. None of this was ever supposed to be in a game anyway. But, keep going. This is cool.
4:08 It's kinda interesting how people are somehow forgetting that May/Brendan kinda already have a little sibling in Pokemon Emerald when they are Prof. Birch's Child. I believe that was actually Max.
I laughed so hard I had literally tears in my eyes from the octillery and the lapras stories. Like you expect a wholesome a story and it starts like in a childrens book "One day a man met a lapras." and then it goes like from 0 to 100 in the next sentence. I cant get over how unexpected it comes, that's way too funny xD
So the Legendaries must've regularly got caught up in human conflicts over the millenia, huh? Or maybe Giratina and Heatran are just looking for a reason to fight from time to time.
Your suggestio of making Arceus a fake God at 29:58 actually sounds interesting, perhaps it could be expanded by how or why other legendary attack it as it's not the origin/leader they are loyal to. Remembereding the theories how Eternatus was one of the thousands arms of arceus so imagine eternatus belongings to the true master or vice versa with it loyal to Arceus.
I agree with the little brother little sister angle, still sad we didn’t get the game corner for ORAS. We were robbed at the last second thanks to the EU 😭
Weird lizard tongued energy dog was probably supposed to be a legendary or something since its sprite is appearing next to stuff from the end of the pokedex.

The prophecy has come true, Ttar thinking to much about it and not taking the story at face value is very much like him, Also this is very unfortunate timing for Game Freak with the news stories and aligations being thrown around in the world right now.

I love how he’s alternating between analyzing the lessons in these stories and laughing in disbelief at how insane they are in places. 🎭
HE ACTUALLY DID IT
It’s finally Typhlosion time baby. We knew it was gonna happen
I thought he wouldn't talk about it, but here we are.
Man I was getting real board waiting for game freak to drop a trailer or something, these have been a wild ride
He actually did it, the mad lad actually did it
Here we go
Its cannon human and pokemon used to kill eachother and mutilate eachother greusomely as well as had sex with eachother and married and fell in love having human-pokemon hybrids.
The fact this video is number 13 is very fitting, in my opinion. Very back luck for Typhlosion and it's fans. ☠️
The Typhlosion story could be based on the mujina as it shapeshifts to deceive humans
Okay the fact that Max was scrapped hurts cause he’s my favourite travel companion
OH NO, I WAS WATCHING THE INSCRYPTION VIDEO…. he made it guys
And now for the moment we’ve all been waiting for
When I’m in a
make disturbing useless pokemon interspecies underage r*pe lore for absolutely no f*cking reason challenge
And my opponent is game freak
Bro it's already been debunked that it was incorrectly translated and typhlosion is innocent, and in any other story, it's the humans that are at fault aren't they?? People gotta stop being so closed minded and do their own research 🙏🙏
people don’t go baby mode over typical mythological narratives challenge
Zeus did worse if we are being honest
Fanfiction/wattapad writers can never match the mega corporation sized freakiness of game freak
@@crabohato4954 it was in the name all along how were we so blind 😞 lmao
TTar I know it’s gonna be be hard in the gameFREAK studio but we need you in there giving them these ideas and pushing them for us
I find it really interesting to see how they planned out their mythology. They basically took old real world myths and adjusted them to work in a Pokemon world. It's not fair for people to think these guys are furries and freaks. They are GameFreaks I guess. None of this was ever supposed to be in a game anyway.
But, keep going. This is cool.
Bro it got cut of to "Thy..." AND I WAS GASPINH
4:08 It's kinda interesting how people are somehow forgetting that May/Brendan kinda already have a little sibling in Pokemon Emerald when they are Prof. Birch's Child.
I believe that was actually Max.
if that war is the same war we heard about from LT.surge..... OH BOY ALOLA'S SHIP GRAVE YARD HAS A NEW LORE ALONG WITH THE ANCHOR POKEMON.
The fact that one word can have so much context or absolutely no context is insane
At long last, T-tar gets "enlightened" by the surprise lore Game Freak had stached away!
Everyone goes on about the typhlosion story like the slaking one isnt worse 🤦🏽♂️
Now we know why they called Game Freak.
I remember getting notifications of TTar covering Coro Coro Leaks on XY back in May 2013
So the Legendaries must've regularly got caught up in human conflicts over the millenia, huh?
Or maybe Giratina and Heatran are just looking for a reason to fight from time to time.
Your work you put into this is so clear!
55:18 omg his reaction during this realization is hilarious
Your suggestio of making Arceus a fake God at 29:58 actually sounds interesting, perhaps it could be expanded by how or why other legendary attack it as it's not the origin/leader they are loyal to. Remembereding the theories how Eternatus was one of the thousands arms of arceus so imagine eternatus belongings to the true master or vice versa with it loyal to Arceus.
How come you're not more famous?!
I wish they would give us the lore more because leaks are the only time we learn about it.
I agree with the little brother little sister angle, still sad we didn’t get the game corner for ORAS. We were robbed at the last second thanks to the EU 😭
10:00 That is almost what happened in WW2 💀
Weird lizard tongued energy dog was probably supposed to be a legendary or something since its sprite is appearing next to stuff from the end of the pokedex.
Pokemon Master[sEX] was more real than we ever realised
Can you elaborate it,I played that game but don't really think it has something to do with the leaks
Part 13 as in that girl's (probable) age 💀
Also: according to a translation made by a professional (GogglesOfTheArt) AZ was just supposed to be Lysandre's name, in Masuda's diaries, AZ the character didn't have a name originally, it should have been just a random unnamed ruler/scientist.
One word was all we needed to know
Maybe Giratina was being a little too Canadian in world war pokemon. Maybe that's why he was banished to the distortion world.
So there is a folklore story about a bear that the Typhlosion story is based on
Bro read the stories finally let’s gooooooo😂
I could not stop laughing at the end when he could not decide which was worse
I purposefully waited for Ttar to go over this stuff. Glad I waited?
the cutting room floor has all mythology transcripts translated.
The prophecy has come true, Ttar thinking to much about it and not taking the story at face value is very much like him, Also this is very unfortunate timing for Game Freak with the news stories and aligations being thrown around in the world right now.
I like your analysis but I also think it shows that there are some humans out there with Pokémon level power and can communicate better with them because they are partially Pokémon genetically.
Ttar be readin GameFREAK's forbidden archives.
It's about time man 😢
Editor using Steins;gate music on piano when talking about the Arceus stuff, I see you
I’ve been waiting for this video for so lonng
