A very cool showcase you got there! I now regret not going as far as National Park as your shots there looked awesome! Was a good day bad by all and one I certainly will remember. Thanks for the mention in the description!
Forty years ago I worked on the Railway and the DA was the boss! They were great engines to shunt as they had good vision with the driver (and his assistant in the good old days) and there was a decent place to stand unlike the DE and DG.I was a station agent and later on the shunt at Otahuhu and Wiri.Looking back and after a lot of jobs the NZR was the best job I ever had.I left in1979 before it all turned to crap with the truck lobby taking over.Nothing as bracing as taking a hot box off at 2am in the pissing rain in a badly lit yard😂
A great video of the Steam Incorporated excursion. To have two DA's was a bonus. 😀

Great video, it sounds to me like on E-Bell at National Park is ringing faster than the other.

You should check out mainline steam, though they don’t have any excursions at the moment they do sometimes go toward Taurunga
I've certainly heard of MLS. One time around June 2007, they sent JA 1275 up to the Bay of Plenty for an excursion to Kawerau.
Cool video!
