if you’re passionate about music, you should definitely join a college band when you get to college! its a HUGE improvement from middle/high school band and most schools offer a jazz band that you dont need to major in music to be in!

Ok, I definitely hear the Cuphead vibe, like people are saying--which is of course just big band jazz. The beginning really sounds like Bar Mitzvah dance music to me, though. The instrumentation and feel of it is very similar sounding.
Haha! I find the whole “oh this is Cuphead style” so funny. While Cuphead certainly does have vintage 40’s big band writing in it all over the place, I think of the musical style first... not the game, haha. Kind of reminds me of the whole “Persona vibes” thing. The clarinet style I used here definitely gives off some of that Yiddish / klezmer style you’d hear at traditional Jewish events like that!
It's a brand new year, and a brand new Undertale cover! The mix in this sounds super pleasant to the ears, the fully live instrumentation is incredible. It feels like you just yesterday picked up the clarinet, and now you're soloing with it like it's nobody's business! Awesome work.
Thanks! I will say, there’s a LOT of carry-over from saxophone to clarinet, so I feel lucky in that regard... but clarinet is so much fun, and useful in so many situations! :)
Return to Grillby's, 5 years later. Great as always. Arranging with such creativity, yet resonating with our nostalgia... Fun, sad, epic, you really have a good sense of how to get to us. I remember the Live at Grillby's album so vividly. I listened to it a couple times a day for that whole summer when I first found it! Then the beginning of the Sinnoh project reminded me of your existence, and by then I had acquired much more of a taste for jazz. I've been on the lookout for you ever since. Your more prevalent use of the clarinet lately has also been a breath of fresh air, as it opens up a whole new timbre to play with, even going so far as to change the feeling of a piece you had already arranged (love both of your eterna forest arrangements, even if I've grown fond of the first one) All in all, this comment is a catch all to praise all of your recent work since I caught an upload early-ish. Heya! Yeah, that’s still in the plans, I plan to make it sometime in the next couple of months! I’ve been waiting to have an instrument that can cover that iconic solo soprano line in City of Tears, and I think the clarinet might just be it... definitely coming soon.
