In Islamic mythology, Jinn, or djinn, are supernatural creatures made of smokeless fire. They are frequently found in Islamic folklore and are mentioned in the Quran, the religious text of Islam. Historically, they are portrayed as menacing creatures that can harm humans, or drive them mad. People in Muslim societies have traditionally seen jinn as the cause of mental illness and neurological diseases, especially epilepsy.
Jinns are terrifying fiery creatures for many people. For others, including certain so-called scientists and engineers, they are worthy subjects of study. But what does real science say? The conclusion may surprise you.

Introducing Jinn/witches to the kids has been causing immense psychological issues but no one actually wants to talk about it.

have you any concrete evidence for that? People of all, especially children, in my village are constantly bombarded with Jinns and witches' stories but there haven't been psychological issues so to speak.
It's strange that as technological development takes place, these "Jinns" go away. Why don't we find that many of such stories in cities? Are these Jinns afraid of tall buildings, carpeted roads and the middle class? Why doesn't Europe has these stories anymore, the same Europe that used to burn women to check if they are "witches"? Think about it. Maybe it's about education and awareness.
@@hammadhussain3082 jinns etc. live in places away from population normally. And yes, sometimes its just because of ignorance like "burning witches" etc. But that doesn't mean that there are no witches or ghosts at all!

I can completely related your words! I heard the same when I was a kid but honestly speaking Jinns exist as long as you believe in them but no one has ever found even a single evidence of their existence.
Everything you heard about ghosts or watch in movies or on youtube is simply fake stuff. Everything in this universe exists for a logical reason and Jinns are simply beyond logic. PS. same goes for Shaitan (Iblis) also.

I'm not a religious person and strogly support science and its benefits. However I have a few times come across some unexplainable instances. I have with my eyes seen a big fireball with multicoloured flames in my room when I was a matric student studying alone while my parents were asleep. I ran from the room crying and awoke my parents. We went again to the room to see that there was nothing.

Sir. I know you well when you came to Qaid I Azam University I was post grad student in Biology.
And I am your fan. As I know your knowledge and education but you are very honest man. I respect you. I heard you in many shows talking to religious extremists and I have to say as you are very intelligent in science but religion is not your field. I will try to say briefly on Jin. And as I heard you on it.
Word Jin in Arabic used many time in Holy Quran and most odythe Muslims in the world knew from there. Word Jin is mentioned in Hadith Rasul many places.
People from non Arab areas are mostly at the mercy of mullahs like in Pakistan where they explain religion to them. Majority of these Mullah are not very educated or very limited.
Because Jin was never seen but mentioned in Quran in many chapters.
For example some Jins were in Hazrat Daud army and Suliman army were mentioned. Or once a party of Jin came to see Prophet Mohammad and accepted Islam.
In old Arab language word Jin meant hidden. Anything you don’t see every day.
Leaders use to be mentioned as Jin because you didn’t see them every day. Like Pakistan Prime minister you don’t see every day.
In old days there was no TV or cameras or radio.
And also people living at long distance you would not see every day or month or year. We’re mentioned as Jin.
Even animals you normally don’t see often.
In today’s time bacteria or viruses can come in this category.
There is no special creature name Jin.
At this forum I can’t explain you more than that.

Insaan(humans) and Jinn are mentioned separately in Quran as 2 separate entities and creatures as one aspect of their creation mentioned is to worship the Creator. Bedouins if were not seen often but still are humans and can’t be separate creatures. So these kind of explanations doesn’t make any sense. Now I totally agree that one should not scare other people or fool others by using the word Jinn or start blaming Jinn for the real diseases. But again quackery is quite prevalent in this society due to lack of knowledge both religious or worldly knowledge. Quackery is dangerous and religious quackery is even more dangerous.

Agree to the extent how the word "Jin" and other words carrying the same meaning are used by many Abrahamic and non-Abrahamic religions and their followers. The point is science through scientists is exploring the universe, seeing the unseen. A lot of "material" things that are not visible by the naked eye are seen by specific instruments e.g. electron and other microscopes. Not seeing anything with naked eye or "available" instruments does not mean it does not exist.
Also, agree how the nomenclature of "jins" is misused by various "practitioners" of various religions to exploit innocent and uneducated people. Still that does not provide enough evidence to not accept the presence of jins.
A lot, a universe is hidden and needs exploration, and human beings are curious and exploring and showing us the wonders of the universe. The recent images sent by James Web is a marvelous example of what we don't know.
We are limited with our 5 senses. Also, the so called demons as called by exorcists in fact are jinns.
So, you believe that stone does have a "heart" which we can't see?? Logic works in the opposite way. You observe something and then find the science behind it. It doesn't work when you "don't find anything" and you claim that "there must be something that we don't see but it exists". This argument is stupid and is only presented by the uneducated. It is like believing that "The sun goes under the throne of Allah every night". Uneducated People still believe this shit just because it's is told to them by their faith/Islam.

