Welcome to my channel, where I aim to upload videos once a week (at minimum). I review Train Sim World 4 or Train Simulator (classic) DLC, complemented by the occasional real-life railfanning video from far away New Zealand, as well as original or adapted Thomas The Tank Engine stories (recorded in Trainz 2019). Sometimes I also make RUclips Poops or other silly meme videos.
My favourite episode of Thomas The Tank Engine is Season 5 - Episode 2 'Horrid Lorry' (or Season 4 - Episodes 1 & 2 'Granpuff' and 'Sleeping Beauty'), and my favourite Railway Series book is No. 19 'Mountain Engines'.

The Hamilton Rail Scene (ft. EF electrics and DC 4818) ~ 14/11/2024 (HD)
A very busy day at Hamilton's Frankton railway station. Aside from the usual DL-hauled freight trains, things to look out for include the Northern Explorer and Te Huia passenger trains (hauled by 'DFB' diesel locomotives) and two refurbished 'EF' electrics on Trains 390 and 229, then DC 4663 on the M52 shunt (and still running in MAXX blue). We'll also see the Glenbrook Vintage Railway's DC 4818 and DBR 1254 returning home from a multi-day railtour.

Chasing DCs 4513 and 4467 on the Waitoa Branch ~ 05/11/2024 (HD)
Просмотров 48612 часов назад
On Tuesday the 5th of November, I was over in Morrinsville to see DCs 4513 and 4467 on the M52 shunt to Waitoa. 4853 was recently swapped out for 4513, while 4467 was still running on the shunt after at least three months. It's somewhat ironic that none of the seven DCs I've seen within the last month were 4260. Instead, they were 4467, 4513, 4559, 4761, 4801, 4818 and 4876. This was the very f...
'Talent 2' EMU showcase ~ Train Sim World 5

A brief look at my favourite German EMU as she appears in Train Sim World 5. Three variants are available in the game, namely the S-Bahn Mitteldeutschland BR1442.1, DB Regio BR442.2 and DB Regio / VVO BR442.1. The units are included with the Rapid Transit, Schnellfahrstrecke Köln and Nahverkehr Dresden routes respectively. Although she stands out in her distinctive silver livery, the original R...
L 508 in steam at Shantytown ~ 30/10/2024 (HD)
Просмотров 1,1 тыс.16 часов назад
For the last video in my South Island series, we stay on the West Coast for a visit to Shantytown. This is a tourist attraction featuring a recreated 19th century gold-rush town, an old sawmill, gold panning demonstrations and - of course - the 3ft 6inch gauge 'Infants Creek Tramway'. This line runs for 1.5 kilometres through the bush and up gradients as steep as 1 in 26; at the end of the line...
Chasing DXC 5379 and DFB 7160 on the Hokitika shunt ~ 29/10/2024 (HD)
Просмотров 41321 час назад
The Hokitika Branch (on the South Island's West Coast) is only used by a once-daily shunt that serves the Westland Milk Products factory; a far cry from what the branch saw in its heyday. I suppose one train a day is better than nothing. On the afternoon of Tuesday October 29, we chased the X6D shunt from Awatuna to Greymouth, with DXC 5379 and DFB 7160 doing the honours (quite a contrast from ...
Chasing DFB 7241 on the TranzAlpine (ft. Otira bankers) ~ 29/10/2024 (HD)
Просмотров 60021 час назад
The TranzAlpine is a world-famous passenger train running from Christchurch to Greymouth, as one of KiwiRail's three long-distance passenger services (the other two are the Northern Explorer and Coastal Pacific). After years of knowing about the West Coast, I finally got the chance to go over there in October 2024, but I wasn't on the train itself. At some point, I will be a passenger on the Tr...
Kitson steam tram No. 7 in action at Ferrymead ~ 28/10/2024 (HD)
Просмотров 3,9 тыс.День назад
The Tramway Historical Society's Kitson steam tram (of 1881) is one of the most unique survivors from any of New Zealand's old tram networks. She is fully restored and occasionally runs with her trailer coaches on the Ferrymead Tramway, which is part of the heritage park and (mostly) runs parallel to the nearby 3ft 6inch gauge railway. No. 7 was running over Labour Weekend, so I took the opport...
The Christchurch Rail Scene (ft. DM 8012) ~ Labour Weekend 2024 (HD)
Просмотров 560День назад
The KiwiRail lines in Christchurch weren't as busy on Labour Weekend as they normally are, but here's my coverage of some of the trains that still ran. We'll mostly see freight services, but DXR 8007 also appears with the Coastal Pacific passenger train. One major catch was DM 8012 at Middleton depot. 8012 is a brand-new Stadler-built locomotive that had only been in New Zealand for one week be...
JA 1260 in steam at the Plains Railway ~ 27/10/2024 (HD)
Просмотров 390День назад
JA 1260 is a big 4-8-2 tender engine built in 1952. Following withdrawal from NZR service in 1971, she's now enjoying an easy retirement at the Plains Railway, a short heritage line south of Ashburton. On Labour Weekend, she was in steam and taking passengers up and down the line. The Plains Railway is a restored section of the former Mount Somers Branch, and besides the mighty JA, their collec...
Scenes from the Christchurch Tramway ~ Labour Weekend 2024 (HD)

As is tradition whenever I go to Christchurch, I spent some time filming the vintage trams in the city centre (there's a second tram line out at Ferrymead, which I also visited on this trip). The current line first opened in 1995, but it's purely a tourist operation, as indicated by the ticket price (a staggering $40.00 - NZD for a day pass, with no single-trip tickets available). In any case, ...

