I’m surprised you didn’t demo the app. I think the only way you can lock the touch panel is through the app (so buttons don’t accidentally get pressed). I also liked that the app showed the voltage being used, and of course the temperatures

Sold by Jaycar in Australia as Brass Monkey brand. Cool feature is that you can buy adaptors for Dewalt Milwaukee and I think Makita batteries in that battery compartment. I just bought one, I have a 100 amp lithium second battery to run mine, I bought it because of the dual zone feature at $499 AUD, good price.
I tend to disagree on the battery, as it offers flexibility. It is a great feature, and the capacity may increase with time while fridge power consumption will stay the same. So what is not enough today can be enough tomorrow. Here in Australia, that brand is sold under the ROVIN or Brass Monkey. I use a 7.8Ah on my 18L, which is affordable here in Australia (less than USD$100), and a 15.6Ah for my 45L (I agree, that one is overpriced). The main reason I like the battery system: I do not have a dual battery setup in my car, so I enjoy that Lithium Battery kick up when I stop the car. Very useful during long road trips or simply when doing grocery shopping and do not want to rush home immediately after. On the 18L, my 7.8Ah battery lasts 5-6 hours in fridge mode, which is perfect, for a long picnic (you can carry around the Brass Monkey 18l, it has a large handle. Basically, it is like Esky bag) and 4-5 in freezer mode. On my 45L, it lasts 8-10 hours in fridge mode and 6-8 when mixing, which is enough for a day out when left in the car. The other benefits? When doing light camping (1 or 2 nights = minimal setup) using the solar panel 100w foldable from ROVIN (bought it for USD$50) that plugs directly in the fridge, it can definitely go through the night without a problem and recharge the day after. Australia can be hot in summer, so it really pushes the limit of energy saving for the fridge while camping, but we also have the sun starting around 4:30, so it is compensating. Honestly, I enjoy not carrying around my 120Ah lithium battery + box + 245 foldable solar panel for just an overnight camping. Conclusion: Using the battery mode is not to replace fully a larger lithium one but to give extra peace of mind or accommodate specific situations. When you have it, it is difficult to buy a normal fridge again.
Don't know how I missed this review but I'm actually trying to decide on this, Bougerv & Setpower in this size. Having wheels is a big edge. I did have a concern w/ the one year warranty but you addressed that part. Great review Jason.
I really like this fridge. It did really well in my testing. If you were going to use this fridge for camping trips throughout the year I would recommend it. If you were going to be running the fridge full time )all day everyday), I'd recommend a fridge with a Secop compressor to get a longer life from it.
@@Jasonoid True, I've had the 45qt SetPower for almost a year and run it everyday. I figured I'd run it hard as long as the warranty in in effect. But like power stations, you always need one more...at least we convince ourselves.
I just got one of these and i dont agree with him on the battery pack that fits in the fridge to be honest its a great add on for those going on road trips and make many stops where its setting in the car for hours or even less, most cars make you have the Key in the ignition for the 12v accessory port to be powered this is where the battery pack shines, you can be away from your car for 4-6 hours and put the fridge in Eco mode running on that battery pack from Bodega, food stay cold and car battery is safe....its a no brainer, Maybe not a good idea to mainly use this as a main power source but excellent for stepping away from the car for a few hours, to be honest if the long term reliability of this fridge is good i think it has just about everything going for itself.
Thanks for your comment, you are right! That's an excellent way to use the built in battery pack! For anything longer you'd need more storage but for short little bursts that totally makes sense!
@@Jasonoidwhat do you think on the quality of the compressor given you have seen the inside of many 12v fridge, Also in your reviews can you please add the amps the fridge pulls which is very important when plugging these into a vehicles accessory port, the watts are good to know but current draw is very important.
To find the amps, you can use the main electrical equation. Just take the watts and divide it by the volts (Volts X amps= watts). So if its drawing 35 watts / 12.8 volts is about 2.7 amps, not many apps at all. This fridge has great build quality, I didn't see any issues with the setup.
@@Jasonoid Thank you Jason I was worried about the Amps after I bought it and my socket is rated at 10amps/120W with a 15 amp fuse so looks like I should be good. I watched another one of your videos which I'm glad I did even though I wasn't going to buy the fridge you reviewed but at the end you talked about the 12v plug having some Voltage drop do you think that will be a problem given i will mainly be using it?
Voltage drop will only be an issue when you are running it off the 12v socket in your vehicle when your engine is NOT running. The alternator isn't charging the battery and the vehicle wires are usually too small which lead to voltage drop. When the engine is running the voltage is plenty high, usually around 13.8 volts or so. You also won't have an issue running the fridge off the internal battery when that has power. To be safe you can set the battery protection to the low setting.
Thank you for the review! Curious, ever think about doing a test to see if insulated covers for these work or not? From what I’m gathering is if it’s not too hot then it makes cooler work harder but in hotter temps some say it helps?
They do help a little bit but sometimes the covers can be pretty expensive so I'm not sure it's worth the added cost. The covers also protect the fridge from being scratched.
