This is a great video explaining these concepts. I'm glad I stumbled across this channel. Definitely need more of this style of content. Keep up the great work 🤘
Time stamped, to the point, awesome topics, excellent demos, good energy. 100% solid presentation here. The community needs to recognize this channel a lot more.
Your kind words mean a lot! I appreciate you. I’ve got another video on scales coming out in the next couple of weeks, I think it’s going to help a lot of players out. Take care!
Thanks so much, I think we are going to get into tuplets and nested tuplets in the next one...if I can figure out how they work and listen to enough Car Bomb 💣 lol
Just discovered this channel and love it, just starting out playing guitar and really want to learn djent, I only have a 6 string Epiphone SG and tuned it to Drop D. Just wondering where you recommend I start as a complete newbie! Also can you recommend a band where they sing rather than scream, I love metal music but not so much the vocals when they constantly scream (just discovered Karnivool but not sure if they are classed as djent). :-D lol
Thanks for the sub Matt, welcome to the world of guitar. There's lots of metal bands that sing, but usually there's some type of screaming involved. Metal taps into the primal emotions of being a human, which is why there is a lot of vocal intensity. Check out Periphery, Sleep Token, Bil Muri, Bad Omens, Northlane and many others if you want more melodic vocals with your djent! Enjoy!
Something im really confused by is the fact that you said you play 5 notes at 17:30, but when i research the herta online i keep seeing a 4 note rythm just the 2 16th and the 2 8ths. I seems like you are playing 2 16th 2 8th and that another note. (total beginner here for rythms just couldnt wrap my head around this part of the video) Anyways love the video i hope you can anwser my question :)
Thank u for doin this...but too much talk...n stick to coverin Meshuggah....cuz nothin else comes even a billion miles to them..rest are...well...no comments.....

I think it's criminal that your channel isn't more popular. Thanks for the great content!

@@DrewCreal looking forward!
This was sick! I don’t even play guitar but I appreciated learning more about this style of playing.
Dude! You are making some killer content. I loved where you took this in the end example. I can't wait to see Djent 6.0!
Thanks so much, I think we are going to get into tuplets and nested tuplets in the next one...if I can figure out how they work and listen to enough Car Bomb 💣 lol

You're right, a herta is 4 notes, I mis-spoke in the video, thanks for your comment!
@@DrewCreal it wasn't to correct you just for myself that I'm doing it correctly ;)

I’m not sure cover videos are the best way to grow an audience in 2024, I could be wrong though. Have you seen my cover of Abysmal Eye yet?