1) Pehle age ziada huwa krti thi, achi khuraak, nature k kareeb aur Imaan k mazboot hone ki waja se.
2) One can feel a jinn and pain in case when one is possessed/harmed by a Jinn.
3) We must care about Jinn existance, so we could protect ourselves from evil jinns.
4) It is true we must not indulge in unnecessary wehm, but we do care to think, when someone is ill, wheither its source is physically illness or spirtual problem.

Eating pure diet does not prolonge your age but the modern medicine and treatments allow you to live longer.
2) Anyone who says that he is possessed by jins have psychological issue or mental problem. In old times, people do not know about mental issues like schizophrenia, multiple personality disorder and bipolar. So the person with those symptoms were linked with jinn bhoot.
4) btw Jin do not exist, there is no scientific evidence that prove the existence of jinns.

@@hassanmujtaba9838 Oxygen (O2) is a colourless, odourless reactive gas. It has weight. Take a cylinder which has nothing in it (vacuum). And take a cylinder which has oxygen in it and compare the weight of both cylinder. Oxygen one will be heavier than other one.
Gems and Viruses can be seen with a help of microscopes. So they are not invinsible just too tinny that our eyes cant magnify enough.
There are many things which human eyes cant see such as electric waves but we can prove their existence through experiments.
On the other hand Jinn and spirit has no scientific prove that they exist.

Dr. saheb, you are an intellectual asset of the current time. Please refrain from these kinds of topics and leave them for those who believe in it and who make a living out of it. Peers, malangs, baba jis, social workers, moulvis, mullahs and beggars are at least not jobless and not a responsibility of the government. So the people are happy and the government too. You are right about threat when you used the scary character's name from your childhood that your mother used to utter to calm you down. Threat in fact controls our life and without it the society will be more or less like a jungle. You see the die heart criminals and serial killers do all kind of crimes and mischievous activity just because they lost fear of police, judges and jail. On the other hand a big majority is afraid of being punished by law, so they refrain from such activities. So, if you expand the horizon of the "threat" to cover humanity & beyond, just imagine how the bad elements would be hesitating when they think of oppression. So my message to those ignorant would be "even if your belief is correct (may Allah forgive me) of a power not being there Who could question you, decide your destiny, reward and punishment, do not try to deny it. You dont know how many victims of oppression call "Him" in the middle of night, talk to Him and have a good night sleep believing in His promises to address their grievances and punish the culprits.

Its not really subject matter of science.....Jinn is a creature. I have seen myself Jinn in human form and shape who appeared and disappeared in front of my eyes. I am scientific and infer on logic but my experience was quite amazing.

