Music & sounds effects are far better on Sega. Quality might not match Nintendo, but the effects made the game epic & exciting on Sega. The sound effects are part of the gameplay, and Nintendo is missing all of it.
SEGA version wins based solely on having the complete roster, the SNES version is missing Yokozuna and Bam Bam Bigelow.

No. Genesis also get more characters on screen especially in the world championship mode. You make it sound like your reason was the only.
Snes also had slowdown, and same with genesis, also on snes there are on up to 3 man matches, some matches are too much for the hardware to handle.

Well done. But a couple of the requests at the end were people asking for Super Wrestlemania, which is a different WWF game on the Genesis and SNES (also: Royal Rumble and Raw). But yeah, it's a slam dunk for Genesis, I mean, why even bother playing if you can't play as "The Beast from the East" Bam Bam Bigelow?

I was thrilled to see a new Console Wars video in my subs. What a great way to start the day. Count me among those who liked the puppets. I thought they fit in well with the wrestling theme. I was really surprised to learn how much stuff the SNES version was missing. I think eight characters is the minimum for a game like this, and it still seems like too little. I picked up the Genesis version right when it came out in 1995 because the Saturn version was a long way off. I was very impressed with the overall quality of the port when I played it. I was disappointed with earlier arcade ports like Mortal Kombat, so it was nice to see this one turn out better.

I remember my cousin playing this a lot on the Genesis (along with MK2, Eternal Champions, and Sonic the Hedgehog when his wee cousin was around).

Music on Sega sounds bass! I am a PSP, PS3, PS4 Fan so Sega does it for me, you also need 'more' characters because it means more moves, so less chance of being bored!

+Okami™ Yeah they should sega love some love in this video. But pretty much lose in all they other ones which I disagree with. I think they need to tweak they rating system a little. Just because the graphics are more detailed on the SNES or "sound" better buy having more realistic sounds verses the electronic rock sound doesn't mean sega always has to lose.

whatever graphics means to you. Sega has better resolution. snes has a larger color palette. Sega can produce more sprites on screen.

Well i think sega would win for game play because to my knowledge like the sega version of this game you can play as all the characters in every game mode that's something you can't do on the snes game
But Mike Haggar was already on the Sega CD with Final Fight....
This game is a good example to any Nintendo fanboy who claims blast processing isn't real. The Sega game plays faster and doesn't have all the slowdown that in the SNES version, in fact SOOOOO many SNES games suffer from slowdown but its hardly an issue in Segas library. Blast Processing.
Graphics, sound, and controls are much better on SNES...
But the added characters on the Genesis version is HUGE...
+The Nostalgia Factor I do have to agree there. I wished Bam Bam and Yoko were in the SNES version, but that never ruined the game for me.
The sound on the Snes is really really bad in this game the theme songs are garbage because they are all remixed with added notes and bass and don't really sound like the actual themes. Besides that yeah the Snes looks better at the expense of cut gameplay, less features, slower gameplay, cut animations, and two less characters plus it sounds bad so I would never play it so what if it is brighter change your tv settings or use a Genesis with S video or play it on a retron 5.
No sir, I beg to differ the Snes version has slightly better music and it's a bit brighter. The effects, more characters on screen, better frame rate, more fluid animation, and flat out faster characters give the Genesis the edge in graphics. Further, in typical fashion the Snes voices sound like they're recorded in a hallway. This was a no brainer and the Console Wars guys nailed this with ease.

I was just digging through my box of sega games and I found this in my collection. I didn't know I had it because it was originally my cousin's and he had tons of wrestling games on the system.

The Sega was awesome! Probably one of the best wrestling games at the time!

I like the fact that the Genesis version had the announcers. It's a nice little detail.
Even the Playstation version was missing the announcers at the side of the ring. For some reason, the only home versions that seemed to have them were the Sega versions - Genesis, 32x, and Saturn. I don't think the PC version had them either.
The 32x version of this game is so by far the best conversion of it that it's really rather ridiculous...
Just when i didn't think i could like you guys more yo go and upload a wrestling video! I had this game for the Sega growing up, not the best wrestling game but pretty fun and unique. Awesome stuff as always guys!

How about WeaponLord it did came out for both SNES and Genesis pretty underrated game.
If I could make a suggestion, you guys should do Boogerman, both games are very similar, I think it would make a great episode!
As long as gameplay is “equal” then Genesis should win by virtue of having a full roster.. in a game that only had 8 characters the loss of 2 is a huge deal

With a few exceptions of really bass heavy soundtracks like earthworm Jim, SNES versions had better sound, which makes sense since it had a newer and better sound chip
The snes does not have a sound chip it has a sampler chip the Genesis Actually has a sound chip

You know if u wanted you could say these two games are kind of like a RUclips video. The Sega version is a full episode of a TV show with a crop image and speed up audio. you get the full experience but with lower quality. The SNES version is like a short RUclips clip of the same show with better quality. It just doesn't give the entire footage away. I know it's a weird comparison but I cant help but think this when I see these two games.

+ksysinf Yes, and people use to like the more sharp and fast music than the muffled orchestra that SNES has. Don't know why they're giving the sound always to SNES. Low-dummed orchestra music and sound is not always better.
