Hi Margaret. I'm watching while cranking my Addi! Haha! I'm not cheating. Made 260 hats for charity last year and didn't hear one person say I cheated. I was able to bless others and for that I am thankful. I have both Addis and gave my little pink machine to two little girls who have thoroughly enjoyed making scarves and premie hats. I have watched at least 4 of your videos covering these knitting machines and I have to say that all of them are extremely thorough. Thank you so much for putting your passion into helping those of us know before we decide to buy. I am considering purchasing the Addi, but I’ll definitely be saving for it as because of this time (2022) the Addi has jumped up extremely high since the time of this video, but saving for it won’t hurt at all. Margaret I see you are still at it! A bunch of my friends and I are Loom and machine users and we have found many places to donate our hats and scarves to. We couldn't be happier! One thing I have discovered is...the machines that have the tensioners on them don't want you to actually do anything with tensioning to yarn once you get it into the proper tensioning hole. My Sentro works so much better if I don't touch the yarn! It also would be a good thing to do a tutorial on using those tensioners, and show the vast difference there is between just two adjacent holes! I just did that the other day and I wish I could send you the pictures somehow, but I don't know where I would send it. Keep up the good work young lady. We are all depending on you! God bless you! I’m a digital artist who paints my work on my iPad. There’s a lot of snobbery from traditional artists who think that my art is invalid because of this. My position is that art comes from the soul and the tools used are just away of getting it out there. A traditional artist may use canvas, a paintbrush and pigment, I use a screen, stylus and pixels. The end result is what matters, not how you get there. The same goes for knitting.... I think your videos are great. You have a lovely warm personality that shines out of your videos (and a delightful Southern accent, music to these Scottish ears 🙂). I’ve been loom knitting for a few months and stumbled across one of your videos by accident which has led me to ordering a Prym machine. It arrives tomorrow and I can’t wait to try it out. Keep up the good work!
Art DOES come from the soul, Graeme! Mixed media art popped into my mind when you were describing your work... art can be made from anything and beauty is in the eye of the beholder! The whole reason I started a RUclips channel was because my friends were making fun of me for picking up yarn crafting because it was so out-of-character for me (I'm a technology person) AND they thought it was an "old lady" craft. So I rolled my eyes at them for putting me in a "box" and went out to find my own yarn-loving friends! Ha! Being a techno nerd, I find your art intriguing! Do you have a website or blog? Margaret, I just pulled my Addi (King) out of storage and it feels great to use it again. So happy with your updated video and everything you've said. I used Loops N Threads years ago because that worked well for many. I made an infinity scarf/cowl with Caron Latte (based on another video) and it came out beautifully! I too, have hand pain (arthritis) and needed a break from my needles. I'm so happy to be using it again and trying new things...and connecting with you and your extremely nice and helpful videos. :)

Was just gonna mention that a sewing machine is not cheating as others have mentioned!! Plus, this is just another way to knit. I'm 55 and have knit since I was 7. I don't knit as well as I used to, and I can knit eastern, western. My fine motor skills too are not what they once were and medicine affects that too. Also, I find knitting many of the sweaters that are popular today (yards and yards of stockinette) so boring to knit. Knitting machine to the rescue I say! And there's no reason why I couldn't pick up stitches and knit some portions by hand too, rIght?! Thank you so much for this video; it's so very helpful.

I got interested in circular knitting machines by accident, a video showing the big Addi. Got me hook, line & sinker. I would LOVE to buy the big Addi, just can't afford it right now. I found a Sentro, figured I'd "test the waters" then get the Addi later. I figured this would be a way for me to make a little money on the side. I'm so glad I found your channel.
Hi Margaret! Still loving your videos on the addi express! I've actually found a novel way of tensioning my yarn. I actually have the yarn wrapped around one or two of the legs of the machine and then allow it to run up into the yarn feeder. For me this has actually fixed the issue of dropped and tucked stitches which seemed to happen so much to me when I was hand tensioning. My technique may not work for everyone but it has certainly helped when I use the addi kingsize. Please keep doing all of your amazing videos! We love them here in Australia!
Glad you found a good trick! This is actually something that recommended a lot for those with handicaps OR machines they’ve automated in some way! Works like a charm And can be adjusted to increase or decrease tension. Just be sure to keep you eye on your yarn as you can’t feel an upcoming “surprise “ knot that could cause problems!

