Tabernacle of Moses: Introduction to the 5 Levitical Sacrifices Dr. Terry Harman The Tabernacle Man

- Video presentation on the Tabernacle of Moses and the 5 Levitical Offerings or sacrifices. Discussion to the Hebrew word Korbon often translated into English as "sacrifice." In English translations the meaning of korbon is missed. Korbon means, "to draw near to." The offerer is bringing a tangible representation of the heart-felt conviction of wanting to draw closer to the Lord.

All throughout the OT. Study and pray. It will come to you. Start with Isaiah. I suspect you are being facetious as i see your scoffing posts elsewhere, but God will not be mocked. Good question, however.
@@rebeccasmith8567 Jesus isn't in Isaiah or anywhere else in Hebrew scriptures (not old testament, new covenant when there is universal knowledge of God and peace on earth not here yet). You think he is but every single time if you study honestly in Hebrew and in context he is not there. I got a question, if Christianity teaches there can be no forgiveness of sin without the shedding of blood, why are there countless examples in the Hebrew scriptures of people achieving forgiveness thru prayer and repentance???? A sensible answer please or get on your knees and pray for forgiveness for idolatry.

It would take years to get you to understand scripture, if you ever do. The ONLY way you will ever understand is by fasting, prayer and study.
The name "Jesus" is NOT in the OT, for before he was "begotten" of God and became Yeshua, he was the Word of God" (Logos).
He was the one who gave Moses the Commandments. No one ever saw God's face or heard His voice, yet Moses spoke to "God" ''face to face.'' This was the entity who later became Christ. Just one example. Others are the prediction of his coming physical birth as set out in the Prophets.

Many do not see that the perfect sacrificial animal is a symbol for God...who gives himself for us.
Thanks for your kind words and viewing my site.
Thank you for these teachings and you amazing and immediate response. I deleted the comment because the beginning of another video stated that the offerings were completely burnt so that there was no use for the material afterward. Another question I have, is how did they determine if the offering was pleasing to God? Was this determined by the priest. I know in scripture there was Cain and Abel, it doesn't provide much detail about how the offerings are favored other than I assume Cain's heart was not right when making his offerings and therefore did not receive favor.
One of the priests inspected all offerings at the gate of the tabernacle. No blemishs.

Great teaching
Thank you.
As a christian I do believe Jesus sacrifice replaced this system. However I do find the old system interesting. I have been reading the bible for years, but have come to the realization there is a good amount of things I do not fully understand
Read the letter to the Hebrews. It clearly says that the tabernacle and its services were figures, types and shadows of Christ’s redemptive work for mankind. It also says the earthly tabernacle was a representation of the true tabernacle in heaven where Jesus Christ serves as our high priest.
At 10:50 today’s application would be: would you offer to God your employer? Would you be as diligent to get to church on time as you would to get to work??
Today’s application: the heart and the motives for loving God and neighbors.
Vayikra - And He Called
(3 times in Torah)
Levites represented God’s accountability and authority
The offering represented the offerer.
Thank you for viewing my video and your kind comment. I hope it helped you as you learn about the Bible.
ABBA FATHER THANK YOU YHVH
The temple service was to teach us on how YHVH wants to be approached and a sacrifice was to cost you something.also to show us we need a saviour..
Thank you so much.
Thank you for watching. I appreciate your comments.
I think the intro on your videos is very impressive.
Thank you. I appreciate the feedback.
Thank you so much for this and other videos. I have a question: for a sinner's offering a sin offering, does the sinner kill the animal and then the priest does the rest (sprinkling of blood, cutting up the animal, burning it, etc.)? or does the sinner do more than kill the animal?
There is some debate as to who slays the animal. Everything else done by priest.
What do you think about Andy Hoy’s book about The Tabernacle being some shaped?
I’ve heard of the theory but I have not read the book.
@@TheTabernacleMan it seems logical to me. Thanks for the reply.
I was expecting to hear and see how the sacrifices/offerings was actually done.. this is a rated G version because the bible says breaking necks sliting throats getting fat and sperating of different organs the spinkinkling of blood on the alter and people and burning them
Well you are correct. If I would have killed animals just for the sake of teaching that would not only be more expensive than my budget it would be a problem for viewers.
@@TheTabernacleMan whoa! I am one of your viewers 😂 but I understand what you mean
I see so much of Yeshua in the ark of the covenant but I also see some much of Leviticus as spiritual for us to go by.
Thank you. I'm glad you are learning.
Could you also expound "wave offering" please. Haven't quite understood who is it referring to, whether the sheaves are talking about the Lord Jesus and through Him we are accepted or was His sacrifice upon the cross that was accepted.
Thank you for watching. I appreciate your comments. Wave offering video hopefully will be produced soon.
She is beautiful
Thank you
Who is caring of God, is it the one who is giving the offering or the priest that makes sure the offering is not blemished? Who is really making the sacrifice, is it the person making the offering or the priest who does the sacrificial burning?
The priest is the officiant to ensure proper procedures. The intention, the heart or the motives of the one bringing the offering (Korban) only revealed the person’s desire to seek God and draw closer to him by receiving atonement.
@@TheTabernacleMan What you seem to suggest is that the priest has no desire to get closer to God or to receive atonement. That his services as a personal agenda are basically meaningless in terms of getting to God. That is if any boon is to be given by God that the priest would take no part in that boon nor skim something off for himself, assuming that God's grace might lead to wealth. Off course the sheep stinking peasant bringing his sheep for the sacrifice would have to pay in shekels for the priestly servants actions, for God wants incense burners in his temple to free God of the stench of sheep stinking peasants, as opposed to freeing the priestly ones of such stench.. This of course is all being done in the ""wilderness"": I believe there was a Moses but I fear that a conversation with the infinite being that goes on and on is unlikely and it seems that it was more likely done to secure boons for a priestly class and probably not by Moses or God. I am interested in your understanding about the nature of sacrifice and how the destruction of innocent animals "with out blemish" solves the problem of sin.
@@marshalldarcy7423 no that is not my point. The offerings others bring are for their Thanksgiving or sin. The priests as far as atonement appear only to be covered with the Day of Atonement sacrifices discussed in Leviticus 16.
Seeing that this system is ancient. How do jews of today of get there sins forgiven.
By prayers from the heart.
The same way they always did. Grace.
God's name is holy but not secret. How are we to believe in His unknown name? This make no logic.
Its a Jewish tradition or for some Jewish law not to pronounce the name. I'm not aware of a command in the Bible not to say the name.
Rabbi, what is the proper name of your Lord god since the Most High introduced His holy name to Moshe? (Exodus 3:13-15)

