There is an easy way to work around the outline mentioned at 4:45 : Instead of using a font color with high contrast to the background, choose one which is just slightly different to the box' background color. I tried with box color RGB 255-0-0 and font color 255-2-2 . Now you can use "paste as picture" and the "set transparent color" tool. In real life there is still a little outline, but the eye doesn't catch it. That way, you are not limited to simple blocky fonts but you can use any font. Plus you save a lot of time by not drawing the letters line by line. Hope that helps the one or another here! Best Regards Tobi
Thank you for the tutorial :D I often animated Powerpoint for my presentations at college and it was very difficult to find the tutorial until around 2012 and finally didn't use it anymore. finally I found this channel and was very happy to be able to study animation in powerpoint again.
4:45 This method can work for masking, depending on the sharpness you're looking for. The next step would be to use the Soft Edges setting under Picture effects, and adjust the value to be as small as possible while still erasing the borders. Finally, Copy and paste as picture again to "bake" the effect. This is so that you can resize the picture and have it still look the same. While this won't produce as sharp results as tracing the font, it saves considerable time and can work with any font, not just simple geometric fonts like Gotham.
I think letter masking is much easier in 2013 or 2016, it can convert text into vector shapes, and also mask. BTW Great kick-off to the tuts. series! Keep it up :D
Don’t forget that you can create a mask for your fonts like you did in the very beginning. You’ll fragment instead of subtract and the lettering should be outlined at this point. Simply delete what you don’t need and keeping the word “motion” in tact.
Ur efforts are not wasted Actually, I was thinking you try this on my tomorrow's meeting so was waiting for you to upload its sequel from a few days back. anyways you are doing great. came you share some source from where I can learn? Thank you! for replying
I made all the tuts in ppt 2010 for a reason. I just wanted this concept to reach more number of people. Also, i can swiftly slide through different commands easily here :P
My PowerPoint version is 2007 in more commands,I m not getting combine shapes , I m getting combine characters how will I get combine shapes option ? Plz reply fast!
Unfortunately, there's no combine shapes tool for PPT versions below 2010. This was the reason why I showed y'all the second method. That can be used :D