Oh Margaret , I think you're just the sweetest. I want to let you know i got my first circular knitting machine today and right out of the box I was able to make a hat with the yarn provided . Youre right about certain yarns not working. I had a skein from dollar tree and it was horrible even with weights, etc. So i learned my lesson and ran a skein of caron simply soft and it was beautiful. I am looking forward to doing more tomorrow ?
My friend has a machine like this and he loves to use it! He has cerebral palsy and his dexterity isn't that great, but he has one hand and arm that work just fine and it cranks this well. It's great that he can do this independently!

Margaret, I own both flatbed knitting machines (8 of them), and the Addi King and Pro. I love all of my machines, and use them differently. For sweaters, socks, special knit design scarves with beading and large blankets I use my flatbeds. To whip up a hat & scarf and stuffed animals, I use my Addi machines. I love them all. I had some leftover yarn from previous projects and decided to make a large throw this past week-end. I had it made in approximately 4 hrs of knitting (66" wide x 63" long) - made on my flatbed. I always laugh when someone tells me this is not knitting. Usually after I show them the end product, they tend to have less critical comments to make. I will ask them how long would it take them to hand knit a California King blanket; and then I tell them how long it takes me to make the same blanket on my flatbed--end of argument (LOL). We need to enjoy our knitting tools and let the critical comments of other float off into the ozone!!

Hi, Margaret, I want to thank you for your telling us about your charity giving. I just fully retired and am going to be making blankets (crocheted, loom knitted and sewn) for the charity “The Binky Patrol” . They give blankets and hats and gloves to babies through teens who are in foster care or the hospital, etc. It’s a national charity. Have you ever heard of them? I have Parkinson’s and want to do as much as I can before I can’t do it! I’m so grateful for you opening this door for me! Love you! 😊💞💕💞

This was a very helpful video. I haven’t been able to knit for over ten years as I have Carpo tunnel in both wrists and arthritis in both hands. I had seen these machines before but thought they were very limiting, you have changed my mind...thus I will search for a machine for myself. Again Thankyou for a great video!

I do charity work too and bought hubby one as he is arthritic and cannot keep tension with crochet,we got a machine from lincraft in Australia when they had a 50 percent of sale and got one for $50 we didn't want to spend a lot not knowing if he'd like it, he loves looming so he is liking the machine but we did notice the hats are not large enough for adult beanies,he's also having is issues with stitches dropping, but it's a learning process for him and he is loving being able to help our charity drives
I have just started watching circular knitting machine videos and find them so relaxing. I am a crocheter and painter but have lately been getting some swelling and aching in my finger joints and it panics me that I wont be able to do my creative hobbies. Im going too try and save up for a machine but they are quite expensive here in Australia so Im hoping for a sale at some stage lol Im off to watch the rest of your videos now :)
Oh, Scarlet... I know how you feel! I honestly have never seen the Addi brands go on sale here in the U.S. but the prices seem to vary on the knock offs... and there ARE some good knockoffs!

So interesting Margaret! I don’t use a knitting machine but if I ever wanted to make socks, this is the way to go. I’m relieved to know I’m not the only one who gets hostile comments from time to time. I honestly do not understand how a simple tutorial for a yarn craft can spark such attitude. 😂😂😂 I think they are missing the point in having a hobby. ❤️
Agreed about the comments. I must admit that the ugly comments are few and far between but they can sting, can't they? I have to remind myself that people who feel it's OK to cause pain on purpose must have their own issues to work on!

