The most common thing to do is SWAP the part out but NOBODY ever thinks that it can be the actual wiring between the sensor and the ECU ... While thats a RARE ocassion, it DOES happen.
Ima manager at Autozone and trust me I explain to people that the part it’s suggesting is just that a suggestion and it literally says “ Most Likely Solution” and I always recommend they talk to a mechanic first before purchasing any parts but most customers don’t listen and buy it anyways
My experience with autozone has been the same. I always tell people that if autozone employees knew what they were talking about they wouldn’t be working at autozone
Neon lost the cam sensor and it wouldn't start, unplug the sensor and it would take about 10 turns then it would start. When the crank sensor went intermittent as it got warm it would freak out and run bad and die. I replaced it with a used one and it was fine till it died, 95 Neon. At least when the cam one went out you could unplug it and take forever to start like the Charger you have but it would run.
so i just recently replaced the spark plugs and coils on my dodge and after i put everything back and went ahead to turn on the car, the check engine light came on immediately and it threw multiple codes witch were the following... p0340,0365,p1dd2,u1424 any ideas as to why that might be??? i did disconnect the cam shaft position sensor at one point when i was replacing the spark plugs but i made sure to disconnect it very carefully and plugged it in right back afterwards, i would definitely appreciate any ideas you guys might have in regards to this situation
Part 2 the fix here: ruclips.net/video/QCx-PRSs8cc/видео.html
Checking wiring is key these days and is a reasonable check. Pulling sensor is a good good choice.
I did same thing....ended up being bad wires on my connector to my cam sensor...undid factory tape and found broken wire and melted wire...fixed easy.
The difference between a part seller & a real mechanic
Did I hear you say that she bought the part from Autozone and *Autozone* installed the part?
the code helps point you to an issue - always physically check wiring
Part 2, where the tone wheel just falls off while changing the timing belt.
Jt was having fun..🤣
