- Nightingale is a survival crafting game set in a fantastical world of Fae magic and high adventure. In this video I showcase the first hour of Nightingale gameplay, first quests, crafting system, combat tutorial, and realm exploration.
We first meet Puck, our guide to the Fae realms, and receive cards we use to navigate between realms. Then we briefly skim over the first three tutorial worlds, taking a quick look at lore and early game loot, before setting up our first base and encountering friendly NPCs who can gather resources for us!
Disclosure: this video is tagged with 'Paid Promotion' because I received a Steam code for a copy of the game from the developer (via @Dangthatsalongname - thanks Scott!)
I did not receive any additional sponsorship payment or guidance from the developer to make this video.
Hope you enjoy this look at Nightingale! I don't plan to make a full series on this game, but it might pop up on Twitch streams occasionally, so make sure to follow me over there: / pixlriffs

i'm sad this hasn't got more views, I really think it deserves it. Would love to see more!
I love that Puck drops in references to Midsummer Night's Dream in his speech (ie, "I shall restore amends" from the last couplet or so)
It’s really cool to see you check out other games! You always have such an interesting perspective on things, and it’s fun to see you explore new environments like this
Something about the image of Pix standing and waiting patiently with an umbrella out for goblins to come through the portal made me chuckle. This game is certainly an interesting one. I agree, it does bring to mind Dishonored a bit, what with the Victorian flair and the mystical elements. Puck could pass as an Outsider type lol
I saw an ad for this game yesterday and thought it looked beautiful and interesting. Thank you for this sneak peek into how this game will potentially be to play! I enjoyed it and am now even more curious about this game!
Wake up babe, wait its still night time- oh shoot we aint in the survival guide with this episode 🗣️🗣️🗣️
Talking seriously, i love how you're exploring more games other than Minecraft, and i love how youre transforming more from a Minecraft specific channel to a more wide and ranged content. Keep doin what you love pix ❤
Thank you so much for this video! I heard you mention it on stream, same as Enshrouded. I’ve been loving Enshrouded, and I was curious about this one as well, but the idea of this game on a server has been making me nervous of getting it. Your gameplay here looks fun and intriguing and I may pick this up.
I like seeing you play different games pix, glad you branch out to more than just Minecraft, keeps things a bit fresher
I loved this! Also does anyone else think Puck sounds kinda like Martyn/ Inthelittlewood?
I got strong Ian McShane vibes. Had to look it up to be sure it wasn't him.
The crafting is similar to crafting the game called forest. I personally like it. It helps me put things together, look how it looks make changes and then build it. In games like minecraft you have to build in other world load a schematic. It too hectic. So this kind of building is good for builders like me.
Yep, instantly thought that as soon as the crafting book came up on screen, even the same template placing system.
Agree with you that the art work is amazing. Probably not my sort of game because there’s too much fighting and I’m rubbish at battling- Peaceful Minecraft builder- that’s me. 😂
I always enjoy these first hour gameplay videos!
Really hope to see you get deeper into this and peep what build you make when you unlock all the options 👀 there are some really cool looking pieces, unique and inspiring.
a tip - the skinning knife does the least damage of all the starter tools, you are better using the pick or axe for dispatching early enemies
Dang, this Minecraft DnD dlc is looking good. 😉
But seriously, im only 10 minutes in and im already sold.
Fae fantasy drew me in, can’t wait to see how it develops!
Interesting! I might pick this up. Thanks Pix!
This is cool, introducing new games. Wish you'd upload Enshrouded episode 2 or multiplayer
There's some more Enshrouded over on my @pixlVODs channel, and I have a couple more stream VODs I need to post there :)
I love the vibe on this one. I wonder if they plan to have 3rd person eventually, I have a lot of trouble with headaches and motion sickness in 1st.
I saw an ad for this game! I'm so happy to learn more of it through this video
This game seems like a cross-over between "The Forest" and "Dishonored" with some extra magic spliced into it.
I would love to see more of this game! It has some unique gameplay and is beautiful.
This is pretty neat. The building and crafting reminds me of Grounded, though the combat is definitely not as good as in Grounded. Hopefully they will improve that before full release.
Nice video as always pix :)
I'm holding off on this one. The simple fact of being forced to play "always online" even for solo gaming is the showstopper.
Me too. If there's a singleplayer option, it should absolutely NOT be forced always online!
You can play solo. It just doesn’t pause, that’s the main effect of it being “on-line.”
I just bought my copy and am psyched to play with my girlfriend! I must say i'm super intrigued by it.
Cannabis provides really good plant fiber.
Idk games nowadays waste so much time setting up some super elaborate character creator but then forget about the gameplay
Hey Pix, have you played Valheim? You might like that. Could make another good Early Access First Look. FIY: The creatures in the desert are hostile to you if you attack them. Though not sure if they leave you alone if you don't.
I find it really unintuitive that your offhand is your left hand but the off hand hot bar is on the right side. but that's just a nitpick and I know it's still in EA
you should break down the chest it gives you special wood that you'll need later on.
Try valheim I think you love it
Hello pix!
More games! Buut i really wonder what the multiplayer project will be about...
He mentioned something about a new smp starting this weekend but I haven't heard any details. Can't wait though!
@@proudpups4652mythicalsausage said something about sos, but i dont know if pix is in there too.
Hi pixlriffs
How many times are game developers gonna make this game?
Is that John Hurt talking?
It's not but it's surprisingly like John Hurt's voice considering who it actually is.
It's Marc Warren, who was also on Dr. Who in an episode called Love and Monsters and was also Mr. Teatime in Terry Pratchett's "Hogfather"
@@BinaryJoe interesting🤔
@@RockyBlocky6130 if you've never seen Hogfather, I highly recommend it. Mr. Teatime is a super creepy antagonist and Discworld is just awesome.
This be Good IOoOI
Is this not just ark - with a fantasy mod?
Good. Like. More? :)
Ever tried Valheim?
Hey Pix have you seen the elden ring dlc trailer?
Of course! Pretty hyped for it, hoping the seamless co-op mod will be compatible soon after so Zloy and I can stream it like we used to
@@Pixlriffs looking forward to those streams!
Huh. A faerealm valheim?
Well, are the gals nightin?
second?
First
Listen I’m the queerest mf of all but how do you pick two fathers or mothers and have a baby in the 1800’s? Like, I dig it, but HUH
I have a lot of answers but none of them are appropriate for a Minecraft RUclipsr's comment section.
The fae can make your wildest dreams come true... for a price.
I honestly dont like survival crafting games cuz they’re very repetitive and pointless, and the graphics are also generally bad, but seeing one of my favorite minecraft-only youtuber play 2 of them in a month concerns me. Honestly though, I might try out Enshrouded, it looks really fun!
First person makes no sense with character creation. So stupid.
Play Minecraft
Literally every other video on this channel is Minecraft my dude, relax :)
@@Pixlriffs I'm just joking lol