It makes me very sad for society that people feel empowered to be ugly to nice older ladies who are doing nothing more than sharing hobbies online. 😥 (I’m older than you for sure, but in general over 30 is “older” in terms of youtube culture) I delete the insulting and inappropriate comments and block those people. Hello Margaret! I haven't been on a knitting site for a while. I've been moving but it's nice to see you and hear your voice again. I don't know what I would have done in a beginning of my knitting machine life if I hadn't found you! My friend and the nursing home finally got both sizes of Addi machines... and is going like crazy making narrow scarves and wide scarves and hats! You would be very proud of her. I am! She had very many just sell at the Bazaar the nursing home had last Christmas. Various people come by and see her in her room knitting and they buy from her. I wish there was a way that a person with Parkinson's as bad as she has it could make the tension more even though. Any suggestions? She's a great crafter and has wonderful color ideas. Thank you for helping make her life and my life better and thank you for being part of drawing the two of us back together. She and I went to HighSchool together! We are now in our 70s. Keep up the great work Margaret! God bless you greatly.
Hi, Cookie! What a great story about your friend! And yes... there are ways to increase the tension without using your left hand at all, like putting the yarn on the floor, wrapping it once around the table leg or more if more tension is required. The "drag" creates some tension. You could also try things like setting something like a tissue box on top of the yarn. Heavy enough to create drag but not too heavy that it stops the yarn altogether!

I have Parkinson’s and for now I can crochet, it mainly affects my walking but I was worried about what I would do when it affected my hands. Thank you for your remarks on sock heels. I took my small Addi out of the box over a year ago, struggled so much with sock heels I put it back again and haven’t touched it since. I now realise I was trying to run before I could even crawl. Will now make tube socks with after thought heels and toes.
You're not alone, Sylvia! Most people buy these machines believing them to be some magic production machines but videos DO make it seem so easy but there's so much more that goes into it, isn't there?! Have fun!

Got my Addi Kingsize 3 days ago , but securing it to a work surface was issue. Solved the problem with a $1 piece of foam core board. Cut the board in half then positioned my machine at the angle I wanted to work with it. Traced the feet on one piece of the foam core and cut holes with craft knife. Placed it on the second half and clamped the 2 sheet stack to my work surface. Now my machine stays put. If you have a big table, you might buy 2 sheets of foam core to fit width of your table. You can make this foam core sheet set any size up to the width of the foam core. Now you can place your machine where you want it to be!

That is great to hear. I have been hoping for a machine that was a bit smaller than the large Addi, but larger than the small, so I think this will be perfect. I only use it to make hats for babies in my portrait studio, so that's great. Thanks for the update!
Margaret, I have a flat bed knitting machine years ago that I use to make my children’s school sweaters on it and for friends children. It was great BUT I could make the sweat in far less time than it took to sew the sweaters together. So the circular machine would be so much better in that case.
It would if you had very skinny children! (Remember the tube sizes I shared!) I think an attachment for your flatbed probably would have been the ideal solution in that case but I love knowing you did that for all the kids! What a lovely image, Bev!
Margaret Olander I don’t think they had the circular attachment back then, I’m talk 40 years ago. It was a Brother brand machine and I also has the ribber bed as well.
I decided to get the circular knitter because there will come a time where I won't be able to hold knitting needles at some point. The circular machines ARE fun. And boy, are they fast. I can turn out a nice hat in 30 minutes. Everyone in my extended family got hats.
Im so glad you mentioned when people say its cheating its still knitting i still enjoy doing both but its quicker for me to make some quick cash if i want to take my time ill knit or crochet
Wow I’m hoping I found the right video to answer most all my questions your such a good teacher , I’ve found a lot of videos for addi but I’m so happy just with yours. You go further than a simple yes or no yes I’m still practicing on my new machines my most difficulties I have has been choosing a really good cast on I’ve tried the normal wrap one skip one now working on E wrap seems I’m doing something wrong as I get to about the third or fourth round I seem to make a lot of skipped stitches how ever I have made ‘‘tis work to my advantage in some ways by chrome to up the gaps like a braid or rib no matter I’m not giving up by no means with your videos my encouragement stays high thank you so much my teacher . Yes I do look at other peoples styles as well if for no other reason maybe a new tip . Love and bless your heart
So much helpful information! If I may, it would be incredibly helpful if one could turn on subtitles. Not only for people who are hard of hearing like myself but also for those who may understand things better written out, or even watch without sound so as to not bother whoever they may be in the room with. You enunciate really well, but every now and then a word will slip for lots of people. For example, I found myself very curious about the garment addi knitter you mentioned but there was no link to where she shares her content and your heavy American accent made it a bit difficult to properly figure out her name, so I wasn’t able to find her. But aside from all that, a really great video! I definitely had a lot of my nibbling questions answered despite owning an addi and having used it plenty. 🤗 Thank you! (And also, structuring the video with time stamps for specific questions was so so useful! Wish everybody did this!)
I have a heavy SOUTHERN American accent which may complicate things! Fatima only shares her pictures on her personal page these days so unfortunately I can't give out any links. And the "chapter feature" (timestamps) is relatively new to RUclips! We could always list it out like that in the description box but NOW RUclips will automatically divide the video up for us! I just recently set that up on this older video just the other day!