Why in Numbers do the Israelites complain of only having manna to eat when they are making sacrifices left and right of all their live stock? And, it is clear the Levities are eating the meat of some of the sacrifices. This is a very clear inconsistency in my eyes.

What does year CE (Common Error) mean?
It is used among biblical scholars to include the period when biblical Judaism and Christianity both exist. Sometimes BCE is used to refer to the time period before Christianity coexisted with Judaism. The Common Era begins with year 1 in the Gregorian calendar. CE and BCE are used in exactly the same way as the traditional abbreviations AD and BC.
AD is short for Anno Domini,
Latin for in the year of the Lord.
BC is an abbreviation of Before Christ.
Common era..during jesus time til today

The Sacrifices of Leviticus ceased because they were fulfilled with the Crucial Sacrifice of Jesus
I appreciate your point of view, but historically you are in accurate. The sacrifices continued up until 8070 when the Romans destroyed the second temple, however with Christian theology, there is the belief that the sacrifices are no longer required because of the death, burial and resurrection of Christ so you are correct on that end but historically your timeline is off. Thank you for commenting.
You go to God through Jesus Christ who is the Eternal high priest after the order of Melchizedek. Jesus Christ fulfilled the law of Moses. For without the shedding of blood is no remission of sin. The veil leading to the holy of holies in the temple was torn when Jesus died. Our body is a temple of the Holy Spirit of the most high God. The tedious maintenance, cleansing ceremonies of the physical Temple represents how we are to maintain holiness in our life and body.
Amen!
"But when the fulness of time had come, God sent foeth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons."

No he didnt. If he existed at all he wasn’t a priest and he never fulfilled not one prophecy from the Hebrew Bible
So why don't jews offer animals anymore? They reject Yehosua, Jesus as final sacrifice! So what is there motive for not obeying the Law?
The Romans destroyed the temple. There’s no place to offer the sacrifices.
The belief is that another temple will be erected.

wayyiqra with YHWH as subject and Moses as object also in Exodus 19:20; 24:16; cf. 34:6.

How convenient that they switch the narrative and all of a sudden prayer makes atonement instead of the blood of animals.
Narrative as you say happened when the Temple was destroyed by the Romans. In order to continue the practice of Judaism, what we call the Pharisees today developed into Rabbinic Judaism, hence the sacrifice of the heart. However, there are Orthodox Jews today that yearn for the Temple to be rebuilt and animal sacrifices to be reinstituted.

You also forgot that the ONLY reason God had to do all those things in the old testament is because we humans Sinned against him. God gave us Free will and we took that free will and set ourself against God and did everything against him. If a earthy Father wouldn't spanks you after you did something you woren't suppose to do he would be a terrible father and so since God is a perfect Father he always spanks us when we sin against him, and he will do that by putting his Judgement upon us personally or as a whole so we would than see the errors of our ways and repent so he can than heal our land. @@heartforchrist7004, his point was, that if Yahuah gave humans free will, then he shouldn't be angry at 'em. If he wanted dolls, then no reason to give humans free will in the first place.
Yahuah is an asshole in the OT.
In NT he isn't really better. Making a person die for the mistakes of others isn't just or good.
Well go to the front, when ive got money
Christianity is a continuation of Greco Roman religion, not the Hebrew religion which is the so-called NT is completely incoherent in relation to the Hebrew Bible
I would disagree. Yes the New Testament has a Greco Roman influence and therefore written in Koine Greek. But many of the themes and some verses are directly quoted or referenced from the Torah or Tanach.
You use the terms CE and BCE and yet are supposed to be teaching about God???
You better stop and think about that.
Please look at dictionary to learn what the are Latin abbreviations for BC and AD. When I use CE I am referring to biblical scholarly understanding that the time I am referring to is CE the Common Era when the followers of the Way of Jesus and Judaism coexisted at the same time meaning the religion “Christianity” did not exist. BCE is Before the Common Era meaning the period of time when both of the above were active and the “parting of ways” had not happened. Most believe the New Testment’s reference of the king in power at time of Jesus birth was 4-5 BC. So in your thinking what does that mean?
What creeps me out. I think this man would actually carry out these sacrifices. Animal lovers
Around the world prepare to rise.....
If you look closely all the animals are fake. Stuffed. The video is for illustration purposes.