@Jasonoid I think what I want to do is get a box that's the same size as the glacier and see if it fits in my situation. I'm still not sure which has the best interior space either but the eagle flow really seems to be at least bulky for the amount of interior space. I did like the 45D for the lower price and still convertible dual-zone but it looks like the gallon of milk with kind of snug and the rest of the fridge space being up on top of the Shelf, did it stays cool at the rest of the fridge or is it one of those warmer spaces that people complain about? It also kind of look like the freezer section was more narrow than in the ecoflow Glacier as well. Is the glacier significantly more long since you don't have the space on top of the compressor as interior fridge space? I'm trying to figure out how it gets as much volume with the icemaker compromise and yet still look larger inside... I'm assuming it's shorter but wider? I would love to go car camping in just my VW Golf, the plan was to take the back seats out and put a platform in it then push the passenger seat ahead and extend the platform into the rear passenger footwell... I want to have a fridge with me and a Power Station. everything else should be relatively flexible so I could just toss solar panels in wherever, especially for have a rooftop box and I was planning on doing that up converter to increase my charge rate from 12-volt to somewhere above 24 volt as it turns out the Volkswagen Golf GTI has a pretty robust Bosch alternator from the factory. Great review! Mine arrived today but letting it sit for 24 hours before I can power it up. Anyone know of a good, easy to understand APP instruction manual ?
Hi! A question. After letting it sit 24 hours I powered it up, set the freezer side to it's lowest temp setting, made sure all 4 sides were unobstructed, room at 77F. A 16oz bottle of water did not fully freeze after being in the freezer for 8 hours. That was on MAX setting, not ECO. Is this normal? The temperature in the freezer side seems low enough. Bad seal maybe?
Hey Randy, the best way to see whats happening inside the fridge you'd want to use a 'fridge thermometer' of some sort. You can buy them off amazon for super cheap. For some of my fridges the display temp will be off of the actual inside temp so you'll need to adjust the temp higher or lower to match what you want. This happens on all brands I have tested, some displays are more accurate and some are off by a little bit more. I'm guessing the temp isn't a low as the display is showing? I have been able to freeze my water bottles in the past but it requires the temps to be near 0F or lower. If the temp is EXTREMELY off what the set point is then you know you have an issue.
@@Jasonoid Thank you so much Jason! I think this one is bad because it's set to -4F and on MAX mode and still didn't fully freeze the water and this was in an air conditioned office in the 70's. Usually after the compressor runs you'll hear some gurgling noises. This is normal for the dual zone models since that have valves that turn on and off.
This bodega is the same as a new air but the compressor on the new air is an LG. I can't find what compressor this bodega uses. Is it also an LG as well?

How is it holding up? I just got one & it worked for about one hour. I touched the lid & the lcd screen went black & will not turn back on. The USB charger & the interior light still work, but not the compressor & control panel. The fuse is good. I am waiting to hear back from the manufacturer. Have you had this issue or have any suggestions? Thanks
I just got one but unfortunately the LED lights weren’t working on the inside instead of them sending me a replacement they just wanted the old one back and refund me the money..
@@theattorney6072 taking any electronics onto the beach is a little risky. I don't live near the ocean so I haven't tried it but I know salt water does a number to electronics. It might cause premature corrosion.
The compressor just spins slower, using less power. Which takes longer to cool the fridge down but usually eco mode is all you need. Max mode is for high temps and when trying to cool it down really fast.
Is there a Bluetooth icon on the fridge display? I downloaded the app from the manual qr code, gave permission to the app (maybe you said no to the app permissions?) I turned on my phone bluetooth, opened the app, searched for a fridge, the Bodega appeared and it connected. So two issues maybe: App permissions need to be given Bluetooth on the fridge needs to be enabled
@@Jasonoid there is a Bluetooth icon on the frig. I don't know if it is enabled. Doesn't say anything about enabling it. I dumped the app and reloaded it from the qr code. Still nothing. I might have to call them guess. Gave permission to.
I don't think so. These fridges are made by Alipcool so check out that brand and you should be able to find an LG model compressor. I'd also recommend checking out ICECO with their Secop compressors, they are very reliable as well.
That analog refrigerator thermometer you have is antiquated and junk. It's going to give you a ballpark figure compared to the most likely thermocouple in the Bodega. I would not recommend using this advice. They are inaccurate. Same as the old school barbecue thermometers. Junk.
It matches my infrared gun thermometer to the T. I have always had great results with this brand. As for other brands out there...I can't say if they suck or not because I haven't tested with them.
I just bought this T50 six weeks ago and twice have had 3 dashes come up on the refrigerator screen. Ambient temperature this time 61, ambient temperature last time 75. There is nothing on the troubleshooting guide or manual about how to fix. Worse. They literally have NO customer service. The only way to get in touch is by email, and they do not respond. Hey, I'm working on it every night! I just got a family and day job...l gotta make it super awesome. It should be out within a week, I promise! haha
@@Jasonoid i understand brother just teasing. I can’t wait.
What steps did you do in order to get it paired to your phone
I just downloaded the app and searched for the device and it connected.