I used to pay my son to check the auto closed captioning for me but neither of us has time! It takes HOURS to shoot and edit videos so I've had to rely on RUclips's auto CC as of late. Sometimes it has trouble with my accent and it certainly doesn't know what an Addi Machine is! Not a good solution but I am aware of it.

World is full of different people, with diferente worries and experience. As a begginer knitter I was under stress and once I said "loom knitting isn't knitting". But I use a knitdoll for icord. So I pushed that stress to the environment that makes me happy. We all mistake and we all learn. Knitting doesn't have absolute rules to say what is cheat and don't.
Is there a pattern book to help with making garments, like sweaters, dresses? Thank you for your video, you are very pleasant and knowledgeable. I appreciate your help.
having some kind of crochet, or knitting skills will help you. I got some negative comments about it saying my finished items weren't knit on the Addi.

I see doc in about two weeks to see about getting a wheelchair..so when snow melts I can actually get outside more..n get fresh air..well I'm not sure how "fresh" it is anymore..lol. Hi Margaret, I seem to recall that sometime in the past you did a video about using a sewing machine motor to motorize your Addi. As a charity knitter like yourself, I have been wondering if doing the same would markedly increase my speed in producing hats. I believe that you may have stopped using your motorized method. Some people seem to worry that one might put undue stress on the Addi itself by motoring it. Others have suggested using a low power electric screwdriver as the power source - to reduce the chance of damaging your machine. I would really like to try adding the power to my Addi Express king-size - simply so I can produce more hats in the same amount of time. Any comments concerning this topic will be appreciate to no end. And thank you for all you are doing, and have done to assist so many of us knitting machine fans.

It's not made for this so it's one of those "try at your own risk" type things. Sometimes I need to see things in live action to make my decisions!

Thanks for sharing . I have been looking too get one of these for quite some time now. On the addi can bulking yarn be used on those machines (bulky 6 or above) . This machine would increase my volunteer work with the newborns / preemies tremendously
Margret, I just bought both sizes of addi’s and I have a real problem….I have owned these for 3 weeks and work on them daily but on the larger one I cannot get an entire row without at least 8-10 dropped stitches. I have watched every video I could find along with about 10 different yarns all #4. I have tons of weights and every other gadgets suggested. If you have a hint for me I will still be setting at my addi. Thanks!

I am considering purchasing the Addi, but I’ll definitely be saving for it as because of this time (2022) the Addi has jumped up extremely high since the time of this video, but saving for it won’t hurt at all. Margaret I see you are still at it! A bunch of my friends and I are Loom and machine users and we have found many places to donate our hats and scarves to. We couldn't be happier! One thing I have discovered is...the machines that have the tensioners on them don't want you to actually do anything with tensioning to yarn once you get it into the proper tensioning hole. My Sentro works so much better if I don't touch the yarn! It also would be a good thing to do a tutorial on using those tensioners, and show the vast difference there is between just two adjacent holes! I just did that the other day and I wish I could send you the pictures somehow, but I don't know where I would send it. Keep up the good work young lady. We are all depending on you! God bless you! I’m a digital artist who paints my work on my iPad. There’s a lot of snobbery from traditional artists who think that my art is invalid because of this. My position is that art comes from the soul and the tools used are just away of getting it out there. A traditional artist may use canvas, a paintbrush and pigment, I use a screen, stylus and pixels. The end result is what matters, not how you get there. The same goes for knitting.... I think your videos are great. You have a lovely warm personality that shines out of your videos (and a delightful Southern accent, music to these Scottish ears 🙂). I’ve been loom knitting for a few months and stumbled across one of your videos by accident which has led me to ordering a Prym machine. It arrives tomorrow and I can’t wait to try it out. The whole reason I started a RUclips channel was because my friends were making fun of me for picking up yarn crafting because it was so out-of-character for me (I'm a technology person) AND they thought it was an "old lady" craft. Margaret, I just pulled my Addi (King) out of storage and it feels great to use it again. So happy with your updated video and everything you've said. I used Loops N Threads years ago because that worked well for many. I made an infinity scarf/cowl with Caron Latte (based on another video) and it came out beautifully! I too, have hand pain (arthritis) and needed a break from my needles. I'm so happy to be using it again and trying new things...and connecting with you and your extremely nice and helpful videos. :)

