Capital disability as Mo mentioned is actually quite complex, but it sounds like the guy was covered for OWN Occupation, which basically asks, would the person be able to carry out his trade despite the injury. It is also quite expensive, but the chances of the claim being approved are high, especially for people who are specialists/own trade. The alternative would be Own Or Similar Occupation, which would be quite difficult to get a claim approval coz in most instances, your injury won't stop you from doing other work.