Im worried about the longevity of those plastic latches on the lid i cant see those snapping off very easy
I haven't seen an issue with using the fridge. The large metal handle is pretty sturdy.
I have the T50 but whend is pluged in it sounds like its water bubbling😂😂,is that normal?
Usually after the compressor runs you'll hear some gurgling noises. This is normal for the dual zone models since that have valves that turn on and off.
This bodega is the same as a new air but the compressor on the new air is an LG. I can't find what compressor this bodega uses. Is it also an LG as well?
It uses a Chinese off brand compressor. I noticed that it performs well like the LG.
@@Jasonoid good to know. I'll probably just go for the new air because of the brand compressor. Thanks for answering!
Review of the eb55 when?
Should be out soon, im working on the video today and this next week. I have a day job, a family, and other things to do so I can't put all my time to youtube videos. Stay tuned it's pretty awesome!
Nobody covers what is required to run it via solar, ie cord required, type of solar panel, solar controller if needed, etc.
Hey good timing! Video coming out tomorrow about an entire solar kit that will work with this fridge, stay tuned!
Thanks
I haven't had any issues with mine. I'd suggest seeing they they will replace yours under warranty.
I bought one came to me not working. Returned it back to amzom.
Same model? That stinks. Did the package seem damaged?
What is the best and easiest way to connect it to your android phone via Bluetooth?
quick question, can you compare the bodega and the newair battery I'm wondering if it's the same battery and If can use either battery?
They are interchangeable since they are the same.
@@Jasonoid thank you!!
I just got one but unfortunately the LED lights weren’t working on the inside instead of them sending me a replacement they just wanted the old one back and refund me the money..
Weird, maybe the don't have current stock of the fridge?
@@Jasonoid
Probably I message them again This time through there actual website another then Amazon I haven’t received an message yet
Can the wheels roll on sand at the beach ?
Not the super loose stuff, packed sand yes.
@@Jasonoid ok thx. And how about cleaning the wheels and fridge After a Beach day ? Is it easy to remove, clean (remove Sand ...) ?
@@theattorney6072 taking any electronics onto the beach is a little risky. I don't live near the ocean so I haven't tried it but I know salt water does a number to electronics. It might cause premature corrosion.
Car battery shutoff? Is this better than the new air?
They are the same fridge, same manufacturer different brand stamp.
I thought the New-air had a different compressor 😮. Is LG compressor any better than what is in this Bodega?
New air has a smart car emergency engine shut off chip
@@thebfam6191 , what is a smart car emergency shut off chip? 🤷🏻♀️
@@Huelsing- it won’t discharge or cause an electrical fire on the car battery
What's the deal with eco mode it doesn't save power it just cycles the fridge less!!😱🤔
The compressor just spins slower, using less power. Which takes longer to cool the fridge down but usually eco mode is all you need. Max mode is for high temps and when trying to cool it down really fast.
I can not get the Bluetooth to find the frig. Any help
You got the app installed?
@@Jasonoid yes I installed the app.
It just doesn't recognize the frig at all. Been messing with it for 2 hours now. Turned frig off n back on, trying anything now
Is there a Bluetooth icon on the fridge display? I downloaded the app from the manual qr code, gave permission to the app (maybe you said no to the app permissions?) I turned on my phone bluetooth, opened the app, searched for a fridge, the Bodega appeared and it connected.
So two issues maybe:
App permissions need to be given
Bluetooth on the fridge needs to be enabled
@@Jasonoid there is a Bluetooth icon on the frig. I don't know if it is enabled. Doesn't say anything about enabling it. I dumped the app and reloaded it from the qr code. Still nothing. I might have to call them guess. Gave permission to.
Are some of the Bodegas LG compressors?
I don't think so. These fridges are made by Alipcool so check out that brand and you should be able to find an LG model compressor. I'd also recommend checking out ICECO with their Secop compressors, they are very reliable as well.
How long can it last with a single charge?
Depends on the battery you have it running on. What do you plan to run it in and I can give you a good estimate?
Cutting raw meat? Don't worry about it. "You just put the cutting board right back in and lock it in place."
🤣😂
How is this fridge already sold out? 😭
It was sold out before the video haha, it's still on amazon though. Not sure when they will be back in stock.
power consumption sucks :(
Didn't seem that bad to me. Most dual compartment fridges/freezers will run just like this. If you want less power consumption go with a single zone
I advise people not to buy from this company.
So basically an ICECO 🙄
No, ICECO doesn't make anything like this. Most of their fridges don't offer app control.... Well they do have the GO20 that does.
@@Jasonoid Really? icecofreezer.com/blogs/events/expandable-portable-refrigerator
Ok, so no app who acre it's a fridge and you can put a bluetooth thermostat in there.
@@MIAMIC70 what are you getting at? I'm confused dude....
@@Jasonoid Same 12v fridge sold under Bodega, ICECO, Bushman, etc... logos
@@MIAMIC70 dude if you think this fridge is remotely close to that Iceco 35 liter you need your eyes checked lol. That's a metal design with a secop compressor. Not even close to this Bodega haha, check again.