Was just gonna mention that a sewing machine is not cheating as others have mentioned!! Plus, this is just another way to knit. I'm 55 and have knit since I was 7. I don't knit as well as I used to, and I can knit eastern, western. My fine motor skills too are not what they once were and medicine affects that too. Also, I find knitting many of the sweaters that are popular today (yards and yards of stockinette) so boring to knit. Knitting machine to the rescue I say! And there's no reason why I couldn't pick up stitches and knit some portions by hand too, rIght?! Thank you so much for this video; it's so very helpful.

I got interested in circular knitting machines by accident, a video showing the big Addi. Got me hook, line & sinker. I would LOVE to buy the big Addi, just can't afford it right now. I found a Sentro, figured I'd "test the waters" then get the Addi later. I figured this would be a way for me to make a little money on the side. I'm so glad I found your channel.
I think most people find these machines by accident! They're just not something that comes to mind automatically! Fun little gadgets, aren't they!
Hi Margaret! Still loving your videos on the addi express! I've actually found a novel way of tensioning my yarn. I actually have the yarn wrapped around one or two of the legs of the machine and then allow it to run up into the yarn feeder. For me this has actually fixed the issue of dropped and tucked stitches which seemed to happen so much to me when I was hand tensioning. My technique may not work for everyone but it has certainly helped when I use the addi kingsize.

Glad you found a good trick! This is actually something that recommended a lot for those with handicaps OR machines they’ve automated in some way! Works like a charm And can be adjusted to increase or decrease tension. Just be sure to keep you eye on your yarn as you can’t feel an upcoming “surprise “ knot that could cause problems!

Oh Margaret , I think you're just the sweetest. I want to let you know i got my first circular knitting machine today and right out of the box I was able to make a hat with the yarn provided . Youre right about certain yarns not working. I had a skein from dollar tree and it was horrible even with weights, etc. So i learned my lesson and ran a skein of caron simply soft and it was beautiful. I am looking forward to doing more tomorrow ?

My friend has a machine like this and he loves to use it! He has cerebral palsy and his dexterity isn't that great, but he has one hand and arm that work just fine and it cranks this well. It's great that he can do this independently!

Margaret, I own both flatbed knitting machines (8 of them), and the Addi King and Pro. I love all of my machines,
and use them differently. For sweaters, socks, special knit design scarves with beading and large blankets I use
my flatbeds. To whip up a hat & scarf and stuffed animals, I use my Addi machines. I love them all. I had some
leftover yarn from previous projects and decided to make a large throw this past week-end. I had it made in
approximately 4 hrs of knitting (66" wide x 63" long) - made on my flatbed. I always laugh when someone
tells me this is not knitting. Usually after I show them the end product, they tend to have less critical
comments to make. I will ask them how long would it take them to hand knit a California King blanket; and
then I tell them how long it takes me to make the same blanket on my flatbed--end of argument (LOL). We
need to enjoy our knitting tools and let the critical comments of other float off into the ozone!!

Hi, Margaret, I want to thank you for your telling us about your charity giving. I just fully retired and am going to be making blankets (crocheted, loom knitted and sewn) for the charity “The Binky Patrol” . They give blankets and hats and gloves to babies through teens who are in foster care or the hospital, etc. It’s a national charity. Have you ever heard of them? I have Parkinson’s and want to do as much as I can before I can’t do it! I’m so grateful for you opening this door for me! Love you! 😊💞💕💞

This was a very helpful video. I haven’t been able to knit for over ten years as I have Carpo tunnel in both wrists and arthritis in both hands. I had seen these machines before but thought they were very limiting, you have changed my mind...thus I will search for a machine for myself. Again Thankyou for a great video!

