I love vintage newsreel footage, and I love classic cars, so I quite enjoyed watching this video!
I had one. Loved it. It was very "chuckable" and, although it was slow, it handled really well.
My Plymouth Cricket ! My very first car. I still miss it
My dad had 3 of them in the 80ts great car would love to own one myself 👍🏻🏆
Their were several Avengers own by me family members and is still rusting away at home.they were good cars.
That is cool! My first car was a 72 Plymouth Cricket. I use to beat that thing up and it held up well.....in fact after selling it to a couple back in the late 80sm they owned for 200k mile after my 100k......300k miles with very little work in that time....Auto trans with 3.90 rear gears, Dual Strombergs.....
I have two Avengers! i love them!
Imagine that as the day job!
😂good cars. We had a later 1979 1600ls estate..smooth gearbox, nice torquey engine, and spacious too for a family of 5..
This would have been filmed at MIRA, just North of Nuneaton. I worked there for a while and recognise the two small hills different heights, which the car drove over.
They're the same hills at 0:30 that were used in the TopGear British Classics handbrake test:

I often wondered why Hillman bothere with the Avenger, it seemed hardly any smaller than the Hunter !
Tiger Tiger burning bright.
Had two 1.3 hillman 1.6 chrysler, hillman was a good car chrysler was crap.
The design of seats was very poor, with many motorists complaining of back pain.
:)