Did some scientist prove this theory by experimentation on physiology of Jinn just like they do it with animals & human on stretcher or operation table. We logical people believe in Big Bang when scientists say so but deny when religion say same. It is personal hatred that triggered you to deny me just bcz u considered Jinn as some Islamic thing. Islam has nothing to do with arts or science or other disciplines of same nature. NO FALSE INFO OR LIE CAN NOT LIVE SO LONG IN SOCIETIES AND NOT SO MUCH PEOPLE CAN AGREE ON ANY OPEN LIE THIS LONG. I have seen boy in front of me and i talked to him for 10-15 second (without knowing his kind) so i had no pre-occupied thoughts about Jinn or ghost or shape shifter as i took him a human kind. More interesting is that boy (jinn) was my younger brother on my head side while my same brother sleeping on my legs side. After finishing talk with jinn i just changed my head toward my legs and saw my same brother sleeping. I immediately turned my head towards Jinn and saw both of them at a time bcz of wide angled vision of eyes and it took only 1-2 seconds turning my head back & forth. When i turned to boy the jinn he was in disappearing mode of dissolving leaving behind photonic display as just like in past when B&W television signals are gone and screen shows dots of photonic display. I discussed it with professor of university of Islamabad in my office some 15 years back. He was professor of science discipline not arts. He was quite agree with photonic display in process of dissolving the jinn in air. I can not tell his name as you might know him if you are Mr. Pervaiz Hoodbhoy. Lastly i am not here to convince you but to share my experience. No one can convince others just bcz we considered each other a LIAR. Only liars made this world a hell place. As a Muslim, I believe jinn exists I didn't see a jinn nor angels but as Allah the almighty mentioned them in Quran I am 100% sure they exist. I would start with human soul.. forget Jinn.. not recommended. Humans have a limited lifespan measured in time. Can science explain its existence? Can it measure its weight.. composition or quantify it in any manner.??
yes we can, let me just quantify YOU for you. It's just a bunch of neurons in your brain, and the connection between your neurons is what makes you you. There is no soul. It's an illusion. Go study some neuroscience and neural computing... We have actually developed pretty cool models of the brain. Your brain is like a universal function approximator. So let me answer your questions with the scientific method based on my limited knowledge.
1. What is soul?
-> Soul is a human made-up concept that there is something other than the material existence. But if that was the case, why would we have brains? We have a very complicated brain, why would we have it then? The mind is made up of matter... It's so abundantly clear that I feel stupid telling you that, I'm sure anyone in STEM would too, but I'm coming down to your level because I believe that discussion solves problems. When we cut your hand, oh does your soul stops feeling it too? It's utterly stupid to even argue with that.. Utterly stupid.
2. Explain the brain? Why brain is you.
---some real evidence why brain is a neural system, made up of different components.. you are made up of those
->Remove corpus callosum(the neurons that connect left hemisphere to the right hemisphere) and you literally get two people inside one head, both can't communicate.. Search up the internet for it, these kind of patients have to write with one hand on the screen and one eye (your each eye is connected to different hemisphere... left eye->right hemi)... to communicate with the other... (one part can only understand images, and the other can't see them, only name them.. it can see the images as pixels but can only name them)
-> The visual cortex (what do you see? why do I call a phone a phone when i see it? how do i know it?)
we have two regions of the brain that are responsible for identifying images (V1 region and V2 region).. one region identifies lines, small parameter functions, line, circle, square.. all kinda stuff... so what goes next ?the second region takes these andmakes for example a phone (lines making a square... other complex things on your phone...) we have implemented something similar to these in computer science with what we call (convolutional neural network).. you use that software on your phone when you take an image and identifies stuff... whether it sees a dog and puts a box around it..? it is done by artificial neural networs (they are universal function approximators)
I can go on and on.. we do understand the human brain in very depth, now I have to go to your last question
->Why do we age? why we have a limited life span..
First we can statistically see that rich people live longer than poor people why is that? because of better medical care(tho understanding that correlation doesn't equal causation but there is a clear link). So why the heck do we age? The answer lies in your DNA... and to understand how you are you.. how do your bones form.. how does you flesh form? have any idea? well lme clear it up for you...
DNA is a very basic molecule.. im not a chemical scientist but I can give you a lot of info on that... it has a phosphate group, ribose sugar base and nucleir acid..there are 4 of these nucleic acids... which corresponds to the information system... by alternating these four we can save information.. like binary... in computers.. 1110 is 14 in decimal you can express this with four coins or computer memory or anything binary... These form a chain ... they can also replicate.. .and cause mutations.. long story short DNA is information engine for life.. all life.. even plants have the same dna molecule as humans have.. SAme basic element... 100% same that is... all life has this in common. To make this short, RNA is another molecule.. it helps translate DNA into a protein...makes a protein and stacks them together making a protein chain with complex folds (protein fold)...
Back to the question, why do we age... our cells where DNA is stored..have chromosomes.. and the tips of those if Im correct are telomeres... with every copy of these chromosomes (DNA carrying bodies).. it shortens... its like a printing paper.. that is limited and becomes smaller every time you make a copy... and the level of copies made become more and more degraded over time... that's why you age.. that's why you get wrinkes.. that's why you slow down with age... the modules have just been getting copied too much... we are solving this problem too.. hopefully in 50 years we'll have a solution, we probably already have solutions that reduce the speed of telomere shortening.. good sleep and antioxidants help (red wine and stuff)...
To me, it seems pretty ignorant to even ask the question... can we quantify mind? human experience? Yes we have, we have been doing it for the last 500 years in what century are you living dude?
