You can run that vent down below your trailer and not have the gas from your chemicals settling on your trailer and rusting it to death. The problem I had with my 55 gal tanks was leaking from under the lid not the vent. The lids don't seal when you close the tank no matter how hard you wrench them down. I had to go buy some lid gaskets and that solved the issue I was having. I am going to copy the idea of putting a barb on there so I can run a vent line down under my trailer.