I do charity work too and bought hubby one as he is arthritic and cannot keep tension with crochet,we got a machine from lincraft in Australia when they had a 50 percent of sale and got one for $50 we didn't want to spend a lot not knowing if he'd like it, he loves looming so he is liking the machine but we did notice the hats are not large enough for adult beanies,he's also having is issues with stitches dropping, but it's a learning process for him and he is loving being able to help our charity drives
Well now you know you can do flat panels and seam them together for any size hat you'd like!
I have just started watching circular knitting machine videos and find them so relaxing. I am a crocheter and painter but have lately been getting some swelling and aching in my finger joints and it panics me that I wont be able to do my creative hobbies. Im going too try and save up for a machine but they are quite expensive here in Australia so Im hoping for a sale at some stage lol Im off to watch the rest of your videos now :)
Oh, Scarlet... I know how you feel! I honestly have never seen the Addi brands go on sale here in the U.S. but the prices seem to vary on the knock offs... and there ARE some good knockoffs!

I’m relieved to know I’m not the only one who gets hostile comments from time to time. I honestly do not understand how a simple tutorial for a yarn craft can spark such attitude. 😂😂😂 I think they are missing the point in having a hobby. ❤️

It makes me very sad for society that people feel empowered to be ugly to nice older ladies who are doing nothing more than sharing hobbies online. 😥 (I’m older than you for sure, but in general over 30 is “older” in terms of youtube culture) I delete the insulting and inappropriate comments and block those people. Hello Margaret! I haven't been on a knitting site for a while. I've been moving but it's nice to see you and hear your voice again. I don't know what I would have done in a beginning of my knitting machine life if I hadn't found you! My friend and the nursing home finally got both sizes of Addi machines... and is going like crazy making narrow scarves and wide scarves and hats! You would be very proud of her. I am! She had very many just sell at the Bazaar the nursing home had last Christmas. Various people come by and see her in her room knitting and they buy from her. I wish there was a way that a person with Parkinson's as bad as she has it could make the tension more even though. Any suggestions? She's a great crafter and has wonderful color ideas. Thank you for helping make her life and my life better and thank you for being part of drawing the two of us back together. She and I went to HighSchool together! We are now in our 70s. Keep up the great work Margaret! God bless you greatly.
Hi, Cookie! What a great story about your friend! And yes... there are ways to increase the tension without using your left hand at all, like putting the yarn on the floor, wrapping it once around the table leg or more if more tension is required. The "drag" creates some tension. You could also try things like setting something like a tissue box on top of the yarn. Heavy enough to create drag but not too heavy that it stops the yarn altogether!

Thank you for your remarks on sock heels. I took my small Addi out of the box over a year ago, struggled so much with sock heels I put it back again and haven’t touched it since. I now realise I was trying to run before I could even crawl. Will now make tube socks with after thought heels and toes.

Got my Addi Kingsize 3 days ago , but securing it to a work surface was issue. Solved the problem with a $1 piece of foam core board. Cut the board in half then positioned my machine at the angle I wanted to work with it. Traced the feet on one piece of the foam core and cut holes with craft knife. Placed it on the second half and clamped the 2 sheet stack to my work surface. Now my machine stays put. If you have a big table, you might buy 2 sheets of foam core to fit width of your table. You can make this foam core sheet set any size up to the width of the foam core. Now you can place your machine where you want it to be!

Margaret, I have a flat bed knitting machine years ago that I use to make my children’s school sweaters on it and for friends children. It was great BUT I could make the sweat in far less time than it took to sew the sweaters together. So the circular machine would be so much better in that case.
It would if you had very skinny children! (Remember the tube sizes I shared!) I think an attachment for your flatbed probably would have been the ideal solution in that case but I love knowing you did that for all the kids! What a lovely image, Bev!
Margaret Olander I don’t think they had the circular attachment back then, I’m talk 40 years ago. It was a Brother brand machine and I also has the ribber bed as well.
I decided to get the circular knitter because there will come a time where I won't be able to hold knitting needles at some point. The circular machines ARE fun. And boy, are they fast. I can turn out a nice hat in 30 minutes. Everyone in my extended family got hats.

