I was extremely lucky to be a student of your Achachen, Prof AE Augustine. When I studied in SB college for pre-degree, he decided to teach the junior most students in the college. His reason was simple, let me try to correct when they are young. He taught us grammar in 1st year and ‘Vicar of Wakefield’, a novel by Oliver Goldsmith in 2nd year. Those lessons still stay. That inspiration still stay.
You spoke awesome and I cried. Wish you the best Roshan.

Gosh! After reading so many fiction and non fiction, after seeing a few plays, after all the movies of the 70's to the now Hi Tech movies which boggles the mind with its ability to make us believe it is in existence, I never imagined that a simple story could keep me transfixed till the end and beyond.
The profoundness is in its simplicity as is the Universe.
Achachans belly did pass on the core knack of story telling into this boy. Truly! 😍

I have told that I'm a great fan of Roshan and today I Repeat the same. It took 8 minutes and 40 seconds to watch this and I'm glad that this video took that much time from my life. It was absolutely worth it. I'm sure nobody could neither explain about 'Aalummoottil' the way you did nor what that house meant to Prof. A.E. Augustine. I literally had a roller coaster ride through the entire Time frame since the house was built. I felt like I was there standing on the other end of the space left in the 10 seater dining table.... Watching your slight movements on your grandfather's belly... This one was deep... Much Love and hugs to you...

Amazing experience through his home 🏠 and for a second I believed that it’s my own home. But with time everything changes, infact change is the only constant. But one ☝🏼 thing time can’t change is compassion, affection and gratitude, and that is what humanises us all. We all have our own childhood stories and he just shared our story by name of his own. Dude.. stop it! The narrative was so nostalgic though I was not a part of it. The way you said it I got goosebumps, especially where the name board had 'in' even after his death (more so cause I lost my dad this Jan) and how you explained that it seemed people bowed down where there was a dip due to the well. You are deep. Please stay the same even after the game and stuff. Stay real 🙂

Pact with the Universe still not broken.
The universe never breaks any pacts and its a secret we all should be aware of.
Ask and live as Achachan did.
Happy to know that you too are from my very sweet childhood hometown Changanacherry and I too remember the Bypass road situation.

I think your achachan’s narrative style lives through you Roshan ! You may not remember the stories but even as a kid you picked his nuances of storytelling. The style might have diffused into your head as you sat on his round belly ❤

Very nicely narrated, brings back memories of the Professor's who passionately taught, leaves a doubt on whether the students these days would connect with their teachers as in those days!

What a wonderful story, Roshan. And so well narrated. My grandfather's house at Aligarh has the same magical allure and significance for me and let's see if I can come up with it's story now that I've heard your wonderfully constructed tale.
