- If you are interested in self-sufficiency and renewable energy sources, I offer you instructions on how to build a cheap but effective vertical axis wind turbine at home. If you are also interested in making a generator from permanent magnets, watch my older video.
Vertical turbines are not noisy and capture the wind from all sides. Turbines can also be combined with solar panels via a hybrid charging controller and gain energy even during the night.
Sample of work:
• Classic Savonius wind ...
#diy #handmade #homemade
I invented 2 kind of wind turbine much efficient.
All amature designers make the same mistake because they do not understand that torque is the main energy production factor. To make any decent power, you need very large radius blades. Force * distance= T. These tiny savonius models are useless because they produce pitiful torque. Nice try though.
1) All small wind turbines actually achieve only 5-15% of the advertised power.
2) All practical tests show that small wind turbines hardly generate any electricity. And only at costs above 1$/kWh!
There is hardly any wind near the ground. And it is also very gusty, which extremely reduces the service life of the systems.
*With solar systems, you can reliably generate green electricity for about 3-10 cents/kWh over a period of 25 years!*
Do you have an explanation why small turbines do not produce electricity and large ones do, does it make sense to you?
Isn't the problem only in the type of generator?
Do you know, for example, this Liam F1 Wind Turbine?

@@rades.peron_invention Because there is hardly any wind close to the ground - and electricity yield is proportional to the third power of the wind speed: 100% more wind generates 800% more electricity! Large wind turbines rotate in the Ekman layer above 100 meters, where the wind is much stronger and more constant.
@@michaelvanallen6400 Friend, friend, no one denies that low down on the ground is a turbulent and highly laminar flow of air.
There is no need to be preconceived, science is moving forward, the wind can be concentrated check:
PowerPod wind turbine
And they are too low voltage charging controllers..
The wind does not get tired, it goes almost constantly
@@rades.peron_invention The reality: Wind rotors have been used to generate electricity for 140 years. Research into wind power rotors has been going on for over 100 years (see Beetz). But there is simply hardly any wind near the ground. Above 100m, however, it is many times stronger and more constant. And: 100% more wind = 800% more electricity yield ......Therefore: No matter what blade shape or wind power type. There is simply not enough wind close to the ground!
@@michaelvanallen6400 lol and therefore Bill Gates invests in AirLoom energy ))
BRAVO ! ! ! GOOD JOB !!! :)
SUB + 👍🏻 ! ;)
Thanks
*Efficient?!? All practical tests show that small wind turbines hardly generate any electricity,* because hardly any wind blows close to the ground.
*With solar panels, you can generate at least 20 to 30 times more green electricity with the same investment (time & money)!*
Moreover, the wind is extremely gusty, which almost always greatly reduces the service life. Only those who MUST be off grid in winter should install a large wind turbine on a high tower. Solar panels, on the other hand, reliably generate over 25 -30 years electricity at approx. 3 to 8 cents/kWh.
In the case of solar panels, it is also necessary to consider the location, orientation, and large area. The panels should be tilted differently in summer and differently in winter.
At the same investment? ))
you can make such a turbine from waste almost for free. the size of both the turbine and the generator is arbitrary. I have how to make a generator in an older video.
maybe I will also prepare a video for a 220V generator.
how this type of turbine works in the wind can be seen in the link in the description below the video.
I also recommend looking at Airloom energy, Liam F1 turbine, wind powerpod turbine...
This particular turbine in the video is over 11 years old, it is possible to build a lifetime...
Nice live on a hill
