I think it's really important to know this was created by the same team that did the Joe Schmo Show (which if you haven't seen you should add it to your list, fantastic early reality TV). It was actually pretty awesome to watch in real time. I know you're just joking about the house thing but.... the house that every reality show is shot in is in Silverlake. This was a mansion we rented in Thousand Oaks that was owned by Nikki Sixx of Motley Crue. The house you're referring to had another production going on at that time. Steve is an awesome, hilarious, super nice, and talented comedian. You've probably seen him in lots of commercials and other bit TV parts since this. He's 100% shooting for reactions here. The other big twist on this show is in this episode Randy thinks she's only playing for $500k. That's because she thinks that Steve is also playing for $500k. Would be a great idea, if he hadn't suggested to show his naked body to her. I have to imagine after that she'd want to always remain in control of her faculties.
I don't think this is fake. This is EXACTLY the behavior of a woman who feels trapped into doing something. It's so accurate that it's not even a reflection on him, his behavior could be perfection and the fact that the whole thing was sprung on her would cause her to act this way. Just look how when react on married at first sight, and these girls know what they are getting into! So either it's real, or she's the best actress EVER.
maybe but i think if it was one of the guys at the start and acted normally it would be ok
idk she's way too into the "this guy is terrible" bit, if she was truly out of the loop she would try to salvage the situation for the million bones. There's no way on day fucking two she's already giving up and crying about it
@@romanmay2867 So if it was someone that didn't act like Steve does it would be okay? Yeah no shit sherlock. Trying to make it seem like a looks-thing only to debunk yourself right after is real silly.
Update: she's not an actress, she was actually a teacher but got fired cos parents complained after the show came out
@@Random-sk6hm that actually sucks for her that’s messed up
Cody went full dad mode and is chilling in the garage
2000 shows were just like “wow even though you’re an average looking person we’re gonna make you feel super disgusting, ugly, and unloveable because that’s what average means to us, and we will proceed to take zero responsibility for the consequences of self perception on future generations.”
I lost it when Randy was crying and Steve was just bobbing up and down in the hot tub lmao.
especially it being right after she says she doesn't know what to do lmaoooo
imo she seemed totally real, not acting at all. I think that's how I would respond too. She just looked done before it even began. Like, this is gonna suck
Lmaoo right I think she was also dissociating a little too like « wtf is this hehe😀 »
I agree...I remember watching this when it came out on tv, really good if you're looking for some laughs. It seemed real to me idk lol.
Fr shes like a half a million dollars for 2 weeks or bullshit? 🥲🥲 ok I’ll do it😩🙃
Yeah, idk thr fact she chose the 3 guys so confidently/calmly kinda raised flags
Its crazy that some men in the comments are already being like "well shes laughing and giggly" as if that's not a defense mechanism of every woman out there who doesn't like creepy guys but don't wanna piss them off
That dude was killing it, they told him to play a part, and he's playing it masterfully
just took my lunch out the microwave
same 😭
😂
hype
My dad just came back with takeout
What r u eating
*Slasher film music plays*
A totally normal dude comes out.
All jokes aside, I would’ve been terrified in her position 😩 not knowing it was fake, being in a home with an unhinged stranger, trying to coerce me into seeing his junk/kiss/join him in the hot tub.. I wouldn’t sleep 😭🥲 .. poor Randy
literally i'd be terrified
They dont look that crazy together 🤷♀️ like if I saw them holding hands in public i wouldn't be shocked
He's tall, has nice eyes and eyebrows and great hair
Right. Great hair, nice smile, beautiful eyes. A total bear, big boi energy. I think the horror from this show comes from his acting. If I remember correctly, it gets pretty wild.
He's very cute! And people with senses of humour are great!
I kinda like that they didn't just go for an overtly horrible person (though perhaps it'll get worse later?) but rather just cringe and annoying for the most part, aside from the creepiness. That makes it more believable, imo.
Agreed, but I wish they had told him not to try to cross her physical boundaries. That was terrible
@@cc-x3I think it’s one thing to say stuff like that to make her uncomfortable for the effect of the challenge. You’re making it sound like he was groping her. Definitely was being a creep like Cody said, but not like that
The horror movie at the reveal of a slightly chubby guy is grotesque
TV shows like this made everyone feel so insecure no wonder we have body image issues as adults now . Specially when Tyra Banks kept saying this girl was plus just because she had a bigger chest and didn’t look completely starved.
That show literally motivated me to starve myself as a kid.
