    He's talking about how the welth gap between Elon and Bezos was bigger than the welth gap betwen Elon and a homeless person. (I don't know if that was literally true, but his point still is). It wasn't a prediction that Elon was going broke and was going to be homeless you smoothbrained babies. I think more than 90% of workers here are members of a union. The rest 10% are just part-time student workers or summer workers so they don't need to be in the union anyway because they will continue their way to other jobs and adventures.
    The amount of protection here is that if you would get laid off or fired - you will get around 70% of your salary for two years even if you stay home and eat chips all day. I'm a plumber myself. Free education doesn't mean everyone attends - especially when you can get a high quality of life even as a cashier or a cleaning lady. Huge part of being happy in life is listening to yourself and going that route. In the US there is huge pressure to choose a "smart" path rather than what you want. Because it can feel like "a one time deal" due to the high cost of tuitions.

Those are what I call "corporate taxes" because necessities should be provided by a company owned/partially owned or atleast regulated by the government.

But unlike them, Hasan repeatedly insults conservatives/libertarians and anyone who isn't a progressive. So being insulted and provided a narrative with multiple flaws and factual mistakes will cause any rational person to consider disliking the video. The same thing happens with most of the mainstream or legacy media channels on RUclips. And the results show many of the dislikes are from the progressive left as well. People dislike misinformation and propaganda, and this interview with Hasan had a big heaping pile of it.

The real irony though, when you call someone on the left a racist for saying genuinely racist things like when they call a black republican an 'uncle Tom'. They lose their minds. On immigration, I'm sure 90% of immigrants would have gone back to their home countries if the situation in their origin countries had got a bit better, but the problem is that, despite all recent technological advances, the economic-social situation in third world counties have been getting much worse due to governments' corruption, dictatorship and suppression.
    I'm an immigrant myself and came to Canada about 3 years ago from a middle eastern country. In the past when our country had a more moderate more secular government, people used to have so much fun and better lifestyle there comparing to people living in America or Canada. We used to eat healthier there, we would work less, socialize more (I'm talking about before Corona) and had more leisure and travel time than Americans. In the past, nobody wanted to immigrate. Even those who had come to western countries for studying would usually go back to their home countries.
    So yes, as Hasan said, unfortunately US government has been supporting and funding radical religious groups in other countries for years and now we're seeing the results of it in the form of an immigration crisis.

    I only just discovered Hasan after his most recent appearance on H3 leftovers and really enjoy his opinions on so many topics. Like Hila in this episode, I really appreciated so many points he made about the content creators we watch; particularly the unoriginality of drama commentary, not to encourage cancellation of others, not wanting fans to brigade and discouraging hate mobs/overly invested fans that go after peoples sponsors . All such valid points and he seems to be very balanced in his attitude towards others 💛

    Idk how anyone can believe that billionaires are at all ethical while poverty is such a huge problem in wealthy countries and in poor countries people don’t even have their most basic needs of food and clean water met. No one should be living on the streets, or rationing medicine, or watching their children die from waterborne illness.

    I really enjoyed this episode. Not that I want H3 to always be political, but to be fair it is political pretty often anyways, and I felt like Hasan's good rapport with both Ethan and Hila allows the conversation to be jokey while remaining at least somewhat intellectually grounded in whatever topic they pass by. I look forward to the next time Hasan comes on, but what Im really getting at is that you should make Hasan a semi-regular guest, at least for specifically political episodes. There aren't enough good progressive content creators and I think this would be a cool way for y'alls communities to boost each other, especially going into election season.

      I dislike that politics is treated as separate from normal day-to-day stuff, when politics affects so many peoples day-to-day lives in adverse ways.

    • @johnnycamine
      @johnnycamine 4 года назад +3

      @@zaidabraham7310 I feel you, it'd be cool to be able to talk about it more openly since it does affect so many people, but the flip side of that is that because it affects so many people it can be a very sensitive topic to many and I think it can derail other meaningful conversations if you analyze literally everything through a political lens. Just my 2 pennies though
