I went to a reptile shop today and asked how they felt about them, and they brought out one with no issues. I was surprised. The girl who owned him said that red lights make their issues a lot worse and that as soon as she stopped using one, he stopped having problems. I'm personally not okay with continued breeding of spiders because you can't predict the issues of a clutch based on the parents, but I was happy to see a healthy one.
@@autumnthemasterofjokes2148 I personally wouldn't buy one either, but it was nice and surprising to see one with no problems. He was actually really sweet too. Cuddly like a cat lol
Just went to an expo today and got 2, 4 year old proven breeder female balls. One was a enchi pinstriped and the other was a pastel yellow belly. Love your channel. You help gave me the confidence I needed to drop 350 to start my breeding!
I got 2 Enchi Pinstripe, male and female, for 133 USD. They were babys and look so nice. Then I have a 5 year old Lesser Pastel male. I think this gives a lot nice combos when the female is ready to breed.
I'm a younger audience, only a teenager, and I'm looking at some snakes, but I need to convince my parents to let me get another snake. The one I used to have was not doing well when I got and after almost two years after doing all i could do, she died anyway. I would love to retry having a snake, but I want to buy a snake by myself for a little cheaper!!! At the moment I'm doing research on cheap breeds for my power point...And this is a great source for info!! Thanks Chris!
This video is such an awesome idea. Love the fact that you showed morphs that the starter morph will lead to, amazing idea I can’t say it enough. Keep this up!🤩
Just watched this video for my first time seeing you. Subscribed immediately, anyone who lets their ball crawl on their head and also isn’t an ignorant pos who thinks snakes can’t form bonds is someone well worth my time. I’ll absolutely be watching your videos, great info too btw!
It's odd to hear that about bananas because I got my first snake back in 2020 who's a banana morph and he alone costed about $300 after tax. I don't regret it though because it was love at first sight when I was looking through snakes where I got him and he's honestly been perfect for a first time snake cause he's very gentle and well mannered. Obviously not everytime has been absolutely amazing but you're going to go through that with any animal you adopt but he's really been such an excellent snake to own and I couldn't have asked for a better one.
Thanks for all your knowledge on ball pythons, today was my first time to an Reptile expo in Arlington Texas near me and I got my first Mojave female for only $50.00! I think she could have been mis-priced due to the way she was boxed on a table along with a few Normals priced$20-$50 ! I knew from her markings she was a Mojave! I haven’t named her yet, still deciding. I do plan an on getting a male GHI to make GHI Mojaves, just like you discussed in a video yesterday. I was already planning to breed them before your video. I’m going to get an adult female Normal and a four or five gene powerhouse male at the beginning of next month, as well.
I bought a Mojave male for $65 @ PACNWRES in July. Turns out this snake was mislabeled. Jasper was renamed JosLynn. Our fe"male" Mojave is an amazing girl. She will be our first girl ready to breed by thus upcoming season...
Space, cost of enclosures, and my time constraints in taking care of the snakes makes me lean more towards saving up and purchasing a multi-gene animal that is also beautiful and enjoyable to me. It really depends on your situation and what you can and want to look for. Craigslist can also be a really good source of ball pythons at lowered prices, lots of people have certain circumstances forcing them to sell relatively quickly. I did see a pastel het clown female for $50 nearby me on Craigslist that I could breed with my sp butter het clown male in the future... 🤔 I really need to set up a rack so my price per enclosure goes down...
ITS SATURDAY! I have an Orange Dream Butter Woma and I’m thinking about getting a female Black Pewter or Pewter Mojave. Still haven’t made up my mind. I’m looking at 15+ females. It’s just hard to choose. Lol.
When I first started studying about different ball pythons, I was reminded of the phrase "kid in a candy-store"... that's exactly what it's like - being in a candy-store! 😆
I’m going to pick up a breeder butterspider and a little firefly today to go with my normal to start my collection and start breeding and you have me inspired me to start breeding I just want to say thanks your channel is amazing
Picked up a beautiful Pastel Pied yesterday for $600, high white beautiful little boy. Can't wait to get some videos of him up. Thank you for so much great info on BPs!
You could easily spend 50 in gas going to and from an expo on food and a ticket depending on where you are located from a show. I personally have to travel atleast 4 plus hours to get to a show.

Seriously avoid getting spiders yes there’s “exception” but the Reality is that majority of the morph have pretty bad neurological issue and it’s not fair to the snake to keep breeding and/or supporting it’s existence. We don’t want a repeat of all the dogs breeds we messed up back in the day.

Got my first two snakes literally a week ago when i went to the white plains reptile expo (my first expo as well and my first time seeing and handling ball pythons and snakes in general) a beautiful bright pastel female for 50 and a mexican black kingsnake for 175.... love them both soooo beautiful and sooo docile
I love all the snakes no matter what color, they’re all so beautiful! I got mine for $450 (butter X mocha BEL) which, I know is a lot, but the way I see it is “okay so I spend this much on the snake and set up but they live for around 30 years and they’re cheap and easy to care for” so it works out overall.