Fr they ruined an entire generation
I came to the same realization watching this, I'm now discovering a lot of my insecurity when I was younger came from watching mtv
You ever thought about not watching the shit. Just a thought no shade
And then you have to suffer interacting with the audience of shows like this one.
People who think they have the right to make your life miserable because it's "just a joke bro".
The bit about an opposite show where they have to convince their family they actually pulled the hot guy had me dead 😂🤣
Cody avoiding saying ‘sorry’ after his Canadian comes out is laughable 😂
cody calling out "nice eyes" as the worst compliment when Jimmy told "megan fox" on LIB that the first thing he noticed was "nice teeth"
“Big white square teeth” 💀
@@GiGi-yk4xnLMFAOOOOO he somehow kept making the compliment worse 💀
I don’t think that was a bad compliment at all actually. She does have nice teeth. And that’s about it. 😂😂😂
Googled this and found out Randi was forced to resign as a teacher due to this show. The principal said she had to choose between promoting the show or teaching and she chose the show.
Honestly teachers are treated horribly in the US, I don't really blame her that much for leaving that career
@@hannahluden2245 same
@@hannahluden2245 I would also imagine she was contractually obligated to promote the show (outside of school). So she could keep her job and let this horrible experience have been for nothing, or leave and keep her $. It would've been absolutely insane to chose the job. I'm sure after a year or so she could find work no problem. These shows were everywhere
The horror music as the fiance walked out was actually insane 😭😭
Makes the show 10x better tbh
i couldn’t figure out why steve looked so familiar that’s JOE FROM GREYS ANATOMY
THANK YOU i was trying to figure that out lol
THANK YOU. I was like "I swear this guy is a famous actor" but I couldn't put my finger on who he was.
yes thank you!!!! cuz i was going crazy
I thought he just looks like brenan frasier afterthe divorce
I've seen him in so many things but this is it TY. Damn he went on to bigger and better things
i genuinely think he’s a handsome guy!! especially because he’s really nice and funny and because i see him as joe the bartender from grey’s who is such a good character
I used to have a crush on him when he was on greys anatomy lol
@@Iloveelliptsmithit should have been you! It should have been you and not her!!
@@chimppower2748bro💀💀💀
Imagine this concept again but both people think they are trying to be the annoying partner. Just two people being as annoying as possible trying to cringe the other out. Tell them if the other person calls them out then they will not get the money. And to top it off have them have to be in front of their friends and family the entire time.
Yessss!! Like playing marriage chicken, whoever chickens out loses
hornestly, i love this xD i feel bad that he has to pretend being an asshole, but i also just love the clips where they have pulled him to the side and he just seems like such a nice and funny guy lol i love the fact that he's an actor without her knowing
He's Joe the Bartender from Grey's Anatomy
Hornestly?!?
sucks that he really is an asshole and a phile
“Fart Randy” had me cacklingggg when he realized he mixed up the names
Im so glad we can see his interviews, because we get to see "the real Steve", and I must say he seem so damn charming and is also such a fantastic actor! I really hope he is doing well in life
So nice of Otis to let his dad have this much fun
Just finished lunch but I’ll serve myself some more just to enjoy this video the way it’s meant to be
sinner
Always happy for your lunch updates
Putting the fact that he's supposed to be an awful person aside, steve's just...the most regular looking guy ever
As someone who grew up watching early 2000s reality tv, I feel like the 2000s were just a particularly cruel time for anyone who wasn’t a size 2 (and whatever the male equivalent of that is) lol
Honestly, I'm known for having less conventional taste in men, but I'd rather have been paired with Steve/Joe the bartender from Grey's Anatomy than any of those megachads she was originally shown. He's adorable, and from what I've seen of him on Grey's a fantastic actor! And the clips of him not in character he seems like a lovely person! And we wonder why beauty expectations have become so insanely unrealistic...
Exactly.
i knew i recognized him from somewhere
He is actually cute
I was a guest on a reality show once upon a time. They absolutely do set you up in awkward situations like this... and it's to get a genuine and often rude reaction out of people.
“Who let me have fun?” Is my favorite thing he says every video
It’s hilarious to me bc I think “Steve” Is genuinely attractive. I love beautiful eyes that light you with a smile.
he is so attractive!! really hope he's doing okay and realizes how absolutely stupid and wrong (in all definitions of the word) the show and its title is. he seems like a clever guy so i'm betting he does!!
if i was the bride i literally would've said "oh he's actually cute!" and accidentally have ruined the premise of the show
Steve is so cute
@@lemongarycactus no fr tho!! not that i'd wanna be on a show like this in the first place but if for some god damn crazy ass reason i was there i'd be like?????? he's supposed to be ugly???? he's not even that overweight either i don't get it!