A special event at the Ferrymead Railway in Christchurch, featuring an impressive roster of steam, diesel and electric locomotives in operation on Saturday the 26th. The stars of the show were F 13, D 140, EO 3, EC 7, DE 511 and Vulcan Railcar RM 56. The F and D steam locomotives ran normal public services on Sunday and Monday. Besides that lot, we'll also take a look at WF 393 (a 2-6-4 tank en...

A brief showcase of three TSG add-ons, namely the Vossloh G6, Niddertalbahn (Bad Vilbel to Stockheim) and Deutsche Bahn BR218. It's interesting to note that all the motive power they've released so far (except the Expert BR101) are diesel-hydraulics. Although TSG haven't released too many add-ons as of late October 2024, they've got a good reputation in the community because their add-ons are p...

This month's catches from the East Coast Main Trunk featured DSG 3127 dead-in-tow on Train 496, as well as two trains carrying some of KiwiRail's brand-new containers with fancy artwork on them. I didn't film as many local trains as I did in September, and this time around, I decided to do a combined bus-spotting and railfanning compilation. The regular Bayhopper services are run by diesel Envi...

Doncaster to Peterborough isnt a boring route
DC #4818 has made its debut on the Glenbrook Vintage Railway. They had the skills to repair and repaint DC #4818. DC #4818 is looking epic.
In your opinion, should TranzAlpine, Coastal Pacific and Northern Explorer get their new Generator Car instead of the former FM Van? I mean they're around 4 decades by now...
As far as I know, the AKV does the job just fine. If they were to get replacements for the AKVs, they would need to be combined generator vans / observation coaches too.
2:20 I WANTED AN ATLANTIC
Nice video, quite a few interesting sights in one day!
26 minutes past midnight.
That was an interesting watch I suppose.
If you don't mind me asking, what is Trainz? Is it a good game?
There is a Durango&Silverton route for TSC but it's very, very old, payware distributed through some old website, slightly lacking in detail and the included loco has no cab view. The money goes to the real route's preservation though, as far as I know.
I just love their nickname of “Hamster Cheeks” it’s so cute! :)
This is so funny.
Mp15dc localmotives pulling car carriers so cool
Late comment, but is the performance of this route better than SEHS?
Hey guys it's Aaron Frank's stepson I love about trains cause they're awesome dude

Interesting that for all Rivet’s reputation, one of your favourites (and mine) is a Rivet product - Island Line 2022. Also, Rivet designed teh stations in Cathcart. I was so disappointed with West Cornwall Local, particularly as it is a route I know well.
Keep up the good work man. I have been watching you for 9 years and still you haven’t made me bored once. I love your TSW reviews especially and I very much appreciate your videos. Cheers
While Thomas isn't the reason I got into trains, I do like the series even it is mainly for kids. The series you've made so far is quite good.
I’m thinking of taking a break from Thomas videos; not sure how long that break will be. While I enjoy writing and coming up with ideas for new stories, there are numerous aspects of Trainz 2019 for which I have lost patience. In any case, there are loads of people out there who make much better Trainz Thomas videos than I could ever do, but that’s not to say that I’m not proud of what I have achieved so far. Indeed, I’m grateful for my friend Tessa’s help with voicing Rebecca and Mavis in previous videos. If anyone’s interested, some of the Thomas stories I wrote are free to adapt. I haven’t made these ones into videos yet: drive.google.com/drive/folders/1MJ_moG_1OXd0mATo6nX8NA4VTIz3RtG4?usp=sharing And in case you don't understand why Percy mentioned N&W 611 at 1:28, that's a call-back to a previous story: ruclips.net/video/n3Sg1mr9B8w/видео.html
Thank you, that really was very interesting. I hadn’t realised there could be a worse unit than a Pacer, but your computer-generated graphic proved me wrong! Because the video was so interesting, however, I had soon forgotten about that. I realise that the engine layout in the 210 was not efficient as far as seat numbers was concerned, but the notion of a diesel unit without a harsh, clattering power unit under the floor of every car is very attractive. The 4SRKT sounds great anyway!
12:40 what is your oppinion on the Mittenwaldbahn (Innsbruck to Garmisch-Partenkirchen) route in developement by TSG (or TSA) for that matter announced in the latest roadmap?
I don't have much of an opinion on it yet, but I will say that I'm intrigued at the chosen time period, and I would've preferred to see a route from Garmisch-Partenkirchen to München instead of Innsbruck.
I have grabbed the tsw 5 starterpack to "upgrade" my TSW 4but i haven't played it yet. And to be honest, im seriously considering kicking it off my computer and not play it until i hear that DTG starts to right all the wrongs. But i think i got more chance to win a lottery or getting struck by lightning than to see that happen. The problem is that there is almost no alternative trainsim that's better than TSW. Run8 has realistic train operations but is solely American based, and the graphics suck big time. Not to mention that you have to own a credit card to even buy it. If only the gameplay of Run8 and the graphics from TSW could be combined, what an kickass trainsimulator TSW would be, leaving the "competition" (that they don't have now) eating their dust. But because of lack of competition DTG is getting away with this shit and people still buying this game and addons. They can do so much better, then why they stubbornly refuse to do so!!!!!!
I personally think an easy slam dunk Canadian Route would be VIA Rail's Corridor between Montreal and Kingston with split services to Ottawa, including O-Train Line 2 & 4, the Stadler FLIRT and Alstom-Coradia LiNT 41.
I don't know much about the O-Train network, but it would still be a cool thing to see in TSW.
Agree 100%