Wow I’m hoping I found the right video to answer most all my questions your such a good teacher , I’ve found a lot of videos for addi but I’m so happy just with yours. You go further than a simple yes or no yes I’m still practicing on my new machines my most difficulties I have has been choosing a really good cast on I’ve tried the normal wrap one skip one now working on E wrap seems I’m doing something wrong as I get to about the third or fourth round I seem to make a lot of skipped stitches how ever I have made ‘‘tis work to my advantage in some ways by chrome to up the gaps like a braid or rib no matter I’m not giving up by no means with your videos my encouragement stays high thank you so much my teacher . Yes I do look at other peoples styles as well if for no other reason maybe a new tip . Love and bless your heart

So much helpful information! If I may, it would be incredibly helpful if one could turn on subtitles. Not only for people who are hard of hearing like myself but also for those who may understand things better written out, or even watch without sound so as to not bother whoever they may be in the room with. You enunciate really well, but every now and then a word will slip for lots of people. For example, I found myself very curious about the garment addi knitter you mentioned but there was no link to where she shares her content and your heavy American accent made it a bit difficult to properly figure out her name, so I wasn’t able to find her. But aside from all that, a really great video! I definitely had a lot of my nibbling questions answered despite owning an addi and having used it plenty. 🤗 Thank you! (And also, structuring the video with time stamps for specific questions was so so useful! Wish everybody did this!)
I have a heavy SOUTHERN American accent which may complicate things! Fatima only shares her pictures on her personal page these days so unfortunately I can't give out any links. And the "chapter feature" (timestamps) is relatively new to RUclips! We could always list it out like that in the description box but NOW RUclips will automatically divide the video up for us! I just recently set that up on this older video just the other day!

I used to pay my son to check the auto closed captioning for me but neither of us has time! It takes HOURS to shoot and edit videos so I've had to rely on RUclips's auto CC as of late. Sometimes it has trouble with my accent and it certainly doesn't know what an Addi Machine is! Not a good solution but I am aware of it.

World is full of different people, with diferente worries and experience. As a begginer knitter I was under stress and once I said "loom knitting isn't knitting". But I use a knitdoll for icord. So I pushed that stress to the environment that makes me happy. We all mistake and we all learn. Knitting doesn't have absolute rules to say what is cheat and don't.

Hi, Susan! Yes, you've been a long time circular knitting buddy!! Sorry you're battling pain, too. Mine is much better most of the time now. I began to notice the biggest change when I got serious about my anti-inflammatory diet. HUGE difference! Hope you find something to help control yours. It's not fun. 😢
@@sheepishlysharing I might have to check out that kind of diet! I take anti inflammatory medications..but it still doesn't help. I see doc in about two weeks to see about getting a wheelchair..so when snow melts I can actually get outside more..n get fresh air..well I'm not sure how "fresh" it is anymore..lol.

Hi Margaret, I seem to recall that sometime in the past you did a video about using a sewing machine motor to motorize your Addi. As a charity knitter like yourself, I have been wondering if doing the same would markedly increase my speed in producing hats. I believe that you may have stopped using your motorized method. Some people seem to worry that one might put undue stress on the Addi itself by motoring it. Others have suggested using a low power electric screwdriver as the power source - to reduce the chance of damaging your machine. I would really like to try adding the power to my Addi Express king-size - simply so I can produce more hats in the same amount of time. Any comments concerning this topic will be appreciate to no end. And thank you for all you are doing, and have done to assist so many of us knitting machine fans.

but I am one of those who believes it puts undue stress on the machine. It's not made for this so it's one of those "try at your own risk" type things. Sometimes I need to see things in live action to make my decisions!

I love the tight stitch but of knitting so this was great for me.

Thanks for sharing . I have been looking too get one of these for quite some time now. On the addi can bulking yarn be used on those machines (bulky 6 or above) . This machine would increase my volunteer work with the newborns / preemies tremendously
No... yarn that's too heavy for the machine puts a strain on it.

Margret, I just bought both sizes of addi’s and I have a real problem….I have owned these for 3 weeks and work on them daily but on the larger one I cannot get an entire row without at least 8-10 dropped stitches. I have watched every video I could find along with about 10 different yarns all #4. I have tons of weights and every other gadgets suggested. If you have a hint for me I will still be setting at my addi. Thanks!