Lookalike Brandon Fraser
I ran into Steve once. He was leaving a nursing home in IL. He was visiting his grandma. He was very sweaty, but nice.
“Sweaty but nice” hahaha
That's relatable tbh
He is actually a really handsome guy. It’s so sad that people don’t even give bigger people a chance. People should judge people for their actions.
He's not bad looking at all.
god forbid anyone has a type lol
@@munchkint That's what everyone tells people they find unattractive. "You're just not my type." Lol! If you don't like overweight people just say that.
@@caseyw.6550 i don't like overweight people.
@@munchkint and that's how to speak honestly without beating around the bush. Congrats I guess.
Steven is a fantastic actor bro, he was on community, buffy, and even recently 'you.' I fuckin love that guy!
greys anatomy too!!
Who was he in Community??
@@Subsistence69 he was the janitor
Randi could wish for a guy like him
OH YEAH He's the guy Annie repeatedly chloroforms
This was like the instagram posts of " Would you live in a mansion with your first @ " or "would you marry a rich guy you don't love or a poor man you love ".
I’m hooked on this… PART 2
Right, I want to see the whole thing. I'm about to go look up where I can watch this show.
I remember seeing it advertised on tv back then but I never watched it.
The guy playing Steve is great, so funny.
@@lisao7600lmk if you find out where to watch cause I was thinking the same thing
15:20 the musical stings for Steve are absolutely insane lol. I feel bad for him. He hasn’t even acted awful yet
Your Canadian “sorry” sounds exactly like Kurtis Conner & I love that for our Canadian Mayor
I commented this before I knew you were Canadian
The hosts look is so 2000s I love it so much
maybe bc it was 2004 ig idk
I love how all it takes is one sorry for Cody to go back to his canadian accent
I remember watching the Dutch version of this as a kid in 2005. It was also called by dirty, fat, annoying fiancé and about the whole country was watching it at that time. The cash price was only €50K too.
Met Laura ponticorvo toch
Aw, whoever made that comment about paternity leave is rude and flat out wrong. I wouldn’t care if you pooped your pants for a living, this is crucial bonding time for parents and baby. Congratulations on baby by the way! Hope your wife is doing well with recovering ❤️🩹
That is such a sweet comment. Have a nice day!
Ok wait, Steve doesn’t even look at that bad 😭 rip
Ok he’s literally so sweet when he’s not acting
Need a part two more than Dune needed one
I hope the actor got at least a million for this gig.
“This is actually where Pimp my ride was filmed” 😂😂😂😂 not a garage but a mansion 😅😅 🤣
her discomfort it’s so real
Cody this is one of your funniest reactions 😭
omg Jammy! didnt know you were a cody fan! love your vids man
Jammy what! Didn't expect to see you here!
My worlds are colliding!!
that "sorry" thanks for reminding me you're Canadian
Let’s goooo more episodes! also always wanted back hair since my grandpa who I think is the most badass person ever has it - I wanted to be like him but never grew in that back hair so, I envy you Cody and Steve as well lol
Aww
We need the full season!
- asked to put on wedding dress.
- told she’s about to be engaged.
- surprised Pikachu face.
I like how the "crazy/wild" concept of this show is literally the concept of Love is Blind
3:38 she quarantined before it was cool
And for two weeks too! 😂
"before it was cool" 😭😭
she single handedly prevented covid-18 from happening . What a queen 💅
I'm just watching this now and I wanna say props to you for taking paternity leave. People consider making videos easy but no one can deny it's time consuming and I'm sure Kelsey appreciates your help greatly. Been following you for long and I'm so glad to see your little family gained a new member💘
Dude YES please do more this is an UNHINGED concept for a reality show
trying to financially support the baby with interaction 😤
32:40 Biggest respect for that dude. He's a actor playing this persona. I couldn't do that in private. The fact that he is doing that on TV...
Totally locked in for this journey!!!
So happy for you and Kelsey ❤ Baby Otis is adorable and I hope parenthood treats you well
I randomly watched this show when I was a child and I didn't known its name but I remember how shocked I was that I convinced myself it's a fever dream and every time I talked about it no one knew what I'm talking about but it always itched my mind. Cody you doing God's job

steve is an actor in greys anatomy and plays the bar owner Joe
This is awesome!Post more of these lmao let's finish this 6 video series! We needed these longer videos
The white dress Randi was wearing when she first met Steve is the exact same dress I wore to my high school graduation, also in 2004. This show is so nostalgic, lol.
Cody, other Canadians, say "sorry" however you want. Don't hide who you are.
