So MVP goes to the players with no 1 seed and not Luka because of what.... but DPOY of the year goes to Wemby whose team is below average on defense versus the guy on the best defensive team and whose team might also end up with the 1,2 or at worst 3 seed. Someone explain this contradicting logic to me.

Then you don't understand the difference. Defensive player is what you do solely. Has nothing to do with the affect it has on winning. Valuable is the operative word. That value is gauged by how far you carry the team. One factor being standings. Another being what you have to work with. Kyrie was out but that team has been the team for the most part. No one talks about what Brunson has done for the most part by himself. And a bunch of potential. None of the players that have played the last 2 months with injuries were playing like this with anyone else. Potential realized with Brunson. But I'm a knicks fan. I know my bias

Ant on the court Minnesota is +8.4, off the court Minnesota is +4.1
Jokic on/off = 19.7
Ant on/off is 4.3

You just explain why that stat is dumb lol all that may mean is when Jokic leaves the game the coach is horrible at rotations because his team not trash but you just gave an argument where you could say they were. But you smart you know they not trash so again a lot of those metric are dumb because it’s so many factors into them

Not saying Jokic doesnt have a better +/- swing than Ant cause 100% does regardless and yes he shpuld win, but his +/- is sort of “exaggerated” due to malone being one of the few coaches to run full bench lineups the way he does, theres a reason that out of all mvp candidates jokic has the least minutes played with bench players by far and then when u account for +/- swings with 3 or more bench players he goes from first to 3rd amongst mvp candidates and luka goes from 2nd to 1st by a wide margin

I don't think Stak's thinking is wrong for MVP if his criteria is seed based. But if we're taking EVERYTHING into account on how this season played out, then Luka is the MVP no ifs, ands or buts. They literally were on the brink of the 9th seed and Luka willed his team back to the 5th seed while Kai was injured. If Jokic can win it when he was a 6th seed, Luka should definitely get it at the 5th seed.
