Had a similar conversation with a Hiring Manager. The conversion started friendly, asking me about my past work. And the bit by bit, the hiring manager devalued all my past companies with snarky comments and mentions that employees from those companies applied to them in the past as well. Subtle way of saying, you are worthless to us. Ofc, I didn't realize that until after the interview. I'm glad I didn't proceed with that.

This was when the esports scene was just about getting on track and the Broodwar league wasn't particularly big outside of Korea. So the market was relatively small compared to conventional sports and thus the players' salaries weren't that big. The owners weren't very willing to pay a lot for these video game-playing kids either.
Nowadays, players like Faker in Korea reportedly earn up to 5 billion won (roughly 5 mil usd) a year. (Funnily enough, he is playing for SKT, the team Bisu played on.) The esports players of today all have their thanks for the pioneering Broodwar players of the old days.

Probably zowie mico or monoprice mico for the mouse (both discontinued) and Qsenn dt-35 for the keyboard (can still buy online for pretty cheap with some google searching.) Source: This is what he was using when I dropped by his stream a year or two ago. Also both the keyboard and mouse are extremely common among BW progammers during his era
